Chapter 1411: Chapters 1358-1359_2 Chapter 1411: Chapters 1358-1359_2 Following increased research and understanding of the human race, the King of Fire Country discovered that although no gods had ever been born among the humans, there were many demigods and powerful families. Their racial Qi Luck was vast and profound, nearly rivaling that of certain God Clans.
Thus, a plan revolving around the human race as a means to break through to the Gods' Realm began to unfold.
Adopting Sui as his son was not a chance event for the King of Fire Country; it was a deliberate choice, the result of meticulous selection. Sui was intended to be a pivotal role in advancing the King's plan.
Indeed, Sui fulfilled his purpose just as the King had hoped, and even exceeded his expectations, saving the King untold resources.
With everything ready but the east wind, all preparations were in place, save for the final ultimate leap.
Having made all preparations, the King of Fire Country climbed to the altar he had constructed, bringing Sui along. Without hesitation, he began to release his power. The aura around him surged, growing stronger, invoking changes in the heavenly bodies.
As the aura around him transformed, the Fire God within the Divine Court awoke from slumber, for he had caught the scent of food.
To the Fire God, these descendants served as his sustenance, his cultivated Spiritual Materials, waiting to be harvested once they matured to nourish his ascent.
Gazing through the boundless sky, the Fire God seemed to see the King of Fire Country upon the altar in Fire Country. To the Fire God, the demigod before him was the most delectable food between heaven and earth.
The struggles and efforts made by his food were all within the Fire God's view, yet he paid them no mind, completely unconcerned.
Indeed, there had been instances where his prey escaped his grasp, but those were mere accidents and exceptions. Most had failed, their efforts and struggles futile.
To the Fire God, the food's struggle and resistance were not a concern but rather a source of amusement, adding to his zeal for consumption.
In contrast, his true caution was reserved for the other Gods, the traitors who had escaped his clutches and managed to rise alongside him, now competing for his sustenance.
“Sui, begin!”
The King of Fire Country's gaze turned toward the vast heavens, aware that the Fire God's attention was upon him, and not just the Fire God but also the ancestors who had broken free from their cages, all coveting what he had.
Therefore, the King of Fire Country knew he could wait no longer–he needed to ignite the Qi Luck now, to break through the barrier, for there was no time left.
“Yes!” Sui responded.
This was his promise, to bestow a portion of the human race's Qi Luck upon his foster father, aiding him in crossing the final Heavenly Chasm and supplementing his foundation and accumulation.
Boom!
A ceaseless stream of human race Qi Luck, transformed by Sui, descended onto the King of Fire Country. As the king of his people, and though not of the human race himself, the King could now harness the human race's Qi Luck through Sui's purification.
As this Qi Luck settled upon him, the King of Fire Country's aura soared to new heights, and it continued to rise, as if trying to split the firmament itself.
However, with the steady transfer of Qi Luck, Sui's expression drastically changed, an incredulous look in his eyes as he turned toward his foster father.
“Father, you…” Sui exclaimed in shock.
He felt the loss of human race Qi Luck, not merely a temporary transfer to the King of Fire Country, but a complete and utter dissolution into nothingness.
This was unacceptable to Sui. He understood that transferring human race Qi Luck to the King of Fire Country already resulted in significant loss, but such loss could eventually be replenished with enough time and cost.
But the current vanishing signified a total disappearance of the Qi Luck he had offered, irretrievable as if it had never existed.
Racial Qi Luck, every iota of it, pertains to the race's existence, and its disappearance symbolizes the decline of the race.
Initially, when my foster father requested my help, he clearly stated that by using the racial Qi Luck to break through, there would be some consumption but it could be replenished. But now, it has completely vanished, which is something Sui cannot accept. This is fundamentally different from what both parties had agreed upon. If it were so, he would never have agreed.
However, this was exactly the calculation of the King of Fire Country from the start. He was using it all along, as only the complete sacrifice of this racial Qi Luck could attract the attention of the Fire God and other Gods; otherwise, it would be in vain.
After all, he was aware of the gap between himself and the Fire God. The latter had become a God who knows how many years ago, and has grown unfathomably powerful. Even if he were to break through by force, in the face of the Fire God or even several Gods, he would stand absolutely no chance.
And sacrificing Qi Luck, whether it was used for a trade or for him to directly consume and refine it for his ascension to a Divine Position, was the best choice.
Sui saw the look in the King's eyes, but the King of Fire Country did not hesitate at all. Perhaps he had some affection for Sui, but for such a cunning hawk as himself, his own interests were paramount.
“Sui, don't blame me! I had no choice!”
“But I cannot use the human race as a sacrifice, they are innocent.”
Sui decisively refused and was about to sever the transmission of Qi Luck. As long as it was cut off, it would also be a timely limitation of the loss.
But how could the King of Fire Country be willing to let him do so!
“Stop!”
At the sight of Sui's actions, the King of Fire Country became furiously enraged, his previously pleading expression vanished, replaced by a frigid and stern demeanor as he decisively took action!
Boom!
The King of Fire Country struck at his own foster son without the slightest hesitation or mercy, exhibiting the characteristic posture of a ruthless ruler.
Pfft…
Even though Sui tried his best to resist, his Realm was still far behind that of the King of Fire Country at this moment. After all, the King was now at the threshold of the Divine Position, with little difference from the Gods themselves.
The gap between their Realms and their accumulated power was great, and unable to be bridged. If it weren't for the fact that the King was worried that killing Sui would cause the racial Qi Luck to disappear, Sui might not have been able to survive under this one attack.
“Father…”
Sui's face was etched with pain, the physical suffering from his injuries nothing compared to the anguish in his heart.
Having been raised by his foster father since childhood, he had deep-seated feelings for him, and bestowed upon him an almost unimaginable reverence, which had led him to be willing to do all this, to aid in his cultivation.
But now, he faced betrayal by this foster father, a pain unimaginable, not understanding why, and wanting to know if ascending to godhood was so important that everything else could be abandoned for it.
“You're too naive!” the King of Fire Country scoffed coldly, not bothering to answer, his attention fully engaged in refining the Qi Luck.
He wouldn't tell Sui that all of this was a scheme he had orchestrated, that Sui had been nothing but a pawn in his plans from beginning to end, even his adoption had not been as Sui had believed.
None of it mattered, the King of Fire Country wasn't going to waste his time with explanations, for he had no interest in doing so. What he needed to do now was seize the Time to break through and face the upcoming crises.
“Is the Qi Luck of the human race so easy to take?”
Just when the King of Fire Country thought everything was settled and his plan was complete, a chilling voice rang out, resonating across the sky.
A figure appeared out of nowhere above the altar, and with an effortless wave of their hand, they not only released Sui from his bonds but also easily severed the transmission of the racial Qi Luck.
This made the King of Fire Country utterly furious!
