Taking in the scenery of the various buildings at the side of the road, Shen Tianyu finally arrived at the Main Hall . It looked just like the entrance to an ancient Chinese mansion with red beams holding up the roof and a large plaque holding a scroll of an elegant yet powerful calligraphy of the building's name . The slanted roof was also painted a lacquered red . The plain wooden doors didn't have a knocker, possible because this building was open to all, and was easily pushed open . As the door creaked open, Shen Tianyu saw the mass of people that were waiting to or were already registered for the entrance exam . The room was so full, she thought it would burst, and there was a constant murmur of conversation flooding her ears that she hadn't heard previously .

'Was there a silencing talisman on the door? I didn't see a one, though . ' She thought as she stood still outside the door and looked around . However, she didn't find the talisman she thought would be there . 'Is it inside?' She thought as she finally stepped over the threshold and closed the gate behind her, feeling for anything out of place to maybe find the Silencing talisman . She didn't feel anything where her hands were so she turned back around and looked over the door to find an almost invisible paper talisman at the top . It was almost the same color as the wood beneath it and was placed quite high up . Normally, people wouldn't crane their necks to find a talisman that had nothing to do with them after all . 'Ah, it was an Internal Silencing Talisman . No wonder I couldn't find it outside . ' The difference between an Internal Silencing Talisman and an External one was that the former prevented sound from inside a space, such as the sound from this hall, from getting out . The latter, on the other hand, prevented others on the outside from hearing what was going on inside a space . An Internal Silencing Talisman, aside from being placed inside a structure rather than outside, acted a shield to keep the sounds inside while an External Silencing Talisman, along with being placed on the outside, was something akin to jamming an outsider's senses . Though the two were named the same thing, they worked in slightly different ways .

"Um, excuse me . Where do I go to register for the exam?" She asked the person closest to her . Due to the disorderly mass of people that didn't form any kind of line, she had no idea where to go . And rather than wondering around until time was up and not having registered, she figured it was better to ask around .

The person she had questioned was a man in a white robe embroidered with yellow peonies at the seams with a particularly big branch on his chest . The man had a stone-cold face, however, and ignored her completely as if she didn't exist .

'Oi, we're all here to take the exam, even if you won't tell me doesn't mean someone else won't . What are you being so unfriendly for?' She complained with her head but didn't bother to scold him . He'd probably just ignore her anyways, it wasn't worth the waste of her energy . Better to use the energy to ask someone else .

Just as she was turning away to find someone friendlier to ask, another man beside the previous one she had questioned stuck his head out from behind and answered her . "Um . . . you're here to take the entrance exam, right? The regiatration area is over there . " Shen Tianyu turned to the voice of the man and he pointed across the room, where the crowd was somewhat thicker . She looked back at the man to thank him, only to find that he had completely stepped out of the other man's shadow by now . He was wearing a similarly white robe but woth bamboo instead of peony embroidery . A willow branched was intertwined with the bamboo on his chest . 'Are they from the same clan or something?' Shen Tianyu wondered to herself .

She bowed to the other and thanked him as she had intended . "Thank you very much for your assistance, kind Young Master . I will surely repay this someday, may I perhaps get your name so I know my benefactor?"

The man let out a small, good-natured laugh . "This Miss is exaggerating, it's only a small matter . Though I would be glad to give my name . I am Ningwu Liushan, hope we can be friends in the time to come . " He replied with cupped hands .

"Liushan . . . Mr . Ningwu is certainly as flexible as a willow and extremely kind . "

"Not at all, Miss is exaggerating . " After getting his name, Shen Tianyu walked toward the direction the man had pointed out and found that it looked like a congested crowd from afar because there were multiple lines, which shouldn't come as a surprise . They were quite fast too since a lot of the people were just standing around and waiting for the exam to start . She stood aside for a moment and watched which line moved the fastest and quickly stepped into that line . Usually, in situations like these, the shorter lines were actually slower, hence why people did not enter them . Liu=willow & Shan(liang)=kindness
