The Strongest Beast Tamer 20 Coober Pedy

"How long can they fly for?" Chloe asked, Sarah quietly sleeping in her arms.

"About 2 - 3 hours, for now, they haven't been alive for long and while they do have some crazy strength they can't control it well, not to mention they have no experience flying," Lachlan explained.

Everyone nodded before they separated into pairs and got onto a bird each, Alfredo and Dylan were at the furthermost left side of the group. Jack and Adam were at the furthermost right side of the group. Lachlan, Chloe and Sarah were in the middle of the group, slightly ahead of the group.

"Hey, you know the way back?" Dylan asked. He was curious as to how they were going to get back, they weren't sure where they were after all.

Adam quickly checked the phone but realised he had no signal. Slightly disappointed, "No connection".

There was a bit of silence before Chloe decided to give some useful directions, "Since we came from that direction," She pointed in the direction of where the car was and continued, "As long as we go

in a straight line, we should be able to get back on the main road and follow it from there".

"Come on! Let's go that direction," Lachlan commanded as he pointed in the same direction that Chloe said.

'Yes, father!' Lachlan suddenly heard a voice in his head, it was the same one that told him to summon the Rocs.

Looking towards the Rocs he realised something, 'Was that you three?' Lachlan asked telepathically. Although he didn't fully understand telepathy he just thought about sending a mental thought to the Rocs, hoping it would work.

'Of course,' The three Rocs said proudly.

Lachlan nodded in realisation and looked towards Jack and Adam, "Have you also been able to talk to your tames?" He was curious as to whether everyone could do it. However, considering Jack also heard Rocky telling him to summon it then it's likely everyone can.

"Of course we can, we've always been able to," Jack said, he thought the question was stupid. But after thinking about it his expression turned apologetic, "Yeah, we forgot to mention that we can talk to the beasts didn't we?"

"Yeah, it would be nice for you to tell us these things," Lachlan said grumpily, he had been shocked by the sudden voices. He then looked towards the direction Chloe pointed to and pat Calamity, 'Let's go'.

The Rocs began to move their wings rapidly. Since they were technically just born they didn't fully understand how to fly yet. They made sure to take it slowly so they don't lose control.

*Flap*Flap*Flap*

All three Rocs began their ascent, slowly lifting off the group and getting used to the feeling of flying. Loose twigs and branches were getting flung away from beneath them due to the gusts of air. It felt slightly weird, as the birds moved up and down as they tried to hover in one place.

*Screech*

All three Rocs screeched with joy and begun flying in that direction and a high speed, causing everyone's face to slightly distort from the air. When they got a sight of each other they laughed, but even that was slightly difficult due to the air pressure.

"You three! Do you know a way to prevent the wind from blasting us?" Lachlan questioned the Rocs, it was getting slightly difficult to breathe. At least in the car, they couldn't feel all this wind pressure.

The Rocs seemed to have quickly glanced at each other before screeching again, the wind slightly changed. It was as if a barrier formed around them, making the fast winds avoid them.

"Huh," Lachlan and everyone else was surprised by the sudden lack of pressure. It was as if all the air surrounding their body follows along with the Roc, creating a safe place for them to breathe.

"Good Job!" Lachlan shouted while petting the one he was riding. Everyone else followed his action, praising the Roc and giving it a pet.

*Screech*

This screech was slightly different, this one sounded like they were having fun and enjoyed the praises. The journey back was nice, looking down below them they could see the great Australian outback move past.

There were still corpses that were scattered across the ground, but it seems the number heavily decreased.

It took half an hour, but they were back to the main road. Adam quickly took out the phone to see where they were, he got their location and zoomed out to see where Coober Pedy was.

"We aren't too far from Coober Pedy, it's in that direction," Adam said while pointing down the road.

*Screech*

All the birds began to fly in that direction, and just like before Lachlan and the rest of the group didn't feel a thing.

Getting closer to the town they realised that it was still active, although it didn't seem like a lot of people, it was the most amount of people they had seen. It also seemed they had some tamed beast with them. About 5 of them, three of which they had already seen before.

"Hey everyone! Look up there are people on those birds, maybe they can give us some help," A bulky man said.

"Hopefully," a fairly skinny guy next to the man said.

"Wave! Try to get their attention".

Looking down at the group of people they realised they were all waving to them. Slowly going down the got closer and closer to the people. Taking a closer look Lachlan recognised some of the tamed beasts alongside them.

Looking at three of the five status screen confirmed Lachlan's theory, he had seen them before, one of which was killed by Alfredo. There was an obvious difference though and that was that this scorpion was much stronger.

However, that was mainly due to the fact that it's a combined stat of not only the beast but also the tamer.

Lachlan decided to analyse the rest of the group, it seemed there were 5 people but six beasts. Well, after the analysis he will determine who has tamed a beast and who hasn't. Using his eyes were the most reliable way to determine other's strength.

Hunter was a tanned male. He had blonde hair, blue eyes and a shredded body, he was about 6'2 and was wearing plain clothes. The plains clothes, of course, weren't so plain anymore but had bits of blood on them and some dirt smudged across it.

His hair was also rather messy, although clean it doesn't look like the guy ever combed it properly. The man's eyebrows were also rather thick, but they looked like he had taken care of them. While his beard was just stubs, which definitely suited him.

Mia was 5'6, she had really long blonde hair that reached her hip, green eyes, and she had a slim body and a bit of muscle. Just like Hunter, she was wearing plain clothes. However, unlike Hunter whose clothes were dirty, they seemed rather clean and even new.

Her hair had been straightened, it also seemed like she had dyed it not too long ago as there were slightly brown highlights. Her face didn't have a hint of makeup on there, which was understandable considering that she probably overthinks the process.

Probably imagining all the possible things that could go wrong when she's doing her makeup.

His hair had been combed to the side, with a bit of a buzzcut on the sides back. On his face was a scar across his eye, one that looked rather deep. It looked as though he had been struck by a knife. Along with that scar was a bushy beard, it was large but looked neatly trimmed.

It looked like he had a bowl cut, which made him stick out even more. He looked like the only person in that group that didn't fit in. However, it did seem as though he would have been the boss of these people. His face just looks like a stern boss, one that orders everyone around without hesitation or even thinking about the workers.

'Huh, so that's the person without a beast, well it's not like she can tame an aquatic creature in the middle of Australia anyway,' Lachlan thought. He also pitied her, as the location she was in was not ideal for her compatibility.

Ryley also had short black hair and hazel eyes. He had a rather smug face, it was definitely a punchable face in Lachlan's opinion. The boy was also wearing a long-sleeved green top and brown shorts.

'Hm, but I can only see one lizard, maybe the rest are unsummoned. Now onto checking the rest of the beast,' Lachlan thought.

This had to be the largest snake they had ever seen. It was 12 metres long, its body was almost entirely light brown, except the head which was completely black. Just from its looks, Lachlan could determine that this snake was a constrictor.

However, Lachlan was beginning to notice something common. That was the dormant elemental control. Although Lachlan wasn't sure how it worked, he knew once they reached a certain level of strength then it should unlock itself.

This lizard wasn't too large, only 1 metre long and maybe 40cm wide. It had light brown and yellow skin with bits of green and red. Its tail was curled up like it was ready to be launched at an enemy.
