However, as her eyes fell on the final name of the suspect, she can't believe her eyes .

"Nyelle? It can't be! Vince . . . "

Yve cried as she held Vince's hands .

"Do it again! Something might have went wrong with the investigation . "

Vince knew she would act like this but she needs to know that it's the truth . Vince played the video footage . As Yve watches the video of her best friend's betrayal, tears continue to fall down from her eyes .

The laptop's screen turned black which indicated that the video is already over but still Vince didn't hear anything from Yve except her almost silent sobs . Vince couldn't take the pain anymore and decided to stand up and hugged Yve .

Because of his gesture, Yve's cries became louder as she said,

"But . . . she's . . . . my . . . best friend . . . . How can . . . she . . . . do this . . to . . . me?"

"I don't really know the full details . What I know are the things that you read on the papers and saw on the video . " Vince said as hushed his Queen in his embrace .

"Can I talk to her?" Yve asked .

Vince touched her chin to see her face and asked, "Will you be fine if you see her?"

Yve's eyes look down and answered, "I'm not sure but at least I will have the chance to ask these things to her in person . Maybe she has a valid reason for doing this . "

Vince sighed but based on how Yve looks right now, he wasn't sure if he can see his Queen in a miserable state .

"Then look into my eyes and say that you can handle everything that Nyelle might say . "

Yve was confused for a moment and stared at Vince's eyes . Right then, he knew he will not be able to hide anything from Yve . Thus, on his knees in front of her, making Yve look down at him . She silently look at him while waiting for his explanation .

"I think that there might be someone else behind Nyelle . Like you, there might a valid reason behind her betrayal so I sent some of my people to investigate . "

"You sent some spies? Since when?"

"After I read this report . I hate to believe all of these so I wanted to continue investigating . "

"So?"

"I was right . She will meet the mastermind tomorrow afternoon . "

"Vince, I want to meet Nyelle before that happens . "

Vince caressed Yve's cheek and wiped the wetness caused by her tears and said,

"I knew you would say that . I arranged for it tomorrow morning . "

"Thank you, Vince . "

Yve hugged him tightly and from her touch, Vince realized that Yve was trembling .

'Why does she need to experience betrayal all over again?' Vince thought to himself as he embraced his Queen .

"Don't worry too much . I'll accompany you if you want . "

"Hmmm . . . " Yve answered and nodded while in Vince's warm shoulders .

After a few minutes staying that way, Yve said,

"If you have work to do, just continue . I'm going to sleep already . "

With that Yve walked away from Vince and went to her room . This act of hers got him more worried . Thus he fixed some of his papers and hurriedly followed Yve towards her room . When he knocked on the door and heard nothing, he got more worried and immediately went to his room to get the master key .

The next scene he saw broke his heart to pieces .

Yve was crying her heart out beneath her bed . She's hugging herself with her knees folded closed to her chest . Vince put the papers on her bed and run towards his Queen . He hugged her once more but Yve didn't move one bit .

In her mind, all of her previous memories with Nyelle continued to flash like in a video presentation . They both seemed so happy and she can't clearly believe the things she read and saw .

'I'm really stupid, aren't I?' She thought .

She continued to cry mumbled words which became clear to Vince a few seconds later .

"Why do . . . they . . . always betray . . . . me?"

"Are power and wealth . . . more important?"

"I . . . never wanted to be . . . rich . . . "

These continued to break Vince's heart as he can't do anything but caressed his Queen .

"Shhh . . . Those people are fools . No one's going to betray you anymore . I won't let that happen . I promise . "

Vince promised to Yve and to himself .

Finally, Vince's voice seemed to get through Yve who was lost in her thoughts for quite some time . Her voice broke when she said,

"Vince?"

Vince looked at her while one of his hands wipe the tears from her face .

"Hmm?"

"Don't leave me alone . " Yve said as she fidgeted as her eyes avoided eye contact .

Vince made her look at his eyes and answered,

"Of course, I will never ever leave you . "

With this, Yve hugged him .

"Can I request something selfish?" This question shocked Vince but nevertheless, he was willing to give everything to Yve . All she needs to do is ask and even the entire world will be hers .

"Say it . "

"Can you stay with me tonight? I won't disturb you with work . "

Her tone is still down which made Vince curious is she was fine . But without answering her question, Vince carried her towards the bed . Yve saw the papers on the edge of the bed and crawled to hand them to Vince . Instantly Vince caressed her hair and said,

"I'll be here . So go ahead and get some sleep . "

Yve nodded and lied down with her back facing Vince . Vince looked at the fragile woman beside him and continued to read his reports .

Yve tried to sleep knowing that Vince is just on her back but still she can't . She's afraid that her fun memories with Nyelle will be on her dream and will haunt her tonight . Without saying a word, she turned around and put her arm around Vince's waist . This movement of hers caused Vince's body to stiff for a moment before asking,

"Can't sleep . "

"Hmm . " Yve said and nodded her head once .

"Want me to turn off the lamp so that you can sleep?"

Yve shook her head to disagree . Vince understood this but decided to stop his work . He lied on the bed and hugged Yve, placing one of his hands around her waist while her head is on top of his chest .

"Is your work already finished?"

"For tonight, yes . Those papers aren't urgent anyways . " Vince lied as those papers are need for tomorrow afternoon's afternoon . But who cares! Yve is and will always be his first priority .

He noticed that Yve's hand is still making different patterns on his chest .

'Afraid to sleep . . . ' He thought .

From her waist, his hand moved to her hair and twirled some strands in his hands . He remembered that every time he would do this, Yve will always fall asleep no matter the effort she would put against it . He was hoping that this would still be effective . After awhile, noticing no movement from Yve's hand and her steady breathing, Vince knew that she has finally fallen asleep .
