Chapter 1425: Chapters 1372 – 1373 Life Simulation – The Fall of the Divine Lord The Initial Secrets_2 Chapter 1425: Chapters 1372 – 1373 Life Simulation – The Fall of the Divine Lord The Initial Secrets_2 However, as the oldest of the Innate Gods and the most powerful among them, the Divine Lord, even when ambushed, was by no means without the power to counterattack.
Enraged to the extreme, the Divine Lord, after regaining composure, struck down and completely annihilated several Ancient Gods who had ambushed him, despite his grievous wounds.
But the injuries of the Divine Lord were inevitable and grew increasingly severe, to the point where there was a risk of his demise. In such a situation, the Divine Lord chose to fuse with the half-formed Divine World, intending to continue his self-rescue and carry on with his plans.
What he had not anticipated was that those Ancient Gods he had slain were not entirely obliterated; their remnants had already merged into the nascent Divine World, even gaining partial control over it.
By choosing to integrate with the Divine World, the Divine Lord effectively caused a complete merger between the three parties, which unavoidably resulted in the influence of those deceased Ancient Gods on him, and a struggle of wills commenced within the body of the Divine Lord.
For many years, there had been a constant internal struggle among the three within the body of the Divine Lord, sometimes he prevailed, sometimes not, yet he was unable to completely suppress the other two. After all, when faced with the threat of extinction, the two would unite against the Divine Lord, preventing him from utterly crushing his opponents.
Thus, all three parties were entangled, and as a result, most of the time, the Divine Lord paid no mind to the affairs of the Divine Court, allowing the numerous Gods within to vie for power and advantage over one another.
Nevertheless, the combined strength the three-as-one unleashed was more formidable than any individual party alone, which deterred any God from coveting the position of the Divine Lord.
This time, the rise of the human race and the emergence of Pei Xuanjing shook the very foundation of the Divine Court–a threat to all three parties. After all, to them, regardless of which one relied on it, the Divine Court was their support base.
Although the Divine Lord's ambitions and goals diverged from the other two, his foundation was also the Divine Court, which he had established–thus, he could not allow it to be destroyed.
Hence, a temporary consensus was reached among the three, and that's why the Divine Lord descended to lead All Gods to annihilate the human race.
Regrettably, even though they reached a consensus and their combined might as a trinity far surpassed that of an individual, they still struggled to contend with Pei Xuanjing and were ultimately slain by him.
Pei Xuanjing could sense that in the final moments, the Divine Lord was filled with regret–for his unaccomplished grand ambitions, for the impending destruction of the Divine Court he founded, and for everything…
Yet, there was also some relief for the Divine Lord; after all, he had been entangled with these two parties for millions of years. During those years, he painfully watched his Divine Court, which he had created, degrade and usurp his own people, bringing him immense suffering.
Therefore, his demise, the fall of the Divine Court, and the rebirth of All Tribes were to the Divine Lord perhaps a form of liberation.
The reasons for this were unclear to All Gods, but they were sure of one thing–defeat meant defeat. The death of the Divine Lord meant that no one in the entire Divine Court could any longer challenge Emperor Xi of the human race. He had become the supreme being between heaven and earth, possessing the qualification to rule over all and guide the cosmos according to his will.
Possibly, some powerful Gods within the Divine Court were not yet resigned, unwilling to acknowledge the rule of Emperor Xi or the human race, and thus continued to resist.
But as their resistance was quashed again and again, and more Gods fell, all of them came to realize something.
That is, this newly ascended supreme being of heaven and earth, Emperor Xi of the human race, was decisively ruthless and did not show the slightest leniency to the Gods of the old Divine Court, opting instead to suppress them with severe measures.
The successive falls of the Gods and such atrocious methods without question instilled dread in All Gods, chilling their hearts and deterring any further defiance.
After all, Emperor Xi's performance far exceeded their expectations, showing no intention of recruiting them, displaying an attitude of sheer laissez-faire.
