Chapter 17 Part 1

Ye Qianxi was full of vitality whenever she was in good mood. Yet, when an unpleasant topic entered her mind, she would vehemently deny that it had affected her in any way.

Xu Jimo had gained enough ‘Qianxi experience bar’ to know how she would react.

He waved to her, “Come, come over.”

“En?” She moved closer.

“It’s only fair for a lovely person to encounter some difficult moments in life.” He stretched out his arm to lightly rub the back of her neck, then earnestly spoke, “In your case, you probably will have some bad luck for a while.”

“What are you talking about……” Qianxi pulled her head out of his arm and picked up a pillow to throw at his face. “I’m so nice to you! How dare you jinx me!”

She soon grew concerned when Xu Jimo didn’t make a sound. It couldn’t be? Did the pillow knock him out?

She lifted the pillow and discovered Xu Jimo was lying there in his original position watching her with great interest.

“......what are looking at me for.”

Ye Qianxi threw the pillow back down and ran out of the room…..

Xu Jimo’s voice came from behind asking for his watch back.

Qianxi replied in irritation down the hallway, “I’m not going to give it back!”

She received a message from Xu Jimo at 9:40 that night. He wasn’t asking for his watch back. “We’ll order a late night meal after the skirmish. What do you want to eat?”

“You set the alarm at 9:40 and still plan to go to the skirmish?”

“En.”

“You don’t follow your doctor’s orders and have the gall to act all cheeky with me. Your annoyance level has just gone up another 200!”

“I’m afraid that I have to annoy you.” He had no better answer. “Can I make it up with a late night meal?”

“No, you can’t. But you can still get a bunch of seafood.”

“Got it.”

Xu Jimo walked into the training room. Everyone came up to ask, “Are you ok, boss?” “Jimo Ge, you alright?”, he nodded and asked who was responsible for ordering the late night meal. Li Cang raised his hand, “Just let me know what you want to eat, boss!”

Xu Jimo ordered whatever seafood they were able to get at this hour in the night.

Li Cang was dubious after his boss finished the list. Didn’t boss say he has a stomach ache? Could he eat all of these?

After they ordered the late night meal, everyone began to adjust their computers.

The skirmish with GAS was arranged before they came to the US. KG, as a new team, had very little experience in major competitions, especially the chance to play against international professional teams. Thus skirmish proposed by GAS was a precious opportunity for the team.

KG and GAS played three rounds. During the games, it exposed many KG’s shortcomings and their inability to adapt to international competitions. All the KG players looked gloomy.

The official competition would start in two days. If they lost during the wild card round, they would have to go home without even entering the real competition. It would be a result that no one could accept.

Xu Jimo seemed especially concerned. He gathered all the players afterwards to have strategy meeting. The meeting lasted till 2 am in the morning before he let everyone return think about it.

Even Li Cang, most energetic of the bunch, was dispirited while walking in the late night hallway. “What stage of the competition do you think we can reach if we keep playing like this?”

“There’s no use dwelling on it. Just keep playing.” Cheng Yang patted his shoulder. “Besides, it’s not that bad. Boss wasn’t in his best condition tonight. If he was like his old self, the mid of the other side would’ve died long ago and we wouldn’t be under so much pressure later on……”

While they were analyzing, Qianxi, holding a hot water bag, appeared at the other side of the hallway. “Ai, young lady boss, you still awake?”

She looked behind them and asked, “Where’s your boss?”

The two also looked back, “Don’t know. He was just here. Are you waiting for him?”

“En, is it that one?” She pointed at the room with lights on.

“That’s right. The one at the end.”

Qianxi kept going following their direction. Li Cang and Cheng Yang stayed put wondering what had happened, weren’t they bickering earlier…...they got over it that quickly?

Qianxi walked to the door of the training room and heard another voice inside.

It was a sweet and soft voice, a voice belonging to a popular commentator. “You really don’t need it? I always bring it with me whenever I’m working as a commentator. I use it when I don’t feel well……”

“It’s not necessary. Thanks.”

Xiaoyue spoke disappointedly, “Well…...rest well. You’re a hard worker, training till this late at night. Then, I’ll be off?”

“En.”

Qianxi witnessed a beauty, holding a hot water bag, dejectedly walked out of the room. Perhaps she was truly in a bad mood, she didn’t even acknowledge Qianxi before she ran away.

Qianxi was considering to walk away as well.

Then she heard coughing coming from inside the room.

He was really a difficult patient. She had ordered him not to do any training, not to stay up late, but he had done it all.  Qianxi put her hands behind her and cleared her throat to announce her arrival.

Xu Jimo pushed the pause button and turned around, “Haven’t you gone to sleep yet?”

“Well…...someone still owes me my late night meal. I can’t sleep with an empty stomach.” She walked to look through the bags irritatedly and found all the empty boxes left behind by Li Cang and the others.

Xu Jimo pushes over the box besides him, “It’s here.”

She reached out for it, but he spoke again, “Don’t eat it.”

“I was in a hurry to have a meeting and forgot about this. It’s cold now.” He frowned, probably from not keeping his promise.

She never seemed to eat cold food? To keep her stomach healthy.

“When I’m famished, I’ll not only eat cold seafood noodles, even cold bread, too.” Qianxi put down the hot water bag on the desk and picked up the chopsticks to start eating. “Why are you still here so late? To meet up with the beautiful commentator?”

“I’m watching the video.” Xu Jimo reached over her to pick up the hot water bag. He weighed it on his hand and asked, “What is this thing?”
