Transcending Limits 43 The Four Passages

Just as he was about to give the order, he thought of Sheng Tian's power. Even if they could kill him, they will pay a huge price.

The ones ultimately benefitting from this ordeal would be Qin Lie's and Qin Qing's team.

This is a huge trap!

It must have been set up by these two teams!

'If I make a single wrong step, everything would be for naught.' he thought.

He looked at Qin Qing's and Qin Lie's face which had an expression of shock and he cursed in his mind 'It seems like these two fools also started fooling others. Hmph, But you can't fool me.'

Right at that moment, Qin Cheng caught the slight satisfaction in Ling Chen's eyes.

He waved his hands, " Follow me." at his teammates and entered the passage.

Qin Lie's team entered next. Qin Qing's followed.

Everyone was curious to why Qin Cheng didn't kill Sheng Tian on the spot.

Even Leng Yue Yan was no exception.

As Sheng Tian and Leng Yue Yan were at the last ones to enter, she turned to look at him, her beautiful cold eyes now had a bit of curiosity "Why?"

It's not like she didn't see intelligent or wise people. But someone like Sheng Tian was definitely unique.

Hearing her cold voice which was like a celestial song, Sheng Tian smiled lightly "It's because of himself."

She was a bit confused by his words "Himself?".

She showed the rare confusion as she looked like a little girl who didn't understand the math, it was very cute.

Sheng Tian continued "In the eyes of a schemer, everyone else is a schemer too. He plots against people and does things without getting himself directly involved. The thing he fears would be he himself being plotted against.

He would have most probably thought that me scolding him was a scheme to weaken his team.

It's pretty rational that he thinks this way, but he didn't consider the actual probability of it happening given the relationship between Qin Qing and Qin Lie as well as the possibility of it being me acting by myself alone."

Leng Yue Yan found his explanation to be pretty logical.

A person tends to look at the world from his own glasses called perspective.

A Kind person would find kindness in the world and a hypocrite will find hypocrisy.

Eyes filled with filth would never see the World clean.

A person is not able to see the truth of the world because of his personal opinions and delusions in his mind.

Sheng Tian flashed a lazy smile and resumed walking. Leng Yue Yan was stunned.

He knew the opponent's weakness too well and used it against him.

Despite her innate coldness, she felt a chill down her spine imagining the terror of such an enemy once he has enough power.

The contestants encountered a bunch of difficulties along the way which became harder and harder. With the combined efforts, they managed to overcome the hurdles.

After a while, they reached the end of the passage.

Sheng Tian closed his eyes due to the sudden transition from darkness to dazzling light.

As he slowly opened his eyes, Sheng Tian saw the lofty pillars supporting the vast room they just entered.

The walls were filled with the strange engravings.

One such engraving on the yellow walls was the drawings of a man thrown into pool of blood under an altar. After the man came out of the altar, he was more muscular, taller and looked more cruel.

Sheng Tian's pupils constricted.

Before he could make out some sense of the diagram, a gasp sounded..

He looked in the direction and saw a black coloured liquid mass wriggling on the ground. It emitted a fierce and blood thirsty aura.

Slowly, it formed two tubes like structures, then a cube above the tubes, then it transformed into a man!

What the hell? The black jelly just became a fighting humanoid? Immediately, it attacked the group of 29 people.

In it's black jelly hand, a large sabre appeared out of nowhere. Slashing it as the strike filled the air with killing intent, the puppet dashed forward.

The group who came to the expedition were no ordinary people. Their mental fortitude was very higher than their peers. They quickly retreated and brought out their weapons.

The puppet's strength was at the 6th stage of the Earth realm. Even though it should not be a threat to the group, its thick killing intent made it a dreadful existence.

Sheng Tian silently retreated to the back and started shouting "Yes. Hit it Young Master Qin Cheng."

All the contestants turned back and rolled their eyes at him.

This fellow is the only one of his kind.

"Go for it Young Master Qin Lie, press it down and rip off its clothes."

Qin Lie who was about to attack the puppet stumbled and fell head first hearing Sheng Tian's words.