Though the Divine Lord had fallen, and the Divine Court existed in name only, the Gods remained. In their view, even though Emperor Xi could suppress anyone, the human race had not reached its zenith, and if it were for the development of the human race, recruiting these Gods would be the best choice.
After all, most of these Gods were not die-hard stubborn elements. As long as Emperor Xi spoke up, they had no qualms about shifting their allegiance to the Human Race under his command.
Yet, Emperor Xi didn't hold them in any esteem; he had never shown any intention of soliciting them, leaving them to their own devices. It seemed that as long as they didn't hinder the development of the human race, he simply wouldn't care about these Gods.
Once they realized this, most of the Gods stopped considering joining the human race. After all, they too had their dignity and pride.
Indeed, the Gods had shown signs of retreating when facing Emperor Xi and the Divine Lord's confrontation, but they were still beings standing at the pinnacle of heaven and earth. They could not stoop to actively throw themselves at others.
Regarding Pei Xuanjing's attitude, Sui had expressed his doubts, but Pei Xuanjing had provided a reasonable explanation: the rise of the human race needed only to rely on itself and did not require external help.
While inviting All Gods to join the human race would decidedly inflate its power, perhaps even allowing it to replace the Divine Court and dominate the entire cosmos,
such power would be illusory and incomplete. Relying on such a rise could actually plant the seeds of great disaster for the human race. At least for now, the human race lacked the strength to suppress All Gods.
As time went by, All Gods would simply latch on to the growth of the human race. The eventual outcome would be that the ruler grew weak while the vassals grew strong, and the human race would ultimately be unable to govern the Gods.
Therefore, the best approach was to ignore All Gods for now, at least not to recruit them, and to let the strength of the human race grow on its own. When the human race had gained enough power to truly govern the cosmos, whether they decided to assimilate All Gods or suppress them could be determined according to the will of the human race.
Personal strength was the most important. While it was sometimes possible to borrow external force, there were times when it absolutely should not be relied upon, or it would lead to self-destruction.
Thus, after hearing Pei Xuanjing's explanation, Sui also had a sudden realization and did not bring up the matter again.
In fact, it was only because Sui was qualified to express doubts to Pei Xuanjing that he did so. Given Pei Xuanjing's current status and momentum, not even the many Gods within the human race dared to question his actions.
Perhaps at the beginning, these Human Race Gods might have doubted Pei Xuanjing's status within the human race, along with some of his plans and actions.
But as Pei Xuanjing continued to drive the rise of the human race, defeating the Gods in succession, especially after he slew the Divine Lord, his prestige had reached its apex. No one further questioned any of Pei Xuanjing's actions.
With the fall of the Divine Lord, the Divine Court crumbled like a house of cards, and the Gods could no longer interfere with any aspect of the human race's development. From this point, Pei Xuanjing began to focus all of his energy on the development of the human race.
Pei Xuanjing tirelessly refined the Realm of cultivation and improved the cultivation techniques to foster the birth of more powerful individuals within the human race.
However, he realized that his human race was ultimately too vast in number or perhaps too recent in its rise. Even with the status once held by the God Clan, ensuring the succession of the Divine Bloodline was not something that could be achieved overnight.
The enhancement of any God Clan bloodline was not something that could be changed quickly. After the birth of a God within any tribe, the descendants of the Divine Bloodline would gradually spread, then enhance the tribe's inherent talents, and give rise to more Cultivators.
This process was measured in hundreds of years, at shortest a few hundred years, and at longest several thousand years, before the true evolution would be complete. Only when the original mortal bloodlines were purged, leaving behind true bearers of the Divine Bloodline, could they be rightly called the God Clan.
The rise of the human race was but a few hundred years old, and many of these Gods had only advanced in less than a hundred years. It was uncertain how much time it would take for their bloodlines to fully spread.
One must consider that the God Clans had spent hundreds to thousands of years doing this. For the human race, given its present numbers, it would not be surprising if the time required was multiplied manyfold.
