"So, what else do you want?" Alfredo asked in a calm manner, he was rather curious as to why this family decided to wake him up so abruptly. And more importantly, how they've managed to survive the night.

"We would like to ask where you're going, and if you can bring us, if you look over there you'll notice our car," Chloe said pointing to the scorpion corse. Alfredo looked closer and realised there was indeed a car beneath it.

Alfredo frowned, "I was going to drive to Victor Harbour, my family lives there, I called them last night and they've said they're fine and want me to come home. I was going to drive back to Alice Springs and take a plane," Alfredo explained his plans, he thought they would work out. After all, in his mind, he hasn't thought about every beasts' evolution.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you, all animals have evolved one way or another and birds certainly weren't excluded. The most likely situation is that the massive bird we saw at Alice Springs has made it a new home," Chloe explained, she didn't want Alfredo to go back as he was the only one with a working car.

"Well, I'll be damned, suppose I could try driving, after all, I got my trusted friend to cover my back," Alfredo explained while he patted his dog's head in a rather playful manner.

"Where are you needing to go?" He asked and if it wasn't too much of a detour he could spare a few hours dropping them off at their destination.

"Going to Mount Barker, my Husband is currently there," Chloe explained, she knew that Victor Harbour was far from Mount Barker, but Alfredo could drive through mount Barker to get to Victor Harbour.

"Well, I do suppose I can help ya out, just on one condition," Alfredo said before pointing to Jack, "I'll need him to help fight against beasts".

"Okay, I'll do it," Jack stated, but he was confused as for how Alfredo knew he was the strongest in their group or the fact that he had a tamed beast.

"Bet ya wondering how I knew aren't ya, I guessed that your mother wasn't some idiot that let their son get an arm tattoo and determined it was your tamed beast," Alfredo cheerfully said as he walked over and slapped Jack's back.

"Oh,' Jack said in realisation. He looked towards his left arm and realised how noticeable it was. He decided he wouldn't hide it as it could gain the trust of others, it'll at least make other people not think of them as enemies.

After all, people were just expecting to have died. Only to stay alive and arrive in the hell hole called Earth. Some people are bound to have gone insane by now, either taking themselves out or killing others.

"Hahaha, good, chuck all the food in the back, get in and get comfortable," Alfredo enthusiastically said before de-summoning Franklin and opening the car door. However, before he could sit down the sound of dozens of footsteps seemed to get closer and closer, it wasn't loud but it was consistent and fast.

Before the rest of the family could really determine what's going on, Alfredo had already summoned Franklin back out and got into a fighting stance facing the direction of the footsteps. He was looking towards the outback, towards some tall dead shrubbery.

A rustling could be heard, a long tail extended out of the shrubbery. It looked similar to a tree, of course, the beast was certainly not a tree. The tail for closer and closer until the beast crawled out of the shrubbery.

What crawled out of the shrubbery was a scorpion, it looked small, that was until it extended its legs and seemed to grow another half a metre of height, its body was 1 metre long. It was mostly brown with a black outline of its shell, and its tail was 2 – 3 metres long, it was also mostly brown until the last metre where it was completely green.

It had some patterns along the tail as well, it looked as though it had leaves on its tail.

The scorpion paused as it stared towards its new opponents, its pincers opened and closed rapidly in a threatening manner as its gaze was locked onto Alfredo and his dog. The scorpions tail had extended high, ready to make a move whenever.

Alfredo and Franklin seemed ready to fight the scorpion, Jack was paying complete attention to the fight and whether he should help, from Alfredo's expression it seemed he didn't need any help with this fight.

Lachlan had already analysed the scorpion and was assured that Alfredo and Franklin will be fine.

Although it was very strong, it seemed Alfredo and Franklin have adapted to fighting together during the time since the evolution. Anyway, it made Lachlan feel safe, having someone strong other than his brother to protect them.

The family made sure to hide behind Alfredo and Franklin. Jack had already summoned Rocky and got him to stay by their side. Of course, they don't want to die stupid so they made sure to constantly check behind them.