'Damn, do I look like someone who forces himself on males? And I don't even know if that puppet is male....wait, what the hell am I thinking and why the hell are you shouting without fighting?' Showing his astounding butt to everyone, Qin Lie thought deeply lost in thoughts as he stayed on ground.

"Qin Lie!" the shaky voice of his Qian Yi, his fiancee woke him up.

When he raised his head, a sabre slashed down.

"Oh Fuck!" he cursed as he covered his head with his arms.

~CLANG~

A clash of metals sounded as Qin Lie accepted his fate.

"Ling Chen can't hide his feelings for Qin Lie and saves him proving their relationship." a voice sounded in his ears.

Wasn't he supposed to be dead? How can he still hear and what the hell is that guy saying?

Confused, he slowly opened his eyes.

In front of him was a broad back shielding him from all the dangers.

Looking at Ling Chen who saved him, Qin Lie's heart felt warmth as he recalled the certain fateful night and Ling Chen's naked body. Unknowingly, he blushed and rubbed his legs together.

Ling Chen who heard Sheng Tian's words almost spit out blood in anger.

'Bastard! I'm only helping him because he is Qin Qing's brother. She would be sad to see him die. Now you made my heroic act a show of romance. Don't you have any mercy?!'

Everyone looked at the duo strangely as they saw Ling Chen standing dumbly and Qin Lie rubbing his legs vigorously.

"Ahem, Young master Qin Cheng. You are in public, please restrain yourself." Sheng Tian humbly said.

The male contestants in Qin Lie's team were sweating profusely while the female members were whispering, their faces blushing as they pointed at Qin Lie and Ling Chen.

"Stop it you bastard!" Ling Chen yelled, his face red with rage.

"I understand, I have no qualifications to suggest your lover. Apologies." Sheng Tian said with a sorry tone but his expression had no sorry at all.

Soon, under the continuous attacks of the youngsters, the puppet was filled with holes and was finally blasted back into its jelly form and evaporated.

Sheng Tian sighed deeply and said "Haa, fortunately I'm here for you guys. Otherwise, you would have never returned. You are not even thanking me. Ungrateful bastards."

Everyone rolled their eyes speechlessly.

When Ling Chen wanted to attack Sheng Tian, 50 puppets appeared in the room scaring the hell out of them.

Everyone's expression turned serious except Sheng Tian who seemed to be watching a good movie and of course, Leng Yue Yan, that same cold indifference.

The 50 puppet warriors brandished their various weapons and pounced at the contestants.

Qin Lie, the big guy, was using his heavy sword to blast away numerous puppets.

The pair from Rising Valley Sect had terrifying compatibility in group combat as they used it to their advantage.

The Sword brothers duo of Sacred Sword Sect fought alone, yet they were in the company of numerous sword waves slicing apart the puppets.

Qin Cheng's fought the least, yet was one of the most dangerous.

Qin Qing was also using her green coloured sword strikes to fight. Occasionally, she would turn to look at Ling Chen to see if he was alright.

Ling Chen, like a hero, was just blasting away the puppets with his sabre.

He was the most eye-catching due to the sheer destruction and efficiency he displayed.

Liu Feifei was doing great but the difference was obvious.

Leng Yue Yan just used a single 'Butterfly of Winter' to destroy freeze numerous puppets and crack them to pieces.

Her sword strikes were also just as terrifying. She didn't fight seriously but everyone guessed that she was stronger than Ling Chen.

Sheng Tian was nonchalantly dodging the attacks and having fun.

Fortunately, nobody had time to spare time to observe him otherwise they would have spit out blood. Whenever he could, he would just kick the puppets back into the group.

He knew better than anyone that it could most likely be a trap and they were now heading straight into it. Hence, he didn't want to be injured at any cost and waste unnecessary energy.

Finally, under the continuous efforts of Sheng Tian and co., the puppets were destroyed.

Many had minor injuries. only one disciple had major injuries.

The Ancient voice sounded "Congratulations on passing through the first entrance. After you pass the third entrance, the fated one would have my legacy. And there are treasures."

Then the door to the next room opened or may be saying doors is better. There were four passages namely 'Rage', 'Grief', 'Greed', 'Pleasure'.

