She browsed for contact on her phone, and click on it. She heard a couple of rings before someone on the other side greets her.

"Kahina! I heard you were dead! Hahaha... It is impossible. You have thousands of lives." the person laughs lively at her.

"Tch! Are you bored of living?" Kahina chides annoyingly to the person. This person is Anna Jintao, Kahina underling but Anna never acted like one. They grew up together and went through the same training for martial art under the same master but Kahina learned to protect herself meanwhile Anna learned to kill. She was trained to be spy and assassins. Anna treats Kahina like a friend, not her Mistress and Kahina never been bothered by it. Treated her as they seem fit but when she wants the job to be done, then they must able to fulfil it.

"Hahaha, do you want me to kill anyone?" Anna asked her casually but she certain Kahina did not want it. She rarely does Kahina's bidding because Kahina doesn't like to kill people. She once said, 'Dead people cannot make her richer and stronger,' instead her methods are more ruthless in extorted anything from her target.

"No, somebody threatens to kill my love one and it includes you. Find that person." Anna froze. She was so shocked upon hearing to Kahina's words. 'What the hell? Kill me? Threaten Kahina? They must be stupid or crazy? That women black belly is the worst!' Anna turns serious. She vowed to protect Kahina and all Hinode Family. She will make sure she upholds her vow.

"Send me the details. I will look into it."

"Don't you know I am in the hospital? You told me you love me. Why didn't you visit me at all?" Kahina rebuked.

"Hahaha! I heard you've been sleeping all week. I don't want to see you lazybones on the bed while I need to work. It's annoying!" Anna mocked.

"Fuck bitch! I'm in a coma!" she yapped irritated with Anna's replied. It was more annoying when Anna just laughs at her yapping.

After a moment, Anna's laughter abates, "I will come today after I settle a few things." She promised her before hanging up the phone call.

Kahina put her phone back to the side table and she lay on the bed, stared at the ceiling. The room is really quiet. She once again looks at the picture.

Ken was protecting her nonetheless the circumstances. He never complained to her weirdness neither her crazy action. She looks at the corner of the room; she swears she can feel his presence. She remembered when Ken was assigned to her when she was fifteen. His disappointed looks were too obvious. She just brushed it off as she didn't realize it. Kahina knows he was aiming to be Kaede right hand instead he becomes hers. However, Ken still did his best to serve her and she was always bullying him. Kahina understands her status in Hinode Family as she never able to succeed it but she doesn't want to become the lotus flower and wait for her fate to be decided with yakuza law.

One day, she was so angry when she saw how the woman in Hinode branch family was treated as a token to acquire power and status. She lashed out to her father but he just sent her back to her room and she was punished and reprimanded because of it. She cried all day and there was Ken patiently waited for her outside the room. He said nothing and kept on standing in front of her door.

For the second day, she still locked herself in the room refused to eat. Ken tried a few time to pacify her but it was useless. Ken was so worried and finally open her door and forced her to eat. That was the first time in her life Ken was able to scare the hell out of her. Ken angry look and his words she will never forget.

"You act like a spoiled princess but you want to be treated like a queen. Show everyone your capabilities and shut them up with proof. This is a man world and a man proves themselves by action, not emotion. Prove to them you are better. If you want to build a ship, don't drum up the men to gather wood, divide the work, and give orders. Instead, teach them to yearn for the vast and endless sea. Teach them, Kahina."

His words opened her eyes and blown her mind. Start from that day, she works extra hard to gain power and money. She climbed herself to the point no man will underestimate her capabilities. This also one of the reasons she pursues Touma.

Her recollection of Ken was disturbed a notification sound from her phone.

[Am I wrong? It was lilies, right?]

Touma's text wasn't able to cheer her at all but she really appreciates his attempt of the gesture. He thought the culprit targeted her because of him but now she is sure it also intended to target her too.

'Do we have the same enemy?' The thought bothered her. For Kahina and Touma to have the same enemy it is quite impossible because the enemy of her family will be Anzo's ally and it goes vice versa.

The power struggle between Anzo and Hinode Family is well known in Tokyo. Actually, all over Japan but the disputes among them rarely involve citizens. That is the reason none of their activities and feud was bothered by authorities.

She has been kidnapped, attempted assassination and threatens for almost her entire life but never did they provoke her like this. How twisted this person to send her this kind of picture?

Her phone receives another text and again it was from Touma.

[Should I send you other flowers? Which flower do you like?]

She read the text and this time she can't help but smile. He is so adorable. Since she woke up, he is more active in their relationship. Does her accident affect him too much? She sighed. If he kept on doing this, she afraid she can't stop herself to fall deeper for him. Dangerous. Too dangerous.