Alfredo and Franklin locked eyes and gave each other a nod before staring back at the scorpion. The scorpion had stopped moving and was staring at its opponents, slowly moving closer, step by step to get its opponents in the tail's striking range.

Alfredo and Franklin both bent their legs, preparing to pounce their enemy at the right opportunity.

The scorpion finally got in close enough and struck. The scorpion's tail shot at Franklin first, who quickly sidestepped it before biting down. It mouth clenched hard and the scorpion's tail could be seen bleeding.

Alfredo jumped into the air before spinning his body and kicking the scorpion's tail, snapping off its stinger. It was best to get rid of the opponent's weapon first before continuing the fight. They quickly backed off a few metres before looking back towards the scorpion.

The scorpion was enraged and launched at them with its pincers wide open, each pincer targeting one or the other.

Getting close enough the scorpion got its pincers around them, however, before it could finish the attack and slice its opponents in half Alfredo had already ducked beneath it and pounced towards the scorpion's head.

Franklin, however, had already jumped outside of the pincers attack before it lunged towards the scorpion's arm and crushing it with a mighty bite. It didn't hesitate to flail its head, causing more carnage and pain for the scorpion.

Alfredo was already at the scorpion head when he jumped up and axe kicked its neck, leaving a massive indent in the scorpion's carapace. The scorpion was momentarily shocked and couldn't move due to Alfredo hitting a vital nerve.

Alfredo saw this as an opportunity to strike again and got his hands together to form and large fist. He held them up high before slamming down. He continued to do this before he heard a snapping sound and the scorpion went stiff.

Lachlan and his family were in awe, especially Jack. He couldn't help but run towards Alfredo before firing off questions, most of which, were ones everyone had in their mind.

"How did you do that? How are you so strong? Are you some master martial artist? Can you teach me?" Jack asked. He mainly wanted to know about the martial arts parts, he wanted to learn how to fight since sooner or later he'll have to do the same.

"Hahaha," Alfredo couldn't help but laugh when he saw Jack enthusiastic face. He stared Jack in the eyes before answering every question in succession, "I trained, I trained hard in a bit of everything but mainly boxing. No, I'm not any fancy martial arts instructor but yes I can teach you how to fight, I can teach everyone".

"Wowowo, no you can't teach them, they're still kids, they shouldn't have to train," Chloe immediately begun protesting, her mind was the same as the one she had before the evolution, even after everything she's experienced so far.

Alfredo frowned at how irresponsible Chloe was being, "So you want them to die? Huh, is that what you want?"

Chloe was quickly flustered and didn't know how to respond, however, before she could respond Alfredo continued, "Look around, do you think those beasts are going to wait for your children to grow up, No! If you don't adapt fast enough and learn how to fight you are just dinner waiting to be eaten".

Chloe was completely shut up, although Jack, Adam, and Lachlan didn't like seeing their mum be scolded, they also knew they needed to learn how to fight. Especially if they wanted to make it to Darius without losing anyone, they needed strength.

Lachlan and Adam walked next to Jack in front of Alfredo, they all looked at each other before nodding. They stared at Alfredo and shouted in unison, "Teach us how to fight!"

Alfredo couldn't help but laugh again before speaking in a serious tone, "Haha, good, good. I'll teach you all, but do remember, this isn't any fancy martial arts, just something I've learned through the constant boxing fights I've had in small arenas. I wasn't that good either".

"Now get in the car, we're going on a road trip, that commotion will probably attract some rather nasty critters, we don't want to be here when they arrive. I'll teach you when we find our next resting spot," Alfredo said before walking over to the car and sitting in the driver's seat, he put the keys in the ignition and started the engine.

The rest of the family followed after they finished packing everything and shut the back. Chloe was at the front passenger seat with the boys at the back, Lachlan was in the middle holding onto Sarah while Jack and Adam were by his side.

Just like before, everyone had their eyes surveying the surroundings in case of an attack. But fortunately, the beasts' activity seemed to have slightly died down.
