The Story of Dusk 209 ARE YOU HER HUSBAND?

The smell of blood started to fill the room as the tense in the atmosphere thickened.

Jinse rubbed her hands against Qianru's to keep her warm, but it was no avail as Qianru's facial expression grew paler time after time.

"Where is the doctor!?" Ye Xiu roared to the closed door as he became more panic, he was having hard time to keep calm now.

One second in this kind of situation almost the same like a day for Ye Xiu and Jinse. They could lose her anytime and they didn't even know what they could do to help.

The moment the door was opened and revealed Qi Xunyi with a middle age woman in her soft blue robes behind him, Ye Xiu could slightly sigh in relief.

Qi Xunyi carried her medicine box and put it on the table near the bed.

The woman doctor's face drop when she watched Qianru dreadful condition as she hastily sat down on the edge of the bed, where Ye Xiu had sat down before.

She checked on Qianru's pulse for a bit longer, but her face didn't turn better, if anything it became darkened.

"Are you this lady Mistress?" The woman doctor asked Jinse, but her eyes still on Qianru's face while putting out all of her acupuncture needles.

"Yes, yes." Jinse nodded her head vigorously, she kept rubbing her hands against Qianru's cold one and waited anxiously for the doctor's order.

"You can stay here while the rest of you…" The doctor looked at Qi Xunyi and Ye Xiu. "Both of you can wait outside of the room." The Doctor's expression was very stern as she nodded toward he door, signaled them to leave.

Only if the Doctor knew who were those people inside the room, she would act more polite toward them.

Qi Xunyi a bit hesitated to leave Qianru with the doctor alone, but Ye Xiu had dragged him out by grabbing his shoulder.

Before the door closed, Qi Xunyi still could hear the Doctor asked Jinse to take off all Qianru's clothes while she sterilized her acupuncture needles and started to put it around Qianru's forehead and her lower body.

Qi Xunyi couldn't see what else the doctor was doing to Qianru, he didn't wish to see it either as the scene wouldn't be appropriate for him, but he was very worry about her.

With the reason that he didn't really know why he felt that way.

This was his second time to meet Qianru, the first time they met, they didn't talk much with each other and only exchanged a couple of greeting or made a small talk, but he felt less awkward around her.

If he could say it frankly, Qi Xunyi would say that he indeed felt comfortable toward her.

The feeling that he shouldn't develop.

Qi Xunyi and Ye Xiu were waiting outside of the door as no one of them talked with each other, their mind was filled with many unpleasant things that wouldn't be comfortable to be shared.

They could only focus their hearing on the muffled sound of the movement behind the door.

The silence night was becoming quieter as many people had returned to their room and the inn hall turned empty.

However, there was still no news from the doctor.

Second became minutes, and minutes became hours.

Qi Xunyi was so tempted to knock on the door and checked what was happening inside the room, but Ye Xiu always stopped him right in time.

"Say." Ye Xiu broke the silence after hours of waiting as he stared at the closed door in front of him.

"What?" Qi Xunyi asked without even lifted his head, he leaned his tall body against the wall beside the door.

"Do you think, Xiao Jun will kill us if something happen to his wife?" Ye Xiu blurted out.

He had thought about it.

His disciple was not someone with cold personality, not like his brother, Xiao Tianyao, but only God knew what would happen once he went out of control.

Qi Xunyi seriously gave some thought about Ye Xiu's casual remark. "You are his Master, he will not kill you at least."

"You just don't know him yet." Ye Xiu muttered.

It has been a long time since the last time he witnessed the angry Xiao Jun and as his memory flew back to the past, his mind subconsciously remembered the woman that he loved, someone who had gone missing for years and he didn't have any idea how to find her except the clue about 'Senja'.

It took another hour before the doctor came out with blood stained on her sleeves and her outer blue robe.

Qi Xunyi and Ye Xiu approached her hastily.

"We need dragon blood plants." That was the first sentence that the doctor said before neither Qi Xunyi nor Ye Xiu could ask any question.

"Dragon blood plants?" Qi Xunyi reiterated, he didn't familiar with something like herb plants as this was the first time he had heard about this. "Where we could find it?"

"Dragon blood plants are very rare, but it was the only thing that could this lady's life. She lost too much blood because of the miscarriage." The woman doctor wiped his forehead.

"So, the baby is really gone…" Qi Xunyi mumbled. He couldn't imagine how Qianru's reaction would be, once she got this news, it would be a hard blow for her.

"What do you expect? With her condition, she could have lost her life as well if you were late." The doctor sized up and down at Qi Xunyi as she asked him coldly. "Are you her husband?" She was squinted her eyes.

Qi Xunyi felt a bit awkward with that question as he raised his both of his hand in denial. "No, I am not. Her husband went for…" He gulped hard while thinking for a reason. "…Duty."

"Duty?" The Doctor raised her eyebrows in disbelief. "What kind of duty that more important than his sickly pregnant wife?!" There was anger that laced in her voice.
