This is one is pretty short, Dominic's POV.
THE HIGH SPIRIT'S POWER「Why is it here… it's rank is certainly above the lesser spirit's⸺the difficulty of this quest isn't D-Class, it should be B-Class or higher!」
Dominic was lost in his words as he witnessed the higher spirit transform from it's egg-shaped figure to a humanoid form right in front of him. There are spirits who changes their forms after their sleep so perhaps, this higher spirit was a dormat spirit. In a dormant state, the spirit's magic powers were suppressed that must be why the guild's scout observed it, they judged it's rank just above a lesser spirit.
However⸺
(Things aren't look good for us.)
We need a magician with Rank B or higher magic power to fight the higher spirit. But if they want to subjugate it, it wouldn't be possible with just a Rank A magician, they need a stronger magician that can rival it's magic powers.
(Rank C's and below were taught before not to fight, but to runaway from them.)
These higher spirits originally appears on those sacred mountains or springs where magic powers are abundant. Decades of being a Spirit Magician, Dominic haven't seen a higher spirit personally before⸺
(What I'm seeing in front of me isn't a hallucination…)
「I-It just turned around!!」
It's face and eyes turned in Dominic's direction. He was sure it's aware of their presence now and it's inching towards them. He couldn't feel any hostility but the spirit is now surrounded by thick magic power and wind.
(Is it… gearing for a fight?!)
Dominic know it's dangerous to turn his back now. If that's the case, then the next thing to do is to prepare for whenever it starts to fight and to prepare for the worst⸺he have to make an opening and get these two excellent newcomers escape from here.
That's a natural decision as an adventurer of the Global Guild but of course, he's not going to risk his life so easily. First of all, he'll strengthen his defences with Spirit Magic. Just when he was thinking about it, he gathered magic power in his hands and called his contracted spirit when all of a sudden, the higher spirit's hand moved briskly⸺
The barrier was hit by a green wall of wind released from the higher spirit's hand.
「Wha⸺?!」
Dominic felt as if he body collided with a stone wall as his body flew in the impact. His body continued to crash on the tree behind him.
「T-This is… a wind magic!」
It was done instantly, a simple movement of it's hand landed a blow that threw him a few meters away⸺
(So this is the power of a higher spirit.)
Fortunately, only Dominic was blown away, Eisen and Rinne were safe. Since he can stand on his feet, Dominic thought that he can just get the higher spirit's attention and have the two escape from here⸺just when he was thinking of this, before he could tell them to run away⸺
The higher spirit's hands moved once more and a thick wall was erected in front the higher spirit and it's coming towards them again.
(This is… not good…)
He's done for good if he can't avoid this. What's worse is at the angle the tornado is going, it's going to eat even the two newcomers. If that happens, their lives will be in grave danger. However⸺
(I can't move my body!)
Dominic's body is paralyzed from the previous blow. He can't avoid this one.
But then his intuition instantly made him turn his head and saw it⸺
『Lend me your words【Tearing Staff】』
Eisen was seen tearing the wall of wind with his shining staff.
