"Oh does the Mighty Gems corporation run out of good lawyers to manage its legal affairs?"

"Yes and no . ",,, " Yes in a sense that I need you to work for me and no not in the legal department . " he hastily and when she creased her forehead . " But it may come in useful in some aspects . "

"What do you really have mind? I don't get you . " She want to refuse outright, but she was intrigue and want to hear more .

"It's like this, I have just returned to continue to manage the company my father left me, it was his legacy and I want to continue it . But being away for almost seven years, I was in a coma for three years it took away my hold on the company . "

Advertisement" So what happened to the remaining four years? "she interrupted .

" I . . . " . he was torn between telling her the truth or go on acting,,,he chose the latter . "I have a temporary lost of . memory . This past few years I was introduced back to those memory by the people around me . This is where the problem is ,I don't know whom to trust . "

"Yes, you see my stepfather took the reigns of looking after the business abroad i n my absence, but my uncle, Josh father manage locally . We are thriving abtoad . but we are loosing locally to the brink of bankruptcy . I just learned from it recently . "

"So what it has to do with me?" Jade asked .

"The loyalty of most of the employees are to my uncle, I could not come into investigation without reaching a dead end, and in the process stepping on big toes, letting the enemy know of my move . " . " I just made to believe that you have a very good and solid team of informers that's what help you win your cases so . that's it . "

"So you are saying that the enemy is your family? and you want me to investigate, an outsider, that would nit be bias and whose loyalty lies with you . Is it right?" cutting him short of explanations .

"You nailed it . " he was impressed with her conclusion . but he was not ready for her answer .

"I am sorry CEO Chen I cannot help you . I don't want to be tangled with your affairs specifically with your family . "

"But,,, I don't have anyone to trust . I pay you handsomely . "

Money is not the question but dignity and loyalty . How could you trust me . I could sell you to the other side . And the truth is that is you're problem is not mine . besides I don't like to work for you . I am running late for my next appointment . " as she rise from the seat , he took hold of her arm urging her to stay . the instantly the contact was established there was a to tingling sensation she felt .

she pulled her arms abruptly as in being electrocuted .

"Carah, please help me,' he pleaded .

" What did you call me?" she eyed him suspiciously .

"Your full name is Carah Jade Ho Valle, I guess the Carah has a better recall than Jade . " he explained abruptly .

" I'm sorry I have to go . " she hurriedly walk away to the parking lot . only to find out that tire of her car is flat . she had to hurry or she may lose the chance for an interview . she tried to hail a taxi but none was available . and she is loosing her patience .

"May I offer you a ride" a car suddenly appeared, behind the steering wheel is her man Zander .

"No! you will just pester me with your idea of working for you . "

"No Carah, it's just my way of saying sorry for holding you from your appointment , I will not discuss the proposal . OK?"

"Promise?" she hesitated .

"Promise" he hold his hand to his chest .

Carah can't help but smile showing her dimples on his childish gesture . unaware of the impact it have to her man . They drove in silence after giving him her direction .
