Chapter 13 Part 2

The passengers on the airplane gradually quieted down, many had fallen asleep.  Qianxi watched the clouds through the window.  The issue which weighed heavily in her mind, which she had habitually ignored: What was her family doing right now?

Her dad’s secretary tried to talk to her several times.  She always stubbornly rejected.  Her close friends all advised her to make peace and communicate with her family, but she always couldn’t muster up the courage to do it.  She feared that it would be the same as the past hundreds of thousands of times she tried “communicating” with them.  They all ended up with her unconditional surrender.

Confusion, sadness, entanglement……

Suddenly she felt a little bit…...itchy?

Qianxi all of sudden was pulled back to reality.  She found the source of the itchiness, feeling like being touched by a small animal, was Xu Jimo’s hair.

He was sound in sleep, his head, resting against the neck pillow, tilted to one side.  His bangs had fallen down, scratching the skin of her collar that was exposed by her shoulderless top.  She had to adjust her position in order rid herself of the itchy feeling, it was like being scratched by the claw of a small kitten, again and again.

When she tried to adjust to different position, her shoulder suddenly felt much heavier.

He had unexpectedly…...leaned onto her shoulder.

Qianxi suddenly became rigid all over.  Her breath became shallow and she carefully used the corner of her eyes to scan for Li Cang and Cheng Yang, the two gossipers.  She found they were both sound asleep…...huh, it’s good, it’s good.

Wait a minute…...what was she thinking.  The script was completely wrong!

No matter what, she should be the one to accidentally fall onto his shoulders while she was sleeping.  Wasn’t that how it goes in the movies?

No, no, it wasn’t right either…...who wants to lean on his shoulder.

Qianxi felt ten thousand ideas fighting against each other in her brain.  The only thing she was certain of: don’t wake him up.  What if he couldn’t fall back to sleep again?  He wouldn’t be able to adjust to the time difference if he couldn’t sleep.  He couldn’t focus on competition if he couldn’t adjust to the time difference.  He couldn’t win the championship if he couldn’t focus on competition……

She felt that a big wok had fallen down from the sky and hung over her head.

Qianxi maintained her position unflinchingly.  She could only see the computer screen at this angle.  The white clothed spellcaster she selected before was floating around on the screen.  She didn’t notice before that there was a blue ID below the Kael’s name because she had been focused on playing the game.

Kill, it was Xu Jimo’s ID.

Only the player of a hero who had controlled the whole esports competition would win the privilege to have his ID accompanying the hero’s name.  Whenever a player played this game, there was a certain possibility that the champion’s ID displayed simultaneously with the hero.  This was the game developer’s award to one of their top players.

He was at the peak of this video game.  Why did he retire for three years then come back and start all over?

The man lying on her shoulder seemed to be waking up while she was thinking.  He raised his head from her shoulder slowly.  Qianxi subconsciously turned aside to look at him and happened to see his eyes just as they opened.

It was a pair of calm, cold, and very clear eyes.

Why did he stare at her straight and act like nothing had happened after using her shoulder without acquiring her approval first?

Even the thick-skinned Qianxi wanted to hide from his stare.

He asked.  “Are you not happy about it?”

It wasn’t a problem of being happy or unhappy about it……

Xu Jimo took off the neck pillow and seemed to have thought of something.  His expression made others feel like he should be the one who was unhappy.

“Didn’t Li Cang do the same thing.  You weren’t angry at that time.”  His tone sounded indignant.

Did such a thing happen before?  She couldn’t remember it at all.

But the important issue was that the way he said it made her feel that he was sarcastically referring to her as an easy girl.  So she shouldn’t feel uncomfortable to this kind of physical contact.

She was unhappy earlier, but, now, she was really annoyed.

“Then please continue to lie on my shoulder.”  She straightened up her neck as if she had nothing to lose.

Xu Jimo was silent.  Did he irritate and piss off the young lady without noticing it?

Seeing no reaction from him, she retracted back a little bit.  “Humph. Did you do it on purpose just now?  You didn’t fall asleep at all.”

“No, I didn’t do it on purpose.”  He didn’t know why he was in such a good mood.  He felt the way she got irritated to be very interesting.  He looked at the side of her neck and said, “But I really want to do it on purpose.”

Qianxi retracted to the corner in shock, afraid that he would do it again. She crossed her arms in front of her chest.  “Do you know that what you are doing is flirting……”

“Yes, I’m flirting.”  He admitted it naturally.  The corners of his mouth popped up into the semblance of a smile.  “You make people really want to flirt with you.”

Qianxi was stunned for three seconds, then abruptly turned around, refusing to look at him. She even forgot that she was originally angry at him.

Xu Jimo had changed into a completely different person after waking up……

Did he just, sort of…...confess?
