There was a moment of silence as the people tried to comprehend what Yve just said. Yve began to worry a bit and glanced at Sylvan. He understood what Yve meant and what the directors were experiencing so he coughed falsely which the PR assistant director immediately responded.
"I understood, Ms. Yve. Thank you for the chance."
"No need to thank me. I truly appreciate your insights in this topic. I hope you will continue to speak up. Yes, I am the president but I can't make this company alone. We are all in this together." Yve expressed.
"Sylvan, make sure to note this meeting for tomorrow night." Yve instructed Sylvan as he types the minutes of the meeting as well as the appointment tomorrow.
"Is there anything else?" Yve asked.
Hearing the silence in the meeting room, she realized that there's none at the moment. With that, she concluded the meeting. She stood up and went out of the meeting room and was followed by Sylvan.
As they were walking towards her office, Sylvan informed her of the next schedule.
"Miss Yve, we don't have enough time to rest inside the office. The meeting with the directors took longer than expected so we need to go now if we don't want to be late for the meeting." Sylvan informed her.
"Got it. Just let me get my things then let's head out." Yve responded.
Sylvan didn't follow Yve inside her office. Instead, he went to his own to gather the things he will need. In a few minutes, they both found themselves in the car on their way to the Stone's. Ever since Yve's busy schedule, Sylvan has been driving her. Yve uses the time to read and study different files.
Finally, they have arrived in time for the meeting. Sylvan opened the car door for Yve and handed the car for the valet parking service. As they head inside, they were informed that the people are already inside the room. Yve simply told them that she has arrived to which the people inside began to settle down.
Inside the room, Yve was able to point out the details in the proposals which she wanted to revise and the reason for it. She even prepared some supporting documents and studies for the revisions. Sylvan handed out copies to the staff. Yve's response to their report yesterday was really amazing.
After last night's meeting, they researched about Yve's current activities. They found out that she's the current president of SkyMu but since she has just begun studying entrepreneurship, they didn't have high hopes on her response. They were quite astonished.
"Do you have any questions about the revisions?" Yve concluded her proposal.
One of them finally spoke and said, "The revisions are actually very good and easy to follow. However, to achieve the perfection written here, it would take a longer time. We might not be able to make it for the intended season."
Yve looked around and saw the division between them as some agreed while others don't.
"Hmm…. you mentioned 'might' so there's an equal possibility of both sides. Can you tell me why it might take a longer time?" Yve cautiously asked him with a little of authority to make sure they will not look down on her.
Sylvan noticed the difference between Yve's attitudes towards the two companies.
'Is this an example of "An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth"?' Sylvan thought as he looks at the strict and authoritative aura she is emitting.
However, Sylvan and Yve didn't expect how the staff responded to Yve's question.
"The way we do things aren't the same as the entertainment industry. New trends aren't easily created and being new doesn't mean it's good. But since you're new, I'm sure you haven't heard about this."
People looked at Yve for any reaction but Yve was quite good at hiding it. Instead, she threw back a different and difficult question.
"So if I'm a customer, why should I shop in your mall when you're like the rest?"
Yve made a very strong point which resulted to a silence in the room. Yve saw this and decided to make a follow up statement.
"I'm not asking for an immediate implementation of all of these. We can change one certain area of the mall and make it the highlight for the upcoming season. Then have the other changes in time for the next season. With this the customers would be looking forward to new things in our mall."
Her sentences convinced most of the staff as they nod their heads in agreement.
"So today, I want to ask which proposal do you think would have the best result in the short time remaining?"
Sylvan was once again in awe with her. She didn't directly address their concern for her lack of knowledge and skills nor denied it. With her words, she indirectly admitted that she's new to this but she's willing to learn and do her best. Most of all, she was able to assure them that their ideas and opinions would matter in all the upcoming projects.
'What other things will he witness by staying at her side?' Sylvan wonders.
"So let's vote for the proposal which will go through so that we can focus and implement it the soonest? We don't have much time." Yve casually said and smiled erasing the tension which formed earlier.
The meeting concluded as soon as the results for the votation came out. The staff was then told to implement the changes and thus a progress report is expected starting tomorrow while meeting and inspection are to be conducted on Saturdays when Yve doesn't have class.
Once the people left, Sylvan approached Yve and said,
"We still have time before your classes. What do you want to eat?"
To be honest Yve is very tired to eat lunch at the moment. She just wants to take a nap for a while and so she replied,
"I'll leave meal for you to choose. You can order a drive through or take out on our way to school. I just want to sleep on the way."
"Yes, Miss Yve."
Both of them walk out as Sylan takes the driver seat and heads to the school.
