At the start of the 21st Century, a virus occurred that has placed worldwide agriculture production at zero
We stopped using artificial fertilization on various crops, fruit trees and plants started getting bent and twisted. The interesting thing is that the virus only effects crops that are edible to humans.

Furthermore, the virus had a effect on the growth of trees that produce poisonous wood. The virus has helped them with rapid growth and has also destroyed all food sources humans depend on.

Is it a secret organization conspiring to annihilate humanity and purify the earth? Or maybe extra terrestrial aliens plotting a invasion? Or gods revenge?

There's alot of rumors going around, but no one could shed light on what was happening to this world.

For the average person, food was at a greater priority then figuring out what had happened. (사람들에게는 그런 말보다는 당장 먹을 한 끼 식사가 더 중요했기 때문이다.)
For some time now, various governments and nations have been hoarding and saving their food supplies, researching and looking for a alternative.

First we tried searching for alternative way to feed livestock such as cows. We successfully now feed them the abundant leaves from the bent poisonous trees.

Although we feed them with more then enough food, the number of cattle has not increased. On the contrary, it has decreased significantly because the fertility rate of the cows has fallen.

It is unknown if the virus had a influence on the leaves we fed to the cows. Artificial insemination of the cows has also failed.

There was no hope in trying to find a alternative to livestock, so we turned to our rivers and oceans. But, there were problems there too.

Seaweed and aquatic plants quickly died off and dwindled away we have also noticed a decline in plankton, it is only a matter of time before the ecological system of the worlds oceans are ravished and destroyed.

And the truth is that the virus crisis has led various countries that had not been prepared to thoughtless, and recklessly start over fishing  and push the ocean to the brink of destruction.

Even insects were brought up as a alternative to the food crisis, but the poisonous plants had a strong effect on them and they had  died off and became scarce.

The human population is slowly falling due to the scarcity of food.

Some people boil the trees poisonous wood into a porridge-like substance, it is still toxic but it was the best the majority of us could do. I barely survive by eating the bark skin by boiling the toxins out of the bark the best I could.
