Transcending Limits 4 The Unconventional Fiancee

As if struck by lightning, Sheng Tian came to a sudden halt.

The Young woman seemed to be around 16 or 17 years old.

She had a pair of thin eyebrows curved like crescent moons above incredibly magnificent eyes which seemed like spring water, incomparably clear.

A veil covered her face except for her eyes, but he was sure that the beauty underneath was enough to destroy nations.

She had the body of a goddess with no flaws. And with an innate calm disposition, she walked elegantly.

Sheng Tian never imagined that such a beautiful woman could exist. Maybe all the beauty from the earth's models combined would still bow down at this young woman's feet.

However, he quickly regained his composure and continued walking forward.

The Young Woman nodded to the Old Man.

"One day, she proposed a marriage between the two of you and I couldn't refuse. But seeing you in the past few years, now I know better.

"Martial Uncle, please." a sweet voice soft like cotton sounded breaking the harsh voice of the Old Man.

The Old Man stopped talking and looked at the Young Woman. His expression altered between a frown and calm look before he eventually sighed and disappeared from the place instantly.

'What the heck, he disappeared just like that?' Sheng Tian was stupefied but managed to keep his face calm.

'As expected of the Old Man, next is the young missy's arrogance. And I will be done with these people for once and for all.' Sheng Tian patiently listened and turned his head to the young woman.

The Young Woman's eyes looked into his before she slowly walked to the shade of a Large Tree.

"This is a Storage Ring. Drip it with a drop of your blood." she said.

Sheng Tian looked at her curiously and used the profound energy inside his body to pierce a bit of his skin on the Index finger. Slowly, a drop of blood came out and fell on the ring.

The ring shone with a bright light before it turned into a flash of light before it returned to normal.

"You will be able to use it with your spirit sense once you reach Nascent Soul Realm." she spoke calmly as if nothing happened.

"I don't know when I will be able to reach my goal, it might be longer than your lifespan. So, you should stop any hopes of living together. You can marry someone else, I don't mind as I'm not entirely keeping the promise. It's in your best interests if you live with the mortals instead of risking your life."

She nodded at him and was about to say "Farewell" when he cut her out saying "Why do you give these precious things to me who has no talent at all? You had a choice not to."

"Because that's my choice." she said.

Sheng Tian was tongue-tied by that answer. He didn't see this coming, at all.

Sighing at the unexpected twist, he said with a smile "Call me Sheng Tian from now. How should I call you?"

Looking at the smile which seemed to be beaming confidence, Meng Xin was at a loss for words.

This fiancee of hers was supposed to be a timid, depressed, weak guy. Even last year, he was someone who lost all hope in life. She wanted to help him but her master said that she shouldn't interfere till he turned 16 years leading to the current situation.

But her rational self soon kicked in as she smiled back lightly, akin to flowers blossoming and said "I'm Meng Xin. I hope you live well. After you reach the Nascent Soul Realm, you will be able to use the Contact Token in the storage ring for Emergency."

Sheng Tian looked into her eyes intently and thought 'Heart's Dream-beautiful name, just like you. After I grow strong enough, I will help you fulfil your one dream as repayment for your help today. A glass of water shall be returned with an ocean.'

Then, she gracefully turned around and her image turned blurred as she disappeared into the distance.

Seeing her frail shoulders, Sheng Tian felt a bit of pity for her. She seemed so tender yet is pursuing something very difficult. Suddenly, he felt a little ashamed for accepting something she worked so hard without even thanking her.

Meng Xin felt the burden in her heart lighten a little as she left. The Nascent Core pill was something she had work very hard to get. What he expected to be Young missy showing off turned out to be meeting someone willing to help him just because of a 'promise' and 'gratitude' he had nothing to do with.

Despite all these, she managed to plant a seed of curiosity in his mind.
