Chapter 1: Will of Fire? More Like Will to Deceive!
Chapter 1: Will of Fire? More Like Will to Deceive!
"I never thought that after graduating from a teacher's college, instead of becoming a teacher, I'd end up crossing over into a world of ninjas and taking on the role of an instructor." Li Muye sighed helplessly as he sorted through his memories.
He felt a peculiar connection to the word "teacher," as if it were his destiny.
In high school, he was one of the top art students, so many classmates sought his guidance, earning him the nickname "Teacher Yue." During college entrance exams, he ended up enrolling in a prominent teacher's university, and his major was in education, which was a suggestion from his family. Even in university, he tutored his roommates, and the nickname "Teacher Yue" persisted.
Much to everyone's surprise, in a rebellious turn of events, Li Muye took the civil service exam after graduation and became a government employee instead of a teacher.
What he never expected was that on his first day of work, as he stepped into his office, he would suddenly find himself transported into another world, assuming the role of a new teacher at a ninja academy.
His name in this new body was Yashima Muye, with the same given name but a different surname.
"Sigh, this is certainly not a safe world," Muye sighed inwardly. "There are too many psychopaths, fanatics, and deviants, and they're all incredibly powerful."
He casually surveyed the office, which didn't look too different from the ones in his previous world. However, the sharp kunai knives casually placed on the desk told him that this was not the peaceful realm he had left behind.
What made Muye even more exasperated was that he wasn't just a teacher; he was also a member of the Root Organization!
His previous self had been an orphan raised by the Root from a young age. The reason he became a teacher at the ninja academy was due to Danzo's orders. He was tasked with observing and reporting on the students, keeping an eye out for any budding geniuses.
"Being under Danzo's command is no walk in the park..."
As Muye pondered how to survive in this treacherous world, a mechanical, emotionless voice suddenly rang in his head, and a transparent blue panel appeared before his eyes.
[Teacher System Activated. Congratulations! You have successfully become a teacher.]
[Giving lectures to students will earn you rewards. The better your students perform, the greater the rewards.]
[You can take on exceptional students as disciples and provide them with one-on-one guidance. As your disciples' strength increases, you will receive rewards.]
[PS: Mutual recognition is required for accepting disciples. Unilateral decisions are not permitted.]
Muye examined the blue panel, which currently had only two options: one for personal information and the other for master-disciple relationships. He clicked on the personal profile option.
[Name: Yashima Muye]
[Age: 18]
[Chakra: 4300]
[Skills: Transformation Technique, Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu, Fire Style: Phoenix Flower Jutsu, Body Flicker Technique, Konoha Flow Technique]
[Evaluation: An elite among Chunin. In a war, you would be slightly more useful cannon fodder.]
After reading the somewhat depressing evaluation, Muye silently closed the personal profile and opened the master-disciple option, which was blank, likely because he had no disciples yet.
Just then, the bell rang, signaling the start of class, and Muye remembered that he had a lesson to teach. So, he gathered his things and made his way to the classroom.
Even though he was a new teacher, due to the small number of instructors at the academy, Muye also took on the role of a homeroom teacher for a class of newcomers.
As he looked over the class list, he spotted several familiar names: Anko Mitarashi, as well as Tenzo and Hizashi Hyuga, future legendary guards of Konoha.
When he saw the name "Uchiha Stop-Water," Muye's eyes lit up. This student was an extraordinary genius.
Since the system indicated that he would receive rewards based on his disciples' talent and growth, Muye decided that the more brilliant the disciple, the better.
Before entering the classroom, Muye adjusted his expression, donning a warm and radiant smile as he stepped inside.
The ninja academy classroom was designed uniquely, with the students' desks arranged in ascending order to ensure that those at the back had a clear view.
Muye's entrance immediately quieted the previously noisy classroom.
After all, these were five and six-year-old children attending school for the first time, and most of them regarded ninja teachers with a mix of curiosity and reverence.
Of course, there were exceptions, like the purple-haired girl with a single braid sitting in the front row. As soon as Muye entered, she blurted out, "Big brother, you're so handsome! Are you our teacher?"
Muye smiled and nodded, replying, "That's right, and you're a lovely student. I'm your homeroom teacher from now on."
"Hehe," the purple-haired girl beamed, immediately warming up to the kind and handsome blond teacher.
The other students also felt more relaxed after witnessing the friendly interaction. Although it was their first day of school, they had heard stories from older relatives about strict and scary teachers.
Muye quickly made his way to the front of the class and wrote his full name on the blackboard before turning to introduce himself formally.
"My name is Yashima Muye, and starting today, I will be your teacher. I look forward to getting to know all of you."
"Yes, teacher!" Anko Mitarashi was the first to respond enthusiastically.
With her leading the way, the other students followed suit, including Stop-Water.
Muye waited, sensing the silence from the system, and felt a bit disappointed. He had hoped that by having the students introduce themselves, he could establish a master-disciple relationship with Stop-Water, as it could be considered a form of recognition. However, it seemed the system had other ideas.
