The Story of Dusk 213 SHE WILL DIE

Jinse let out a piercing scream as the carriage flipped and they fell to the ground.

Out of instinct, Ye Xiu grabbed his sword and jumped into the carriage, he yanked Jinse's hand and threw her out of the carriage while he was trying to reach Qianru and carried her out of the broken carriage.

The horses and the carriage flipped a few times before it stopped and the horses dragged the smashed carriage away.

Now, Ye Xiu didn't have any idea how they could survive from this situation. Jinse wouldn't be able to walk faraway while carrying the unconscious Qianru and he wouldn't be able to defeat a squadron of trained soldiers by his own while protecting the two women.

In matter of second all of the soldiers have surrounded Ye Xiu and Qianru while Jinse a few meter away from them.

A soldier held her body down and put a sharp blade near her neck as the young maidservant was wailing in fear.

In the other hand, Ye Xiu was holding Qianru, who was still unconscious, closed to him as his eyes scanned his surroundings.

There was no way to escape from here.

What he should do now?

In this rate, even if he tried to battle all of the soldiers, he would end up as the defeated party while Qianru and Jinse would be hurt in the process. The young maidservant probably would be dead as she held no value for them.

Ye Xiu grabbed his sword tightly with his other hand.

"You have no chance to fight all of us!" The leader of the soldier shouted at Ye Xiu as he unsheathed his sword and pointed it toward him, the rest of the soldiers followed his action.

Now, there were around three hundred people that circled Ye Xiu and Qianru while Jinse had been held by them.

"Give the Princess of Azura and I will make a quick death for you!" The leader said again with louder voice this time. His face was stern as he stared at Ye Xiu with malice.

Ye Xiu gritted his teeth. "What you will do to her if I handed her over!?" He had to know, whether they had received an order to kill her on the spot or they would bring her back to the Rockstone palace, Ye Xiu hoped it would be the last option.

At least they wouldn't kill her now.

"That is not your business!" The leader of the soldier barked and gestured to his men to move forward.

When bunches of soldiers moved forward to kill Ye Xiu, he suddenly knelt on the ground and lowered his head. Surrender.

"I will let you to have her." He said while lowering his head. "But, you need to keep me alive." His voice echoed in the vast land to the soldiers around him.

"You are really an idiot if you think that I will let you alive." The leader of the soldiers mocked Ye Xiu, he stepped forward to face him as he stared down on him and the woman in Ye Xiu's arms. "We only need her, while you can go to hell!"

While saying that, the leader of the guard swung his blade with intention to cut off Ye Xiu's head.

But, Ye Xiu swiftly raised his own sword and ward off his attack. "She will die if you kill me!" He shouted at the arrogant soldier and swung his sword, forcing him to take a few step back because of the sudden force.

"She is sick and need immediate help!" Ye Xiu stood up straight with one hand hugged Qianru closer to him and the other hand gripped his sword tightly. "She will keep bleeding if I don't stop it!"

The leader of the soldier didn't even listen to Ye Xiu's explanation as he dashed forward and engaged Ye Xiu in battle.

"I will kill him by myself!" The leader of the soldiers announced it to his men, so no one interrupted the battle and stood in their position.

Surprisingly, the leader of the soldiers was very skillful with his swordsmanship. He managed to corner Ye Xiu after a few exchanged blows.

While the fight managed to force Ye Xiu to leave Qianru's side, some of the soldiers moved forward and secured her right away.

In fight, Ye Xiu could do nothing about it and let them took Qianru away as he put his focus on his opponent.

He intentionally didn't kill the leader of the soldier, because the moment he was death, the three hundred soldiers would be ready to attack him right away and he wouldn't be able to fight all of them.

In the other hand, Jinse, who was being held down by one of the soldiers kept wailing, struggling to get off from her captured.

"She is bleeding!" Suddenly one of the soldiers shouted out loud to inform his leader. "Something is not right with her!"

Both, Ye Xiu and the leader backed away at the same time and put their focus on the soldier who was shouting before.

The soldier was carrying Qianru's limply body and looked down in fear at the pooled of blood on the ground that trickled from the corner of Qianru's dress.

"Put her down!" Ye Xiu yelled while pointing his blade at the soldier. His voice was so loud like a thunder as he glared at his opponent. "I have told you that she is sick! If you kill me, you will kill her as well!"

The leader of the guard looked at Ye Xiu disdainfully. "Who are you!? A Doctor?" Then he looked at his subordinate. "You idiot! Bring her to the camp and find a doctor right away!"

He clearly didn't believe that it was only Ye Xiu, who could help the princess from Azura's critical condition as they have a doctor with them too.

"Right away!" The soldier turned on his heel and was about to go to the direction of their camp when Ye Xiu's voice thundered and stopped him on his track immediately.

"If you bring her away now, you will only present her corpse when you bring her back to Rockstone palace!"
