After the third elder died at the hands of the Scaleborn, the remaining elders saw that their usefulness had reached its expiration and that the quest to subdue the dragon was over, instead of becoming of a pile of acid on the floor they decided to become Riddick's strength.

The war was ongoing and there was no time to be soft, it was regretful but it was the elder's decision and he was going to use their energy to defeat their opponent. Venekious felt regret at his bad habit of playing with his prey, he hadn't had any exercise in so many years that he neglected rule number 1, never underestimate your opponent. Venekious thought about playing with the invaders by disguising himself as a Scaleborn and killing them during the group fight when they weren't expecting it.

The plan backfired and he was now in a precarious situation, from the decisiveness of the Demon elders to self immolate to the Magical Music that increased his enemies resistance and forced him to use his strongest poison, all of it was outside his expectation. But the biggest miscalculation happened to be the attack on the dwarf that was reflected onto himself and hurt him internally.

Venekious was a skimmer and not too great at combat and in the middle of his desperation, anger started to sprout and as he threw caution to the wind and started a slug fight, he shouted at Riddick.

"SO YOU ARE THE SON OF THAT BITCH MAELYN AND THAT VAL'GUN...HA HA HA … COME... I KILLED YOUR MOTHER, FATHER AND UNCLE ONE MORE WON'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE"

Venekious used one of his claws and without thinking it twice penetrated his own abdomen and took out a black organ and tossed it towards Jazz. It had a putrid smell and the moment it touched the floor started to melt it, it was the gland responsible for the production of the deadly poison.

The physical pain that Venekious experienced was enough to wake him up from the effects of the requiem but it was too late. The moment he woke up, was the moment he realized that he was no longer able to sustain his Endless Poisonous Breath.
