Soon after that, the award show began. It was hosted by Jimmy Colbert, a famous comedian who had his own talk show.

For the show's first ten minutes, he just made jokes about the musicians gathered there. Unlike the Academy Awards, Indie Music awards didn't have a long runtime.

As it was live, the organizers tried their best not to drag it and quickly go over the awards. Anyone watching the awards would feel like it was pretty rushed and did not let people relax.

Though, most people in this age just watched the funny moments in award shows on MeTube.

But Indie Music awards also had a lot of good points. One of them was the live performances.

Every year, the organizers would give chances to obscure bands to perform on the show. This was a great chance for bands to give electrifying performances.

Some bands especially created a great atmosphere in the whole crowd. One of these bands was 'Ryse'.

When Aiden saw them on the stage, he couldn't help but think that they were a pretty good band.

'I feel like the competition will be tough.'

He thought, thinking of the title track. He obviously had an idea of the bands competing against him for the title track.

Ryse was one of them, and Aiden really wanted to beat them, especially after seeing their performance.

Aiden didn't focus much on Ryse as soon as the award announcements began. They started off with genre-specific awards like Best Rap Song and Rock Song of the year.

A middle-aged black guy won the award for the former. He was crying while on the stage as he talked about how he had struggled for years, and then a teenage band got the award for the latter.

After that, a lot of other awards were given. Indie Music awards had a lot of categories, so a lot of people were getting awards.

Most of these awards were given by celebs or big music producers and even record label owners, and Aiden was surprised even to see Andrew Maxfield, one of the judges of X-Star, giving an award.

'Maybe I should greet him later.'

He thought, seeing Andrew on the stage.

Like that, the award shows continued, and soon, one of the categories that Aiden was nominated for finally came up.

It was the category of the Breakout digital single of the year.

Like its name, the award signified whose single has the best digital numbers. Four people were nominated for it, alongside Aiden, and when a beautiful model came on the stage to announce the winner, Aiden couldn't help but get a bit tense.

'I need to calm down.'

He thought, trying to smile and not look anxious. During these times, the camera will naturally pan over to the nominees, and it was tough to look normal in this situation.

One of the nominees was biting his nails in tension, so Aiden was still acting way better. It was because Wade had told him not to have a lot of hope for this one, as he was pretty much added to this category to fill numbers.

'Hold onto me' had gotten a lot of views, but other songs in the categories have more. One of them even had over 200 million views, so the chances of Aiden winning were very low.

"So, the winner for Breakout Digital single of the year is…" The model presenting the award said, trailing off in her sentence to create suspense.

She could clearly see that the nominees were pretty tense, and it seemed like she was enjoying it. Finally, she muttered the name of the winner.

"Kylie Rodriguez!"

As she announced the name, a young woman quickly stood up, looking shocked and excited simultaneously. She was the singer whose song had gotten over 200 million views and had been on the music scene for a few years now.

On the other hand, Aiden breathed a sigh of relief, filled with bitterness and happiness for the winner. He already knew his chances of winning this award were low, so it didn't affect him much.

He just clapped for the winner like everybody else.

'So, only 'Rising Star Of The Year' is left.'

He thought as Kylie started her speech. He was pretty nervous about it, knowing full well that he actually had a chance to win in that category.

Unlike the category he just lost in, Rising Star Of The Year has pretty tough competition because the other nominees aside from him were not much ahead in terms of songs and fanbase.

Wade had especially told him that if he were going to win tonight, it would be this.

'I hope I'm not too nervous by the time the category comes.'

He thought as the night continued. But unfortunately, there was a big gap between both the categories that Aiden was nominated for, so he had to wait for quite a while.

At that time, he just enjoyed the award show, and he had to say that there were quite funny speeches tonight. One musician actually accidentally thanked both his wife and girlfriend by mistake, making people look awkwardly at him.

Finally, the time for the award of Rising Star Of The Year came after a while. The host, Jimmy Colbert, actually called someone Aiden knew very well on the stage.

It was Steven McDonald, one of the judges from X-Star. Aiden saw him after a few months, but he still looked the same.

He came on stage with a smile and greeted everyone before giving a short introduction to the award.

"Tonight, I'm thrilled to present the winner of this category as we all know how vital it is. At the same time, it was good to see artists who I have enjoyed listening to be nominated for the award."

The last line of his sentence was purely meant for Aiden, and Steven even looked at him. In response, Aiden just smiled, feeling more and more nervous every second.

After that, on the screen beside Steven, the names of the nominees were displayed while the audience anticipated the announcement.

Steven quickly opened up the envelope after the names of the nominees were announced. His eyes shined with a bit of anticipation and surprise as he saw the name written on the envelope.

Aiden looked nervously as he began to take the name of the winner. His heartbeat was on the rise as he finally felt the tension rise up in his chest.

It was like he was standing in a court case where the judge would give the verdict.

He was sure that he was looking hilarious on the broadcast.

Steven looked at the nominees, and everyone else also looked at them, wondering who would go home with the prestigious award.

"So, the winner is..."

As Indie Music awards were getting broadcasted. It was also trending on Sparrow at 13th position with over a 1000 tweets. The awards weren't very popular, but they were airing at a time when other award shows had only released nominations.

So, many people were keeping an eye on it, especially if their favourite musician was nominated.

Moreover, the number of fandoms of bands fighting tonight was a lot, so it gave a lot of trendiness to the awards shows.
