Tyrant 185 The Tenebrous Sanctum part 2

The Saurolisk appeared once more in the upright position and was already beside the Basilisk that had yet to recover from the damage inflicted by the spikes. The creature opened his jaws and went straight for the neck of the basilisk that barely manage to react and used Petrifying Ray as a reflex to defend itself.

The Body of the Saurolisk started to turn to stone as his jaws penetrated the serpent's skin releasing all the bacteria kept inside his mouth, the Basilisk flailed around desperately but the pressure from the Saurolisk Jaws and the decomposition from the bacteria made so that it was easier to rip through.

The fight was an eye opener for Rahz and the others, they watch for about 5 minutes and when everything was set and done, it was pretty much a double K.O. Half of the Saurolisk was turned to stone and this included some of his vital organs that stopped functioning properly eventually causing his death.

The basilisk died as well in the middle of the Saurolisk's Jaws with half his head separated from its body. It struggled fiercely it was unable to free itself and the constant attack from the bacteria made it impossible to survive.

"It is over guys and we need to move, we only have 5 days to reach the temple and kill the Captain Guy to get the reward. Don't forget this is fabricated by the sphere in the Temple of the Rising Sun"

The last sentence from Bato snapped all of them back to reality, it was all a training exercise and although the courage of both beast was commendable, time was of the essence and they couldn't hang around to create graves or things of that nature.

Bato took point as they moved up the river and killed anything that looked to be alone while they sneak around the groups of creatures that seem to be social in nature. On their way towards the sanctum, they saw many more fights of increasingly more powerful creatures and this allowed them to gain a new appreciation for Poison and Disease users such as Elune.

The Lethality and versatility of the skills that relied on this type of power was incredibly high, if it wasn't for Jazz using his song of elements in conjunction with his Avatar Item that increases the effects of all his songs by 190% they would have fallen prey to some creatures that were able to produce poison that was invisible to the naked eye.

The further they moved up the river, the narrower their road became and one day after they started the challenge, the team reached the point where they could see the ruins outside the Sanctum.

"We are making great time guys, I think we should be able to reach the outer part after we climb that waterfall"

The water hitting the bottom of the clift was clearly audible and filled the team with excitement, however, they were not able to see the bottom of the cliff at that moment due to the vegetation.

Rahz and the others did not let their guard down and when they finally stepped through the last tree, they saw a very tall waterfall about 170 ft in height but the amount of water falling was not massive. The lack of water volume moving through and falling made it so that some of the water drops never made it to the ground and the amount that did make it, created a pretty shallow stream. The waterfall was a clear divider line between the outer and inner part of the tenebrous floating island and there was no way to continue on without climbing to the higher level.

To top it all off the water that did made it to the ground felled on top of a 20 ft wind serpent that was coil up at the base of the cliff.

The scales of the wind serpent were aquamarine in color and shone with the rays of the sun and created a beautiful contrast against the water falling on it.

The moment Rahz and the others came to the mouth of the cliff, it was as if somebody had stood in the serpents tail as it immediately lifted her head. The red eyes swept the entrance to her 'lair' and spot it the few creatures that were disrespecting her sovereignty over the area.

HISSS!

Thanks to the oil given by the Erudite at the beginning of the challenge, the Wind Serpent was not able to determine via her senses what the four creatures in front of her were. In her eyes they were just stupid beast that gained a little bit of power and fancy themselves a new crib.

The Wind Serpent was a Level 40 beast and had two attributes, one was poison which was very much in line with the theme of the island but the second one was a rare one, it was illusion.

The lack of response to her warning angered her and as she started to unwind, the scales on her body started to distort and the beautiful colors started to separate from her skin.

The skin of the serpent took a vibrant green color while the other colors looked like a ghost separating from it, creating another serpent that translucent blue. Both serpents couldn't be more identical but at the same time more different, at least in the physical aspect.

The translucent serpent looked incorporeal while the green one seemed to have a very strong physical body.

"I never encountered anything like this but I think we should split the group into two teams" said Bato.

"How about... you and Jazz take on the Green one while me and Riddick handle whatever the other one is"

"Sure!"

Bato appreciated right away Rahz's smart decision, they had been fighting for a whole day and in that time, he was able to familiarize himself with some of the skills each of the Demon Squad members used and the way they fought. It was clear that Jazz's Elemental song was vital in the fight against the Green Wind Serpent as it would provide them with the protection they needed against poison attacks, while Rahz and Riddick displayed ample control of the Chaos Flames that might be able to damage the illusory beast.

Rahz and Riddick didn't waste any time and both unleash 10 Chaos Blades towards the Wind serpent to call its attention. The Chaos Fire energy blades travel fast but not fast enough, the wind serpent disappeared and then 2 illusory serpents a little smaller in size took its place.

The Serpent used the activation of the skill to avoid the Blades that continued on and hit the face of the cliff.

BOOM!

The Two Illusory Wind Serpents enraged and charged at the creatures challenging her status as the boss of the area.

The Chaos Blade didn't hit the target but they achieved their purpose, to separate the illusory one from its counterpart so that Bato and Jazz had room to work.

The Monk and the Bard did not waste any time and thanks to Accelerando, Bato move super fast and appeared within striking distance of the Green Wind Serpent and activated Whirlwind Dragon Punch.

Whoosh whoosh Whoosh

The wind whistle as 100 wind dragons flew in the direction of the Serpent that looked at bato with disdain as it opened its mouth and used a skill like it was nothing, Acid Spray. The acid was serious business and as it covered Bato's wind dragons it corroded them in real time.

Bato was within 20 ft from the serpent for 5 seconds and he noticed that his own defensive aura was being corrode. Bato frowned at his discovery and knew that it was not going to be easy to beat the creature, Elemental Song was active but the toxic aura of the serpent still manage to corrode his own defensive Ki.

Sigh…

"If I could used my Pearls of Enlightenment this guy would be history in a matter of seconds".
