Angela attempted to cure Hathaway, but she failed.
As the Holy Maiden of the Illumination Society, healing and detoxification was supposed to be Angela's specialty.

Angela looked at Hathaway's side profile as she slept soundly, her heart filled with curiosity.

Through the curtain, Angela tilted her head and took a peek outside.
The moonlight was like paint, coloring the ground with a pearly white.
The casual guards had already cleaned up the corpses of their companions, and they were cooking food around a bonfire.
Unlike usual, however, the guards were very quiet.
In the past, even while they were being pursued, the guards will still shout and joke around. They would pour alcohol into one another's mouths, and they would discuss about their preferences for females, including breasts and butts.

The man's voice was very cold and calm, without the slightest fluctuation of emotions.

Angela obediently shrank back.

'But it's good that he didn't went back to get revenge. I'll look for an opportunity to chat with him tomorrow.”
Angela obediently returned to her carriage without showing a trace of her usual unruly behavior.
As the Holy Maiden, she had not once backed down even while she was being pursued.
Even before she encountered Locke, Angela was constantly trying to convince her guards to confront the men in black.
After all, she did not believe that they were trying to kill her.
Even though more than half of her guards were either dead or injured, Angela did not care.
As the Holy Maiden, her status was extremely noble.

The people who had been fleeing all this while were physically and mentally exhausted, and they had long wanted to sleep soundly.
With Locke's appearance, the guards no longer guarded their posts.
Everyone cooked as fast as they could, and after handing the first bowl to Angela, they handed Locke the second.
Seeing that Locke accepted it, the guards smiled, and then they went back to share the rest of the food with everyone.
Since they were on the run, the food they did not own much food reserves.
The remaining pieces of jerky had been given to Angela and Locke. As such, the guards could only take out the dry food in their arms and eat the meat soup together.
They broke the dry food and soaked it in the meat soup. After absorbing the soup, it tasted similar to meat.
In the wilderness, it was a privilege to be able to enjoy a mouthful of warm food.
Moreover, with Locke around, the guards no longer needed to be on guard.
They could eat a safe meal and sleep soundly. They did not need to worry about any Daemons attacking them.
For the people who had just experienced a life-and-death battle for the past few days, they felt like they were in heaven.
Locke chewed his food quietly. His heart was very calm.
Be it dry food or meat, it made no difference to Locke.
