The Strongest Beast Tamer 37 End of the Operation

The beasts stayed far away from them, fighting for their own territory. Once they were done however, Adam(J) sent the military to clean up, since they were going to secure the entire area they shouldn't hold back. They don't want any beast to get strong on them. They also need to secure a route from the school to the residential area. Eliminate all beasts along the way, and if they're incredibly weak they just frighten them away.

Lachlan, Adam, and Jack ran towards the building after they finished up there, quickly going through the building and up the stairs where Chloe and Sarah waited for them. They hugged for a bit, Chloe slightly teary, not from sadness but from happiness.

Lachlan picked Sarah up and threw her in the air, he caught her on the way down. Sarah loved it, she loved seeing her brothers fight, they were so cool in her eyes. Even though she was slightly worried about them getting injured but when she saw them fight she got pumped up and cheered them on.

"What did you think about it, Sarah?" Lachlan asked in an almost sarcastic tone as he caught her. He knew Sarah thought they were cool, he thought their group looked cool.

"You were all so cool, especially you Lachlan," Sarah said with her adorable voice.

"Of course I was, I am the strongest after all," Lachlan bragged confidently. Adam and Jack got slightly annoyed by Lachlan's bragging but they knew he wasn't wrong. He did manage to take on a Lion by himself, that was pretty impressive they couldn't deny that.

"None of you got injured did you?" Chloe asked as she checked their body. Examing their arms and legs for any bite or scratch marks. Who knows what could happen should they have got bitten, this isn't the old world anymore, anything might be lethal.

Adam(J), Alfredo, and Dylan finally walked up the stairs. They didn't run because they were fairly exhausted. Dylan was beginning to get a headache from looking through a scope for so long.

"After this, I need to send a report to my superiors, which will include your battle. I'm hoping all of you can join the army, not as soldiers, but as allies of equal strength," Adam(J) explained. He wanted to get them to join, especially Lachlan. His showcase of strength really surprised him, they could do good with that amount of strength.

"Sure, as long as I can keep the current freedom I have," Lachlan stated. He liked being free, not being bound by anything was fun. It also meant he didn't have to constantly report to the superiors, that was something he couldn't do.

"Yeah we'll help out, but we do want to spend some time with just our family every now and then," Jack said. Although he was beginning to enjoy fighting as well, he still enjoyed the peace he got with his family.

Adam and Dylan nodded with that. Alfredo already had a deal with Adam(J) so there was no need for him to say anything.

"Haha, you will don't worry about that. However, Alfredo, there is something want to talk to you about," Adam(J) mysteriously said.

"Is it about the rescue operation?" Alfredo asked. This was what he was waiting for, he couldn't just sit and wait while his wife struggles to live in hiding.

"Yes, since we successfully cleared the area that mission will begin. We would like you to join in on the planning as you will be a key part of it," Adam(J) explained.

Although the family wasn't told directly they were able to pick up on the clues. Since the Victor Harbour mission didn't succeed there are still people there, most likely including Alfredo's wife. Chloe was feeling a bit down after being reminded of that but also felt happy for Alfredo. She hoped he would succeed.

"Now, Lachlan there's is something I want to offer you. A special position that's only going to be handed out to certain individuals, the position of explorer," Adam(J) turned to Lachlan and said with stars in his eyes.

"Explorer?" Lachlan was confused as he never heard of a title. But considering how everything is it was easy to guess what it would be about.

"Yes, explorers will be individuals that wield great strength and bravery. They'll traverse the new landscapes, finding any rare materials in these new areas and giving them to the military for study. Don't worry, this won't be for free and you'll be heavily compensated," Adam(J) explained.

The family was surprised at the offer. Chloe however, she began to worry. Just the area that's already been explored that's evolved has become incredibly dangerous, she doesn't want to know about new areas that appeared after the evolution.

"Any restrictions or anything?" Lachlan still wasn't certain about the deal. It sounded a bit too good to be true. Although some new areas would definitely be dangerous, there were others that would be completely harmless that might be bountiful in resources.

"Not really, just everything you find will be given to the military and you can't tell any other government about your findings. Especially and forces near us," Adam(J) made sure to explain the few details clearly so Lachlan knows what he's getting in.

To be honest he also really wants to join, but due to his position and responsibilities, he can't. Unless he can training someone to take over his position he'll have to stay.

"There's even a mission already waiting for explorers to take, I don't exactly know the details but you'll set off from Sydney along with a few others that have been deemed worthy of becoming explorers," Georgia explained from the side.

"Indeed, the mission will begin in a week so you'll have plenty of time to spend with your family. You can also still reject the offer, we won't blame you for that, it's only natural that you care about yours and your families lives," Adam(J) attempted to guilt trip him into it. If Lachlan rejected it, it would make him seem selfish while if he accepted it he would be seen as someone strong and brave.

"I'll accept it, but during this time I'm going to be spending it entirely with my family. Aside from emergencies, I won't take part in anything else, that alright?" Lachlan accepted it. Of course, since he accepted it that meant he would have to leave for a bit. He wanted to make sure he spends a good amount of time with his family before leaving.

"That's completely fine. Do whatever you want, explore the place and relax, not that there's much to explore," Adam(J) said. Lachlan knew what he meant and did feel a bit disappointed. If this was before the evolution they could have easily gone to a few beaches and enjoy their time there.

Lachlan spent a good 5 days with his family. They did a few things, but the main thing they did was play games. Lachlan began to realise he really took his family for granted, always thinking that they'll be there forever.

But now that he'll be going somewhere else for a while he realised how much he was going to miss them. Even Chloe's constant nagging was something he would miss, it would just feel off. He hoped once he makes it to Syndey the other explorers would be nice.

He hoped to make friends with them. Or at the least not become their most hated enemies. Who knows, maybe he'll meet some rather extreme people. Although he found it fun to boast, there will be some people that take it really seriously, he didn't want any of those types to be his companion.
