Chapter 1
"The Silver Men"
Note: I wanted to share this draft with you. This is a draft I wrote in a short time based on an idea I had before going to sleep. —-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Silver Men—Rulers of the World After years and generations of research, I have finally uncovered the locations of the seven rulers of the world. It is said that each of them ruled for an era, either bringing destruction or peace. But even with this, very little is known about them. Their names are almost entirely forgotten, and it’s confirmed through ancient ruins that four of them were men, while the remaining three were women. Each ruler belonged to a different era, yet the ruins share a common feature: the presence of a central figure believed to represent these rulers. Researchers have given them names based on limited historical records: The First King The first to unite the Silver Men, he built a kingdom and sat on its throne as a great king. He was the first to spread knowledge and created a city that, while primitive, was far sturdier and more advanced than the cities that followed. Its ruins still stand today, and even the throne he sat on remains intact. The Foolish Giant Unlike his predecessor, he ruled the world with violence. He amassed unimaginable wealth, making his era one of the darkest in history. Death spread across the world under his rule. Nothing remains from his time—no cities or palaces. After his death at a young age (caused by his palace collapsing under the weight of his treasure), his era was erased by either the people or time itself. The Queen of Love Known for her love for a man she never obtained, as he died in war. Like the rulers before her, she died unmarried and a virgin. She was called many names, one being The Sorrowful Queen. She had a power that made anyone who met her gaze obey her commands. She waged endless wars, staining the seas red with blood. So many perished that humanity itself teetered on the edge of extinction. The Bloodthirsty Madman A monster more than a ruler, wielding a massive axe and an even larger hammer. He built a kingdom through bloodshed and conquered other realms. His reign lasted only four or five years before he was overthrown and killed, but not before taking thousands down with him. The Benevolent One She ruled the world effortlessly, in a way that remains unknown. Strangely, all before her seemed to welcome her as if they were brainwashed. Her era was marked by peace and happiness for decades, with no wars or conflict. The world thrived under her reign. The Lazy One One of the most mysterious rulers. It’s known she was incredibly lazy, to the point where she left her kingdom’s management entirely to her ministers and aides. She entered a deep sleep and never woke up again. Though her body remained alive, her mind was dead. Her body was preserved and monitored until it eventually perished, after which it was buried. The First Emperor He united warring factions to create his empire, discovering countless lands and even setting his sights on the stars. He lived for centuries, leading his people to technological heights so advanced that they were forgotten over time, and societies reverted to primitive tools. Under his reign, humanity was genetically and chemically enhanced to the point of superhuman strength, able to carry tanks with one hand and hurl them. The emperor himself was far stronger than the average citizen. He was famed for his sword and his shield, which housed a double-barreled cannon. His reign lasted for an unknown length of time, ending with the ultimate betrayal: his wife stabbed him in the back to sell their planet to the star-dwellers. He was the only ruler to marry. After researching for decades—century after century across generations—I finally located the First Emperor’s center. Comparing it to the other centers confirmed my suspicions. Each center bears unique carvings representing their respective rulers. However, my great-grandfather noticed similarities between the First King’s and the Bloodthirsty Madman’s centers. This raised doubts, but they were dismissed due to a lack of evidence. Now, I have the full pieces and a solid lead on an upcoming event that will change the world. The leader of the Union gazed at the seven centers gathered on the table. "What am I looking at, researcher?" "These are the centers of the world’s rulers, sir. I have a theory about an imminent event that will shake the world." The commander sighed, placing his hand on his head. "Speak, researcher." "You’re aware that every Arkain has a unique symbol that seals their center, correct?" "Of course I know. I ripped plenty of them out during the Fall War." "Then look closely—you’ll see that the rulers’ centers bear the same carvings. I don’t believe it’s a coincidence. Even after scanning them," he said, pulling out images comparing the symbols side by side. "And I think you know what this means, don’t you, sir?" The commander took the images, his expression growing serious as he compared the symbols. "They’re identical... but how? They’re nothing alike." Smiling beneath my metallic mask, I replied: "They aren’t identical, sir. They’re the same person." The commander’s face twisted in confusion. "Have you lost your mind? The First King ruled five million years ago, and the First Emperor ruled sixty thousand years ago!" "I know it sounds absurd, but if you study the rulers’ histories, a strange pattern emerges." "Explain, researcher." "In my research, I noticed that the rulers seemed to study their people over years, applying what they learned across generations. Ever wondered how Arkain technology advanced so rapidly without setbacks during the Emperor’s time?" "The Bloodthirsty Madman? The Queen of Love?" "I know what you mean, but it seems as though they’re experimenting, learning, and observing—pushing their people to grow stronger to one day conquer the stars." "And do you have proof?" I quickly pulled out another image, this one of an ancient carving from the First King’s era. It depicted the seven rulers, each named in an unknown language. Standing before them was a small, frail figure with no name. Handing the image to the commander, I watched as worry overtook his face. "He will return... but when?" "After extensive research, I’ve narrowed it down to five to twenty years from now." The commander took the images with him, his face marked with concern and a hint of fear. I didn’t care much, as his final words filled me with excitement: "I’ll allocate funding. Find the exact day of his return." "Day, not year?" "The day—and preferably the hour." Grinning with elation, I responded enthusiastically: "Yes, sir!" He left me in my lab, taking the images with him, leaving me to my work.
