Wild Crimson Rose: Beloved Handyman Prince's Courtesan Wife Chapter 134

Published at 13th of July 2019 09:59:37 AM Chapter 134

The next round was the Crown Prince against Xi Qi's second place again, which would also be the last match for the day . They wanted to hype things up by leaving the best for last again . Though, this time, they did plan for another round in case things ended early like last time .

Xi Qi's second place was another man, this one being a complete muscle head . The last battle against the Crown Prince had ended in a win for Xi Qi because of his muscles . He was different from Ling Lei in that he didn't have any reservations in using his strength . Despite his young age, he looked as imposing as a military general . His muscles visibly bulged under his somewhat loose robes . The weapon he carried in his hands was a black war hammer, completely flat on one side and a spike protruding from the other . The handle, which was usually made of wood, was made of glistening metal on this war hammer, in a silver reminiscent of modern-day steel .

The Crown Prince, on the other hand, was holding an interesting sword . Unlike usual swords, it was not straight but bent slightly to the inwards in the middle of the blade, almost like half an S shape . Other than that, the usual hand guards and hilt were there . And dissimilar to scimitars, it didn't have any hooks or extra edges and the blade ended in one proper point .

'It looks like a blend between a scimitar and the commonly used straight sword . His hold suggests it wasn't made in a hurry to meet the requirements of this competition . Even back then, I've never heard of any kind of hand held weapon like this . ' Shen Tianyu thought to herself with a slight furrow in her brow but a never-changing, amused smile .

The start signal sounded and the opponent made the first move . He was a well-known figure amongst his peers because of his physique . Xi Qi's second place contestant was named Liu Yizhen from the Liu clan, who were known for their military achievements . Unlike other military families however, they did not look down on women and their capabilities and what they can contribute to both the army and country . Because of that, the Emperor, who dearly loved his wife and only had some pin(1) level consorts that were granted to him before he married her, was quite close with them . And growing up with such parents, naturally, the Crown Prince was close with them also . The two powers have been rumored to be working on a proposal to allow women more freedom in terms of life paths . And accordingly, the Liu family daughters were well-known for being much more beloved than other family's daughters but also more disciplined . It was as if the sons and daughters received the same education, as the women that came from the family, even side families, were able to at least protect themselves . In addition, everyone from the family got along, no matter if they were from the main family or a side family, which further alludes to an equal schooling . Though the women were more combat oriented, it didn't detract from their beauty . In fact, Liu clan women were known to be more beautiful than average since, not only were they loved, they also got enough exercise to not have to resort to extreme means to keep thin .

Liu Yizhen struck the stage with the flat side of his hammer, causing a shockwave of wind to blow in Jing Qie's direction, reaching even the spectator stands . The ground that received the impact caved accordingly, the dent bigger than any other on the stage . It was big enough for a teen man to lay in and deep enough to reach said man's knees . Liu Yizhen picked up his war hammer as if nothing had happened and returned it to a passive position, the end of it that was not weaponized, on the ground .

Jing Yiqiu, the Crown Prince of Jing Qie, audibly gulped, his adam's apple bobbing . He knew what this opening act meant, it was the same as Ling Lei's words to Luo Yenmu . However, as the Crown Prince, he couldn't afford to back down, so he could only hold his sword up with apprehension written all over his face . Liu Yizhen also saw his intent and tightened his grip on his war hammer as he held it by his side, horizontal to the ground this time . Jing Yiqiu charged forward, brandishing his curved sword .

Liu Yizhen held his war hammer with both hands and swung down again, making the crater bigger and sending over another shockwave . This time though, Jing Yiqiu didn't falter and charged straight through as if there wasn't a wind blowing at them . Liu Yizhen lifted his war hammer and swung left, blocking Jing Yiqiu's sword with the side of his hammer and flinging it aside .

The momentum was too strong and Jing Yiqiu stumbled from the impact, wheeling his arms, trying to find his balance fast . Liu Yizhen walked forward at a speed that wasn't quite a run but neither did it look like a leisurely walk . He swung his hammer down at the wheeling Jing Yiqiu, who promptly gave up on standing and dropped to the ground, rolling sideways as the hammer came falling down, striking where he was just a moment ago .

He rolled until he was sure he was a fair distance from him before getting up on his knees . Liu Yizhen ran to catch up and tried to swing his war hammer down again . Jing Yiqiu parried it so it hit the ground beside him, not daring to take the other's monstrous strength head on . The sword slid upward along the war hammer's handle as he stood up, making a loud screeching noise akin to a banshee's scream and lighting up sparks . Liu Yizhen determinedly held onto his war hammer, a partner that was a part of his soul as he was taught that from childhood, and lifted it off the ground, trying to counter . Jing Yiqiu jumped up, trying to outmatch him in terms of speed and managed to swing his sword, leaving a horizontal cut across the other's abdomen, before he dropped and rolled away again . Liu Yizhen's hammer had barely left the ground .