Muye didn't let his emotions show on his face. Once the introductions were over, he gestured for everyone to settle down.
Although Stop-Water had received education within his clan, he was not one to seek attention and would only answer if called upon.
"People built it, right?" Anko Mitarashi, the girl with purple hair, replied after a moment's thought.
"Yes, people did build it, but what you should know is who exactly built Konoha and why," Mu Yue continued, building upon Anko's answer.
"Before the age of hidden villages, there was a constant state of war—the Warring States period. During that time, even children as young as you might have had to take up weapons and fight. Brutal wars could break out at any moment..."
As Mu Yue spoke of this cruel history, his voice took on a somber tone, laying bare the harsh realities of the Warring States period before his students.
Perhaps the children of the ninja world matured faster, or perhaps it was because they lived in Konoha, but many of them seemed to grasp the weight of his words, and the atmosphere in the classroom shifted.
"At that time, two clans stepped forward: the Senju clan and the Uchiha clan." Mu Yue's voice took on a passionate edge as he continued.
"I know! I know! The First Hokage, Hashirama Senju!" One of the students exclaimed, recognizing the Senju name. The mention of the Warring States period may have been unfamiliar to them, but the Senju clan was a name they knew.
Stop-Water, who had been hoping that someone would bring up the Uchiha clan, felt a twinge of disappointment. He didn't understand why, despite both clans being founders of Konoha, the attention was solely on the Senju.
"To protect future generations and spare them from the horrors of war, the two clans joined forces to establish Konoha, attracting more ninja clans to join their cause. Together, they brought an end to the Warring States period, and that is how we have the Konoha we know today."
"Where the leaves dance, the fire of will burns eternal. The light of the fire continues to illuminate our village, nurturing new growth."
Mu Yue's expression turned solemn as he concluded, "It is because of our ancestors' selfless sacrifices and unwavering determination—the Will of Fire—that we exist today, and that we have this ninja school. Their legacy lives on through us!"
He thought that Stop-Water, with his knowledge of history and understanding of the Will of Fire, would surely be intrigued by a teacher who shared these passions.
"So that's how Konoha came to be," one student mused. "I'll definitely pay my respects the next time I pass by the Hokage Monument."
"I want to become a ninja who embodies the Will of Fire and protects Konoha!" another student exclaimed.
The students' imaginations ran wild as they envisioned their ancestors fighting valiantly to build the village they now called home. Inspired, they voiced their own aspirations to follow in their forebears' footsteps.
Stop-Water's eyes lit up as well. He felt that this teacher was somehow different, and his interest in the upcoming school days at the ninja academy grew.
Initially, he had thought that the ninja school would simply reinforce what he had already learned within his clan, and he had even considered graduating early to assist in the police force. Now, it seemed there was more to it than he had anticipated.
"Now, does anyone know how many types of chakra attributes there are?" Mu Yue asked, transitioning to a new topic.
"Five!" came the quick reply from one of the students with a ninja family background. "Water, Earth, Wind, Lightning, and Fire."
"Not quite," Mu Yue said with a smile. "There are seven chakra attributes. In addition to the five basic attributes, there are also two special attributes: Yin and Yang."
This method of questioning and then providing a correction was an effective way to leave a lasting impression on his students.
Mu Yue then proceeded to teach the basics of chakra, occasionally sprinkling in jokes to keep the atmosphere light and the students engaged.
Time flew by, and before they knew it, the bell rang, signaling the end of the four class periods.
"Alright, class is dismissed for today. Tomorrow, we'll learn about chakra refinement!" Mu Yue announced with a smile.
His direct and enthusiastic declaration of the end of the class and a preview of the next lesson took the students by surprise.
As the dismissal bell rang, the students were momentarily taken aback. They realized that they had indeed gone through four class periods, but under Mu Yue's guidance, the lessons had been so engaging and enjoyable that they hadn't noticed the passing of time.
"Chakra refinement? I can't wait for tomorrow!" Anko exclaimed, eager to dive into the world of ninjas. She had no prior exposure to such knowledge, as her family members were not ninjas.
"Who would've thought that classes would be so interesting?" Ganto Tetsu said to his cousin, Shinotsuku Izumo. "My brother almost had me believing that school would be a drag. I should go tell my aunt about him stealing money to buy snacks!"
"Why not just blackmail him into sharing those snacks with you instead?" Shinotsuku suggested with a grin.
Ganto's eyes widened as he smacked his forehead. "Brilliant! If I succeed, I'll split the snacks with you!"
Stop-Water watched as Mu Yue prepared to leave the classroom and then stood up to follow him.
[Lecturing complete. Initiating settlement.]
[Evaluation: A]
[By sharing the stories of their ancestors and emphasizing their self-sacrificing spirit, you inspired your students and fostered a strong sense of responsibility and passion. Your lecture was well-structured and interactive, resulting in high student satisfaction.]
