Sid sneered at his butler's remark.

'Why do i feel like i'm being sold off to the woman?'

Does he looked that desperate in his family butler's eyes?

He pinched the space between his brows in frustration.

Eh ... Ehh??

Laurice was dumbstruck with anxiety.

The butler's words were polite, honest and prudent but why does it sound so shady in her own ears?

Does that mean she was now responsible with these father and son duo herself? What does that make her then? A mistress? She does not want any privileges that comes with being the man's mistress. What if the real mother shows up all of sudden leaving her out of the picture? What was she supposed to do then?

Laurice felt a nerve twitched as her eyes turned sullen. Resentment was apparently written all over her beautiful face that which did not escape the man's hawk-like eyes. He had a rough idea what was going on in that pretty head of hers. And she was definitely getting a piece of his own thoughts later. He felt the need the explain to her the circumstances she was bound to face else the woman might go on rampage and walk right out of the door leaving him behind. He had no intention of letting her go. Not ever.

Sid decided to dismiss the butler as he slowy close in the gaps between him and Laurice squishing the little guy in the middle.

He stroke the woman's nosebridge which she was pinching for quite sometime now due to her unspoken frustration while he stare at her gloomy face. His gaze was tender and understanding. He knew the woman's fears and worries. But none of those are significant at all. She was worrying for nothing. The woman stared back at him with a quizzical look unaware of the truth she was about to hear.

With a low and soft voice Sid uttered, "What are you so worried about?" He asked instead. He was betting against himself if Laurice would tell him honestly what she was thinking of. He wanted to hear her speak atleast. He was kind of missing the sound of her own voice already. Laced with indignation and tenderness altogether.

Laurice pursed her lips and peered at the man. With puffed cheeks, she responded indignantly, "Do you even need to ask?" She believed the man wasn't ignorant and was only playing innocent. Well, too bad she was not going to spill the beans in fear of embarrasing herself. She was going to let the man speak of the matter himself instead if not then she was leaving right this instant. She will no longer spare some time goofing around with a married man with a kid. She have no plans of becoming a family wrecker. It was against her principles as a woman.

Glancing at the two figures beside her, Laurice was feeling a bit complicated though. Her emotions completely betraying her. She knew the wall between her and Sid which was already shallow from the beginning was finally in the verge of collapsing down. She worry she might literally fall hard to the man before her. And with such wonderful son as a bonus, she believed her heart was deeply in trouble.

Sid slowly crossed the distance between their faces and gave Laurice a lingering kiss on her temple.

Laurice was stunned. Her mind stopped functioning for a minute. When she recovered her wits, she tilted upwards to look at the man who gave him a peck in the forehead. No, it was no peck actually. The feel of his lips pressed against her forehead left a trace of lingering feeling for what felt like a thousand promises for a thousand years. Was she mistaken? Was she overthinking this?

Laurice was taken aback. Sid was looking at her intently with an affectionate gaze. Was that a no, then? Not only she was lost for words, she was also able to find the answers in the man's silence as he stared down at her with piercing eyes. Their gazes locked against each other for who knows how long.

To tell the truth, only Little Louie knows how long. He was staring at both his father and his 'mother' in astonishment. Not long after, his shock and curiosity turned into bitterness. An air of melancholy surrounded him in an instant.

Both Laurice and Sid was suddenly distracted by the gloominess looming around them. Their gazes fell towards the little sullen figure below them who was apparently wearing a scowl on his face.

"I want to kiss mommy as well." He muttered. His childlike voice was soft and filled with sorrow.

Laurice was momentarily stunned. Ignoring her initial thoughts, she tossed the man aside and went on her knees unhesitatingly. Faced by the handsome child pulling such a long face, her poor little heart ached.

She gently cooped Little Louie's face and gave him a huge kiss which gave off a light smacking sound. The child's face lit up a bit with the sudden kiss.

"Now it's your turn to kiss me, sweetie." Laurice said afterwards as she tilted her head to the side with her plump cheeks facing the child seemingly waiting for a kiss.

Little Louie blushed sheepishly and followed suit cheerily. He planted a kiss on Laurice's soft cheeks making her blush in return.

"I love you, mommy." He said right after rendering Laurice speechless in an instant.

For a moment there, she did not know how to respond. She was still bugged by her worries but hearing the child's voice was stirring her instincts incessantly. Her heart faltered.

With a low voice she muttered under her breath the words as her heart was filled to the brim with indescribable feelings towards the child.

"I love you too." It was indeed a heartfelt reply.

Sid: " ... "

The man sighed inwardly.

He knew right there and then, that he was utterly defeated. Why couldn't he just say the words himself? He deserve her 'i love you too' as well.

Right around the corner in the lounge area, a few staffs were peering at the direction of the three beautiful people from the exit hall. Their eyes were bulging out of their sockets since their arrival moments ago. And now they were already gasping in their breaths.

What had they just witnessed?!

It all felt like a dream.

Were they hallucinating instead?

The boss, together with a little child whom they believed was allegedly the son they haven't seen ever was spending a rather leisurely time together with a stunning woman! And they all looked affectionate towards each other it was blinding their sight!

This is gonna be the talk of the town for sure!

It appears that their outstanding and drop dead gorgeous boss was no longer single! The women staffs around were already mourning over their broken hearts. The men on the other hand sneered at their ridiculousness. But they were also drawn towards the woman accompanying the chairman. So it seems like she was the type their boss was looking for a woman. She was desirable and possessed a rather unique beauty leaving them all breathless.

'Good job, boss!' They approved of their relationship already. Well not that their opinion matters, but they believed the two was well suited to each other.

All of the employees were fawning over the scene before them, but no matter how much they wanted to take pictures of the intimate moment being shared by the three figures, they can only look from a distance. If any news was to get out from this sudden event, then they will be the first ones to be blamed. They could not afford to lose their jobs. They sighed in resignation as they watched the couple together with the little one laced their hands back together as they stride outside the building.
