Rennes threw two bags of gold coins to Andrew and asked him to recruit archers and guide the hunters. Andrew looked pale touching the heavy bag, and he silently made up his mind. After a Quick explanation of what to do, Rennes walked down to the cellar. The cellar is located behind the yard, and stores a small amount of fruit wine and grain. At the request of Rennes, Heidi cleared those things out. The cellar had the pungent smell of sulphur when Rennes walked in, making him feel slightly intoxicated. One part salpeter and three parts charcoal, this term roughly reflects the ratio of chemicals for making black powder. The specific proportion is naturally not just that simple, as it is depends on the purity of the chemicals, but Rennes was no stranger to the formula.
Two days later.
Heidi, dressed in a light green palace skirt, cautiously put a bowl of broth and a loaf ot bread Into Renness room. (EN: Everyone knows what broth is? I didn’t know it was the same as bouillon and I had to look it up gahaha)Before she reached Rennes room, she heard a loud noise. The earth shook down. A drop of broth splashed to the ground stirring up a bit of dust. “Is the wizard here?” Heidi’s face was in Deep panic. She ran out the door and bumped Into Andrew, who looked nervous. “What about the baron?” Andrew asked . “My brother is still…” said Heidi, dismayed.
The two heard someone laugh loudly inside. “Andrew, come here!” Renne’s voice came from behind the door. Andrew frowned, hesitantly, he grasped the hilt and walked over. When he saw Rennes face black and the huge hole behind him, Andrew froze with his mouth wide open. Rennes proudly pointed to the hole and said: “How about it, is the power of the exposives that I’ve made enough?” Andrew nodded awkwardly: “This is the power of bombs that Lord baron made?
Rennes stared at Andrew with a rustic look and waved him: “So,we can change our plans.”
The next day a white owl flew into the baron’s house. After circling over the Baron House, it turned into a little white light, and a majestic idol was seen inside the light.
“Baron Rennes, please execute the witch-hunting order immediately. If there are no actions within two days, it will be viewed as blasphemy by our church.” A cruel voice emanated from the idol and spread throughout the Dionysis town.
Rennes came out of the room and Iooked at the idol that gradually faded away. Andrew stood by his side, no joy or sadness displayed on his face. Heidi grabbed a purple-and-black nobleman’s robe and ran out of her room to see the worry in Renne’s eyes.
“Brother…” Rennes waved his hand: “Don’t worry.
When he was alone on Earth, he always envied those who had brothers and sisters. These Days, he had grown accustomed to Heidi being his sister.
His sudden change made Heidi, who only ever feared him, gradually recognizing him as a brother. “We will go tomorrow.” Rennes looked to Andrew.
Andrew nodded. “Heidi, you come with me.”
Inside, Rennes put a peice of paper on the table:
“Sign it here on the top”
After seeing the contents of the paper, she changed her face and said: “No, no, brother!”
Seeing her looking so resolute, Rennes smiled gratefuly: “Anyway, I don’t have other relatives. If something happens to me that leads to my other relatives coming, giving Dionysis Town trouble, I want you to have the title!"
This paper on the table was the kingdom inheritance Contract. He intended for Heidi to inherit his title if he suffered misfortune. Heidi’s performance was completely beyond Renne’s expectations. She threw of her submissive appearence, and ripped the paper apart several times.
“Brother, it must be lonely going on such a mission." Heidi’s eyes were red and swollen. She looked firmly at Rennes. "Let me go with you, okay?
“You…” Rennes was touched, speachless when Heidi suddenly embraced him and cried: “No one has ever been so kind to me like my brother. Don’t let anything bad happen to You.” Rennes felt something slowly break inside of him.“
“I’ll be fine,” he slowly said.
…..
A group of six people, carrying large parcels, rode forward toward the Giant Bear Mountain. As they passed by the town, the vendors hurriedly withdrew into the housees and even the most lively pubs quieted down.
Looking at the ruined house, Rennes silently shook his head. The Giant bear Town’s really poor. If he come back alive, perhaps he will have the time to really make the town flourish! After all, it is his own territory.
On the empty street, a chubby middle-aged man appeared with several attendants. The man was wearing a black robe with gold lace trim at the neckline, and his little eyes flashing
"I heard that Lord baron is going to hunt down wizard today. I have to thank the people of the giant bear town for their bravery and fearlessness of behalf of Revelstoke.” The mans voice held a bit of sarcasm. Rennes’s Eyes narrowed, when his messy memories formed an impression of the person.
This man named Glenn was an ore salesman. After the discovery of an iron ore vein in the Town last month, he appeared in the area, trying to force the right to mine iron ore from Rennes. He put the price very low, but Rennes had a hard-hearted brain, so he hadn’t agreed to the offer.
He had used Rennes drunk-moment to make him take the wizard-hunting mission. It is said that this sinister business man was related to the Viscount Lord Harry of Ferrier City. AAA
Due to that, Rennes had been put in a situation where he could even lose his Life. Rennes is not willing to give up. He stared glanced at Glenn, thinking of how to kill the guy.
Glenn thought that the baron in front of him was still the same piece of shit as before. He leaned forward and laughed, saying: ”In fact, lord baron, you don’t have to die. I do know the viscount of Ferrier. "He lowered his voice and said:
"As long as you are willing to contribute that iron ore, and half of your territory, I am willing to go…”
Before Glenn finished speaking, Rennes hit him, making Glenn fall down to the ground. "Too see a civilian still daring to ride on a horse, not saluting me, are You trying to challange the authority of us nobles?" Rennes said coldly. Two of Glenn’s men quickly rushed to lift him up, angrily staring at Rennes. Rennes looked over at Andrew with a emotion-less look: “These people openly defy the nobles authority, and violate the laws of the kingdom! Andrew, kill them!”
Glenn pointed at at Rennes, screaming as Andrew drew his sword: “You dare! I’m not like those lowly civilians!” Andrew quickly slew the two attendants, blood splattering on Rennes trouser legs. His eyes were blinking. To survive in this world, killing is a must-have ability! When Andrews sword-tip pointed to Glenn’s chest, this treacherous ore merchant finaly succumbed, and he yelled and yelled down on the ground shouting for mercy. “Baron.” Andrew’s hand made a slight gesture. Rennes frowned and glanced at the people who peeked through their windows, realizing that it was not wise to kill such a wealthy ore merchant when such a large crowd of people was watching. He was agonized and said, “Forget it. We’ll spare him this time.” Glenn’s face shone. He just bent his lips proudly and was just about to take the opportunity to mock Rennes, when Rennes suddenly said: “‘But, openly challenge a kingdom aristocrat can not go unpunished, cut one of his fingers off.” Glenns Eyes widened in horror. “No!” Andrew swung his sword, and with extreme precision, cut off Glenns thumb. The four Archers and hunters that Andrew had recruited all slightly shivered, silently shaking their heads thinking of some of the rumours they’d heard. Such a decisive aristocrat couldn’t have taken the wizard-hunting order without the confidence of completing it, right?
