Chapter 1157: Chapters 1106-1107: The Unity of Three Yangs, Opportunity of the Light-Dark Law Chapter 1157: Chapters 1106-1107: The Unity of Three Yangs, Opportunity of the Light-Dark Law For the cultivators of the Sky Wasteland, the practice of Martial Arts in the Mortal Realm was just an insignificant transition. Thanks to the abundant spiritual energy that once filled the Sky Wasteland, this was a very short process. The real cultivation began in the Spirit Realm.
Therefore, aside from the disciples of the major forces, most cultivators didn't have excessive demands during their cultivation in the Mortal Realm; it was enough to solidify their foundation.
However, it was different for these strong practitioners of the Great Ming World. Initially, when the heaven and earth had not yet revived, these strong practitioners were trapped within the First Grade Realm of Martial Arts, unable to break through to the Spirit Realm. What they could do was to continuously temper their own foundation, delve into their own Martial Arts skills, and keep improving, all in hopes of finding an opportunity to break through to the Spirit Realm.
This resulted in a situation where these strong practitioners spent almost several times, dozens of times, or even tens of times longer in the Mortal Realm cultivation than the cultivators of the Sky Wasteland.
Even an ordinary First-grade Martial Artist from the Great Ming World would have a foundation in the Mortal Realm that was no less solid than the disciples of some major forces, like those at the very top of First-grade Martial Arts strength. They immersed themselves in this realm for decades or even centuries, and their accumulation within this realm was no less than that of the direct descendants of the top major forces.
Zhao Baiyang, as the former church master of a major branch of the White Lotus Sect, the Mire Sect, collected skill manuals from all branches of the White Lotus Sect during the process of unifying them all later on. He integrated these skills and carved his own path, laying a foundation for his later cultivation that was beyond imagination.
So with the foundation he had laid, Zhao Baiyang rapidly advanced in strength in a short time by leveraging the opportunities provided by the revival of heaven and earth and the Heaven and Earth Ascension, surpassing the accumulation of many Sky Wasteland cultivators over hundreds or even thousands of years.
But at that point, even though he exhausted his accumulated resources, and despite his extraordinary talent, he could not truly keep up with the rapid current of the times. For the sake of the Heterodox Alliance, he walked the same path Pei Xuanjing once did, consolidating a Divine Position to enhance his own strength.
And the Divine Position Zhao Baiyang could consolidate was none other than the Maitreya Divine Venerate.
In the doctrine of the White Lotus Sect, there exist two opposing forces in the world, known as the Bright and Dark Two Sects. Bright signifies light, representing goodness and truth. Dark signifies darkness, representing evil and unreasonableness.
These two aspects have been constantly struggling against each other in the past, present, and future. After the descent of Maitreya Buddha, light shall ultimately triumph over darkness. This is the so-called “three periods” of Green Sun, Red Sun, and Baiyang.
The Green Sun of the three periods corresponds to the initial period of Dipamkara Buddha, when light and dark first appeared.
The Red Sun corresponds to the middle period of Shakyamuni Buddha, when darkness gained the upper hand and light was suppressed.
Baiyang represents the latter period of the Maitreya Buddha's era, where light and dark each return to their original state.
Zhao Baiyang's name, Baiyang, is taken from this concept, signifying that under his guidance, the White Lotus Sect would reach its zenith, and everything would return to its original state of perfection.
Thus, the first Divine Position Zhao Baiyang consolidated was the exalted position of the Maitreya Divine Venerate, symbolizing the authority of the future. It was with the authority of this Divine Position that Zhao Baiyang further advanced in strength, enabling him to severely injure the Supreme Strong Demon King not long ago.
Of course, the Divine Position is not yet complete. According to Zhao Baiyang's calculations, to fully perfect all authority and reach the realm of the Mother of No Birth–the highest faith of the White Lotus Sect–he still needs to consolidate the exalted positions of Dipamkara Buddha and Shakyamuni Buddha.
Of course, while these three exalted positions share names with those of the Buddhism School, in reality, they are not the same. These three Divine Positions symbolize the past, present, and future. United as one, they form a complete cycle, akin to embarking on the Mother of No Birth's path of Opening the Heavens and Splitting the Earth.
“If I can consolidate these three Divine Positions and unite them all, then it will be the time I step into the realm of True Immortal,” Zhao Baiyang's eyes brimmed with ambition.
In the past, Zhao Baiyang had not delved too deeply into the Divine Tao, so he overlooked many things. But when he truly decided to pursue the Path of the Divine Tao, he naturally spent a great deal of effort studying the Primordial Spirit Path and the materials from his own White Lotus Sect.
To put it in somewhat embarrassing terms, although as the church master of the Mire Sect, a carrier of the White Lotus Sect's legacy, Zhao Baiyang–as well as many powerful individuals in the White Lotus Sect–harbored significant doubts about the existence of the venerated deity Mother of No Birth whom they worshipped.
Moreover, the stronger they were, the greater the doubts they held about the existence of such deities. They questioned everything and would not blindly believe in anything but what they truly believed in.
To them, the Mother of No Birth was nothing more than a flag, a slogan used to rally the lower-ranking followers and call believers to follow.
However, Zhao Baiyang's perspective had since changed. Or to say, whether this deity existed or not was not important. What was important was the deity's inherent vast following and the Force of Faith Incense.
With the previous example of the True Martial Sect creating an Innate God, the Devil-Sweeping Great Emperor, out of nothing, allowing the True Martial Sect to rise from there, Zhao Baiyang saw some possibilities without a doubt.
That was, he could also create something out of nothing, just like the True Martial Sect did, consolidating the three Divine Positions of Dipamkara, Shakyamuni, and Maitreya, and then uniting them into one to forge the deity that is the Mother of No Birth.
Of course, unlike how the True Martial Sect desired a complete Innate God, Zhao Baiyang was already the leader of the Heterodox Alliance. He had no thoughts of anointing another overlord above himself.