The Ancient Voice mentioned nothing about this. Now, which way are they supposed to choose?

He shook his head and thought 'All the roads lead to Rome.'

The test may not be choosing a road rather sustaining it and getting through.

Everyone was tired after the fight.

They wanted to rest and recover to peak. But then, something startled them.

The gates to the passages slowly started closing; the more they closed, the faster they became.

Seeing this, no one hesitated as they each took a gate.

Sheng Tian took the gate of 'Rage.

Feeling things would be the opposite of what is written, no one took 'Pleasure' except the two Ice sisters.

Majority of them choose Grief and Greed. The rest chose Rage.

The moment he entered inside, he felt .... nothing actually!

The entrance door closed. He looked back and took a step ahead.

He felt a little fury bubbling up in him. Not just him, the other six people which included the ones from Qin Clan, noble families and Sword brothers also felt the same.

With one more step, it became clear to him. This is not about winning others, it is about winning yourself, your emotions. But it can't be only that one thing, right?

As he continued walking forward, he started to feel angry for no apparent reason. He needed to beat up someone. Before he could take a step further, he heard a roar from behind.

A member of the noble family from Qin Cheng's group with eyes bloodshot summoned his sabre, roared and slashed at the fellow beside him.

The other fellow was struggling to suppress his emotions. But when he saw the attack, he quickly brandished his halberd and blocked it.

Still, he was injured and coughed up blood. Enraged, he wanted nothing more than to rip him to shreds. His eyes also turned bloodshot as he pierced the halberd forward.

*TING* *TING*

They started fighting.

The other people from the Qin Clan and noble families also started getting angry as they shouted the fighting members to stop. The fighters didn't listen.

This incensed them further as even though they were aware that they were in a passage and undergoing a trial, they couldn't let it go. Their emotions got the better of them.

The rest drew out their weapons and attacked the fighters.

Sheng Tian walked forward. But he too felt himself becoming angry as he wanted to snap off their necks and cut them to pieces.

Sheng Tian's rationality kicked in and stopped his action. It was now that he was a bit scared by this level of influence.

Then he thought of how things would go in the 'Pleasure' passage.

His thoughts turned perverted a bit and his Rage subsided. He quickly walked forward and thanked himself for getting such an idea to use his pervertedness to his gain.

In the passage, the more profound energy is used, the greater the effects will be. So, he didn't use profound energy and simply walking forward.

Soon, Sheng Tian was standing 100m from the entrance.

Right when he thought it was going to be over, he saw the same black jelly puppet.

It is not a problem for him to destroy it, but looking at its thick armor, it must have been designed to prolong the fight thus increasing the rage exponentially and making one lose rationality.

Good Idea on devising such strategy, he praised. But a very bad idea for using it on me, he cursed.

He didn't think much because he felt that this was the last obstacle.

Sheng Tian exited the passage as the puppet's parts rained at the entrance.

In front of him was a Pure White Circular formation. When he was about to check it out, he heard footsteps from behind.

Sheng Tian saw the ones from the greed passage had many wounds and a member less.

And the ones with grief looked like they just lost their parents along with their children, incredibly gloomy.

Surprisingly, even Leng Yue Yan's Ice cold face had a slight sign of sorrow which could invoke the pity of the masses. Her sword was dyed in blood! They surprisingly lost two members!

Sheng Tian turned to the one last passage.

He wondered how it would be inside the pleasure passage.

Then, two figures slowly walked out of.

An intoxicating smell filled the air as Sheng Tian's jaw dropped looking at the two Ice sisters whose faces are red like they were drunk, their legs were shaking and their clothes, lower garments, all seemed to be ...wet! Something was flowing down their long legs.

It was a very enchanting and enthralling sight.

This is the miracle of the Pleasure Passage!

He felt that it was a pity that he didn't see the details of such miraculous phenomena.

They quickly waved their shaking hands before anyone else could see them and covered themselves with an Ice Curtain.

Other than Sheng Tian, no one else saw them.

The poor sisters didn't know that a big bad wolf already saw everything.

Sheng Tian closed his eyes and used his Photographic memory to display the previous scene clearly.

A smile formed on his face, lecherous enough to scare away countless young maidens.
