Until i fall inlove again 52 Chapter 52: Our Little Louie's coming

He groaned inwardly.

Just why do people keep calling and interrupting him whenever he's with his 'wife'?!

After three rings, Sid finally answered the phone which he retrieved from a desk drawer situated in one corner which was evidently the man's personal work space in the penthouse along with Laurice's purse. He casted a sidelong glance at the woman before handing it over to her. He kept his eyes towards Laurice's direction even after he picked up the phone. His gaze was indulgent and tender. It was the kind of look that seems to say, his attempt to appease the 'wife' has been fulfilled and it felt good to pamper the 'wife'. If only the husband could get another reward, then his satisfaction would be complete.

But that reward would surely be in vain now judging by the woman's expression. His eyes flickered.

Laurice hurriedly grabbed her purse from Sid to check her phone from inside and found out it was switched off.

'Dead batt? That's odd.'

She haven't been using it lately though.

Laurice scratched the side of her face as she tried to open it a few more times. Still her phone did not switched on. It appears to be battery drained. She might have probably forgotten to charge it for days. Given the situation, no one could indeed contact her since her phone was off. She did not know if she should be relieved or worried about it.

There was silence on the line when Sid accepted the call. His brows creased and said impatiently over the person on the other line, "Speak." He sounded like he was annoyed, there's no doubt about it.

The person on the other line felt even more tense and anxious when he heard the voice. The tone was also a bit off and dull. It was as if the man was absolutely unwilling to take the call at the moment.

The person on the other side of the line knew exactly that, and he felt even more guilty and worried about the fact that the man indeed had company at the moment and he obviously did not want to be disturbed at all. A twinge of fear crept in his heart and felt a shiver run down his spine.

'He's dead!'

He knew the man's circumstances but what else can he do? He was left with no other options today. It was only yesterday that his second young master was acting all weird, uneasy and absolutely frightening. Today however, it was the little young master who was throwing a huge tantrum at the villa! Even the nanny was left unspared! He had to take action or else, if anything was to happen to the child, he will be the only one to answer to the little master's father and grandmother. The two forces will be merciless towards his negligence then for sure.

"Young master." Butler Han preamble. He sounded like he was about to take an oath as a servant before begging to be pardoned for his shortcomings.

"What is it?" Sid probed. Judging by his family butler's voice, something must have happened that needed his urgent attention.

"I deeply apologize young master, but we are currently on our way to W Residences now and will arrive soon enough. The little young master refuses to eat breakfast and kept asking for young miss. It seemed he knew all along, young master." The butler briefly explained the matter. He knew his master had a full grasp of the situation at hand, no need to mention it anymore and all the more so, since the little one in question was already growing mushroom in one corner of the car. Little Louie was sulking. The ambience inside the vehicle was depressing and pitiful.

'Little Louie looked like a lone-wolf abandoned by his wife, whilst the woman had seemingly eloped with her lover.'

Looking for Laurice? Not him?

This was what registered in his mind while he eyed the woman in question. Sid was amused by this new realization. Rather than feeling envy and  bitterness, he was actually feeling a profound sense of relief and warmth with the fact that his son was getting attached with the woman as well. Her influence towards the both of them is growing and getting stronger.

"Hmm. Alright." Sid replied after a good five seconds.

Alright? Was he absolved?!

Butler Han was dumbfounded.

Good heavens! His young master was truly considerate! He was initially planning to kow tow before his young master but it seemed there was nothing to worry about it at all and that it was alright to meet with them now. The little young master will also be spared! He will surely be pleased! The butler thought it must have been the woman's doing.

The phone call ended so soon with only a few exchange of lines. Laurice shy away and did not ask Sid about it no matter how curious she was. Anyhow, she could not interfere with the man's affairs at all. She was in no position to inquire whatsoever. Only if it has something to do with her, then she will certainly be concerned as well.

"Louie's coming." Sid said.

Laurice noticed the man was slowly approaching her. Soon Sid was already towering beside her. His presence was just too overwhelming. He was really tall and dashing she could not help herself but gaped at him, failing to conceal the apparent awe and admiration in her eyes. Sid was completely satisfied with this discovery.

'Just like a noble prince.'

Laurice wasn't a fan of fairytales. Even when she was just a child, she would opt to hearing her father's little stories about his own experiences and such. Although she likes fiction, she was practical and a pragmatist. An idealless woman. But with such a man's presence, Laurice felt like she was looking at something beyond her imagination. And she always finds herself in a trance whenever she looked at him.

Laurice regained back her senses when the words registered in her mind.

'Little Louie's coming?'

"Oh my! Little Louie's coming? That's great! I kind of missed him actually." Laurice exclaimed. She was getting excited all of a sudden. The image of the sweet little boy emerged in her head and she was pleased! She hurriedly gathered her weight back on the dining area and sprawled over the table.

"Oh, oh! You think these are enough though? Should i cook some more? Our little Louie probably needs to eat more so he would grow even more handsome and cute!" Laurice was babbling away excitedly. She darted towards the kitchen and ransacked the pantry as expected.

Surprisingly, Laurice failed to realize the words that escaped her mouth just now which rendered the man absolutely speechless. Sid was dumbstruck.

'Our little Louie' She said.

The woman said that naturally as if she was referring to their own son instead. Sid felt a gentle hand touched his heart with her words. His expression was filled with warmth and longing. His gaze deepened at the woman whom he had fallen in love with.
