The one I've loved Chapter 20

After giving my speech I walked towards Austin .

Thankyou so much , I said with a bright smile on my face .

You don't have to thank me , it was you who gave speech confidently ,I just tried to motivate you , he said placing both of his hands in his pockets .

Then thankyou for motivating me . I said and giggled .

The pleasure was all mine , he replied winking his right eye and moving his red lips slightly upwards .

By the way , when are you going to give the speech ? , I asked .

I'm not , he replied .

What do you mean by you are not ?, aren't you participating ?, I asked him .

No , I'm not participating in this competition but I will be participating in Q . A . E . S, I was bored sitting in the class so I came here , he said .

Wow , that's amazing , I said widening my eyes as I was amazed .

It was rare for our school management to select a student directly for Q . A . E . S . But the guy standing in front of me was not a normal guy . The entire school knew him not only for his good looks but also for his exceptional capabilities and outstanding personality . So it was obvious that our school management would select him even though he didn't participate in elocution .

He chuckled looking at the way I replied to him .

We looked at the crowd who were busy preparing their speech .

I felt as if only he and I were standing and talking there , when I looked around I saw people talking loud . All this while ,it was only his voice that echoed in my ears .

We both were silent for few seconds , I didn't want him to say a bye and leave , I wanted to talk to him more , I don't know when I would get a chance to talk to him again ,I thought .

I'm going to the canteen to have juice , do you want to come with me ? , he asked me .

Yes , I replied as soon as he asked me without a second thought .

What kind of question was that , why wouldn't I want to come , I obviously want to come , I can come anywhere if it is you, you just have to ask me . I told this in my mind while looking at his back and following him towards the canteen .

We ordered two glasses of citrus limetta ,my favourite juice .

There were only few people in the canteen when we went as it was not lunch hour , we paid and took our glasses and then headed towards an empty table which was near window .

All this while we spoke about our teachers and our classmates .

I wanted to ask him about Veronica as I was curious , I wanted to make sure if he had a crush on her or no .

I looked at him while he was busy looking at our school ground through the window .

I took a sip from my glass and asked him if he likes any girl from his class .

He tilted his head and replied with a no after pausing for a second .

Yyyaaaayy, that means he doesn't have a crush on Veronica , I thought .

My little heart somersaulted to his reply .

He looked at his watch and told me that he had to go and meet his class teacher to which I gave a nod and told him to go .

He drank his juice in a gulp and placed his glass on the table and thanked me for giving him company .

I shook my head and said that I had a great time .

He gave a smile and walked hurriedly towards second door and left .

Our canteen have two doors , we came inside through the first door while Austin left through the second door .

When I asked him if he liked any girl from his class, I wanted him to ask me the same question so that I could tell him ,you are my crush , but he walked away without asking me anything , I wonder what would've happen if I told him that I like him on that day . Things would've been different I guess .
