For Qianxi, she had hidden under the shade of a great tree and lost her dreams for the future. Yet, she would feel satisfaction if she could provide temporary shelter for those who were still struggling forwards.

To Xu Jimo, it felt like he had suddenly joined a reality show where a red leather chair had turned around, revealing Qianxi beckoning him with a finger.  “I want you, come talk about your dreams.”......

Fortunately, a scream saved him. “Boss, we got a problem!”

Xu Jimo intercepted Li Cang as he flew at him.  “What’s wrong?”

“Wei Lai, Wei Lai passed out……”

As part of a medical staff in the past, Qianxi quickly ran over out of habit.  The 160 cm tall little boy lied on the floor in the break room.  Everyone was too afraid to move him and were merely calling his name.  Cheng Yang was calling for an ambulance.

Qianxi squatted down and began chest compressions.  Li Cang came up next to her and worriedly asked.  “Young lady boss, can you do it?  Or let us do it.”  Qianxi pushed them away.  “At least I have a qualified nurse certificate. Ok.  You stand aside……”  She raised up Wei Lai’s neck from behind and, amid the surprised gaze of everyone, bent over prepared to perform mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.  Li Cang was so shocked that he hurried to stop her.  “I know how to do this, let me do it!”

By the time the ambulance arrived, Wei Lai was in a daze, but awake. But he still went through a basic physical examination.

After he was stabilized and went through an interrogation, the others found out what had happened.  Wei Lai wanted to take a sick leave from school in order to play in the competition, so he took cold showers on purpose to catch a cold.  He fainted from the cold combined with exhaustion after pulling all nighters to finish his homework.  Xu Jimo was lecturing him in the ward, one on one.  All the other KG members remained outside.

Qianxi peeked inside through the glass on the door.  Wei Lai was hooked to an IV and docilely listening with a bowed head.

Xu Jimo’s expression had never been so serious. He spoke with chilling voice.  “If the competition has affected your normal life, you can just get this month’s salary and leave without paying the penalty for cancelling the contract.”

Wei Lai stammered.  “The International Invitation Competition is just starting, if I leave……”

“I will petition to the organizer to use an alternate.”

“No!  Jimo Ge….I don’t want to leave.  Let me stay.  I assure you that I won’t do it again!”

“Can you handle the school work at the same time?”  Xu Jimo was strict, but there was guilt in his eyes.  Perhaps, when this boy begged to join KG, he was wrong to agree from the start.

“I……”  He ignored the IV needle in his arm and grabbed Xu Jimo’s arm.  “I can do it.  Jimo Ge, give me another chance.  I won’t make a mistake again……”

Seeing fresh blood flowing up the IV line, Qianxi couldn’t help let out a little squeak in concern.

Xu Jimo heard and turned his head back.  He saw Qianxi pressed against the glass, eavesdropping on them.  Realizing that she’d been caught, Qianxi blinked her eyes innocently.  She quietly stepped backward so the others wouldn’t notice.  Xu Jimo waved to her.  “You come in.”

“Me?” She walked into the ward under the watchful eyes of all the KG members.

Wei Lai didn’t know her, but had heard her name from his teammates.  Li Cang gave a description of her, “A living God of Wealth.”

The boy nodded to her politely.  Since she had performed CPR on him, Qianxi felt like a mother to him. She warmly smiled to him and waved to greet him.

Suddenly Xu Jimo spoke.  “It’s her who saved you just now.  You thank her yourself.”

Wai Lai followed obediently, speaking bashfully, “Thank you, Qianxi Jie……”

His voice was clear, sweet, soft and somewhat childish.  Qianxi was instantly charmed.  There was nothing this cute boy could do that was unforgivable!  Xu Jimo was so mean to him!  She pinched his face.  “It’s alright, it’s alright. Just be good in the future. Young people need to take good care of their health!”

Qianxi looked at the pathetic look in Wei Lai’s eyes, her motherly love burst out.  “It’s very easy to handle school work at the same time.  The middle school you are attending now is to submerge each student in homework!  Granted that you don’t have enough time, you can transfer to an international school.  Then you won’t have to maintain your attendance rate and there’s less busy work.”

“Really?”

“Uhm, but they teach somewhat different material.  You will have to study for the TOEFL and SAT exams after you go to high school.  Briefly speaking, learn English and you can wander the world!”

Qianxi started to explain the pros and cons of attending international school without stopping.  Wai Lai listened with his full attention.  Xu Jimo found there was no room for him to speak.  In the end, the adult and the young boy reach an agreement.  Qianxi concluded with, “Don’t worry about it.  I will pay your tuition!”.

Wai Lai grabbed at the straw.  Whatever Xu Jimo had told him earlier didn’t matter now. Xu Jimo walked into the hallway without a word.

It was only then that Qinaxi realized his existence, she hurriedly said goodbye to Wai Lai and went after him.

Did she…...act on her own.  Was he angry?

Qianxi looked around and found Xu Jimo walking down the stairs on purpose without taking the elevator.  She opened the door to the stairs and a wave of dust assault her face.  She looked at the man in front of her and had no choice but follow him closely.  “Are you mad?  Really?”

He was silent.

Qianxi quickly explained.  “I just thought this is also a good solution.  Since there is a good way to solve the conflict, then we don’t need to push him to give up……”  The silent man didn’t seem to care about her suggestion and continued to walk steadily down.

She walked slower and slower. Her voice became lower and lower.  “I’m sorry.  I didn’t consider it thoroughly.  You had your own plan and I’m too talkative, causing more problems.  I’m sorry……”

Xu Jimo walked for a while.  The vague sound behind him stopped, he couldn’t hear her voice anymore

He stopped and turned back to look at her.  Qianxi stood under the dim light that was sound activated. The light above her abruptly switched off, enveloping her in darkness.

Xu Jimo paused a little bit, then walked through the darkness back to face her.

When he spoke, the light poured back down.

“I’m not mad at you.”  He said.

Qianxi was shocked by his unexpected appearance and the sudden brightness.  Xu Jimo stood on a stair lower than her, but he was still taller than her by several centimeters.  He lowered his head slightly in order to look her in the eyes.   “I need to think about this incident by myself quietly, I’m not angry at you. As for you, since you have decided to invest in KG, you have the right to express you opinion on anything about KG regardless whether you invest for fun or not.  I will always consider your opinions carefully.”

He specifically said it slowly in order to calm her down and repeated it seriously.  “Very carefully consider it.”

Qianxi then raised her head.  Her eyebrows twisted and tangled.  “But just now, you…...ignored me……”

Seeing how frustrated she was, he couldn’t help but laugh.  “You are really…...a little kid.”  He lowered his voice.  “Now I’m not ignoring you.”

His voice sounded a little tired in the middle of the night, low and hoarse yet sincere.

“Who is a little kid……”  Qianxi muttered to save some face.

She obviously was.  He was treating her just like someone did a child.  He couldn’t be silent, because silence was equivalent to being angry.  He couldn’t be expressionless, because being expressionless was also equivalent to being angry…...Xu Jimo was slowly learning on how to interact with her. He laughed helplessly.  “It’s already so late.  Where do you want to go?”
