After washing up and changing into her nightclothes, Shen Tianyu sat on the chaise below the window, in her room designed exactly like the one in Nangzhou . She hugged her knees as she stared outside, down at the bustling and colorful streets in a daze . Watching various men walk down the streets . Some were her with other men, looking around every step they took, probably their first time stepping into such a place . Some were openly staring lecherously at the girls waving handkerchiefs . Some had on straight, expressionless faces, as if they were merely passing through here or were here for business, not the pleasure-seeking type of business . Some were walking with a woman hugging their arms and chatting . She saw one couple being scolded by a well-dressed and poised woman, most likely the man's wife had found him out . It was no use scolding him, though . This was a time of three wives, four concubines and more . If she was too aggressive, the man would divorce her . Shen Tianyu moved her eyes to look at another threesome . This one was two men fighting over a woman . She seemed to be trying to soothe them, but the joy of being fought over by me could not be concealed .

There were innocent and childlike types, there were foxy types and there were those prideful and dignified types that would not appear here, trying to attract customers . Because those that could truly have enough pride to not even show their face here, were those that were popular and in high demand .

'What to do . . . ' Shen Tianyu's eyes swung to the wall connecting her and Rong Jian's room, then swung back to look at the streets below . 'Am I too cautious? Do I have too many doubts?' She thought back to her previous life, all her boyfriends that ended up being trash . Then, she glanced at her covered sleeves and clothed body . 'Is it trauma? Probably . Is it because of these? Probably . Is it the time period and society's current normal? Definitely . ' She sighed . 'I am already so ugly yet I still wish for my significant other to love only me . Perhaps I am too selfish .
