Chapter 826 Measuring China
Just like that, a month went round and round and passed quickly.
This year's Spring Festival, Chang Haonan went home without a job again.
Basically, we will run between Xingcheng and Jinling to solve the problem of radar adaptation.
However, for him, as long as the calibration problem can be solved, having one more radar and one less radar will not actually affect the workload.
On the contrary, more application data can be obtained for iteration.
Especially for those radars whose main functions are air-to-air radars, the same core programs can be used.
The most we can do is to take into account the different bands and adjust the weight coefficients of several typical features.
Of course, at his own insistence, the 14th Institute still installed a small switch for the new target recognition algorithm.
Can be used at the pilot/operator's discretion—
Although no negative effects of this new technology have been found in the current tests, anyone who has written a program knows that if there is no problem after testing 10,000 times, there is no guarantee that there will be no problems in the future.
The story about a customer who went into a bar and ordered a fried rice and the bar exploded [Note 1], although it probably didn't exist in this era, Chang Haonan had heard of it.
The business trip life of running back and forth lasted until the end of February.
At a time when the media across the country and even most of the world are still paying attention to the series of impacts brought about by China's formal accession to the WTO half a month ago.
February 25, 2000.
With almost no one paying attention, the first transmission remote sensing satellite that belongs entirely to China (ZiYi-1 is jointly used by my country and Brazil) was sent into space by the Long March 4B carrier rocket at the Jinyang Satellite Launch Center. .
After experiencing a series of near misses such as the loss of satellite signals, on March 10, the first hyperspectral remote sensing data of Longyuan and surrounding areas was transmitted back to the Tanzhou Measurement and Control Station located in the northern suburbs of Beijing.
Chang Haonan, Meng Zhenyuan, and several comrades from the National Space Administration have been waiting here for a long time.
“Mr. Luan, Mr. Chang, and Professor Meng, this is the first clear image taken by our Ziyu-201 satellite.”
In front of the big screen of the measurement and control center, Li Nianheng, chief engineer of the remote sensing mission, reported to the three people standing next to him.
In addition to Chang Haonan and Meng Zhenyuan, the other person is Luan Wenjie, the director of the National Space Administration.
Of course, since the National Space Administration and the System Engineering Department of the Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense belong to two brands and one team, Chang Haonan and Luan Wenjie are old acquaintances.
It's just that I haven't had much work contact in the past.
“This should be the image after multi-band fusion, right?”
Chang Haonan asked, looking at a huge black and white grayscale photo on the screen.
Or strictly speaking, several photos overlapped together.
From the photo, you can vaguely see the mountain ridges, water systems, cities and roads.
In addition, there are some surface features.
These are the data captured by hyperspectral sensors.
Since the penetrating power of the pure visible light band is extremely weak, only the most superficial conditions can be seen.
But the advantage is that it is very intuitive.
Mountains are mountains, and water is water.
As the detection band range increases, the amount of information that can be seen also increases.
For example, forests, farmland, deserts or grasslands under the white snow.
These cannot be directly distinguished in the visible light band.
However, a large amount of multi-dimensional data is mixed together, which will also make it impossible for the human eye alone to distinguish the contents of the data map.
The image on the big screen now contains clearly visible multiple layers of information, and has obviously undergone some processing.
“That's right, we followed the most advanced foreign technology this time and adopted the technology of transmission and processing at the same time, so that the results can be produced as soon as the image transmission is completed.”
Li Nianheng replied:
“Otherwise, the hyperspectral telemetry data is a unified map, and nothing can be seen with the naked eye.”
Actually, this is the information gap between the two parties.
In principle, Meng Zhenyuan's project will not officially start until the satellite is put into orbit.
It hasn't even been half a month so far.
Therefore, the original intention of the space agency today is to let them visit the measurement and control center, get familiar with the basic situation, and then go back and start working on the project.
Since it is a visit, it must be intuitive and understandable.
That's why I specially put this picture.
In the end, Chang Haonan came here to work directly.
Huaxia Petroleum has even sent out its exploration team in advance, waiting to receive specific exploration sites.
So what he wants is obviously not to watch the fun:
“Then you should have preserved the original data?”
“Of course, they are all kept in the server room. I can take you there at any time when you need them in the future.”
Li Nianheng said and pointed at his feet.
Hearing this answer, Chang Haonan breathed a sigh of relief.
His worst fears did not happen.
If the data processing is done on a space-based computer rather than on the ground, then the trouble will be a bit bigger.
Because the extraction algorithm of manifold learning is completely different from the existing multi-band fusion algorithm, there is no way to reuse data that has been "contaminated" by the latter.
He calmed down and said to Li Nianheng: "Let's go now. Our algorithm framework has been set up and raw data needs to be extracted."
"good…"
Li Nianheng had already received instructions from Luan Wenjie. As long as it did not violate the principles and did not involve satellite orbit and attitude control, the entire measurement and control team worked around Chang Haonan.
So he nodded almost subconsciously, and then prepared to take Chang Haonan to the server room.
However, before he could finish saying the word "ok", his turning movement stopped.
After a few seconds, he slowly looked back.
At this time, Luan Wenjie next to him had also set his sights on Chang Haonan and Meng Zhenyuan.
“Have you... figured out your algorithm?”
Li Nianheng's brain was running rapidly, but after thinking about it, this sentence seemed to have only a literal meaning...
but…
Zhuizi No. 2 has only been on the line for 15 days.
Excluding the day when the signal was not found at the beginning.
Only 14 days.
Even our Measurement and Control Center has just received the first complete surveying and mapping results of northwest China.
Then you two are here for the first time and don't even know which way the door of the measurement and control center opens.
Have you figured out the algorithm for extracting and analyzing remote sensing data?
Looking at the confused and confused eyes of the two people in front of him, Meng Zhenyuan took a step back calmly.
“Professor Chang did it, not us, it has nothing to do with me...”
Of course, he only said this in his heart and could not really say it out loud.
“Ahem…”
Chang Haonan cleared his throat:
“In principle, we can't say it's been done yet.”
“The framework is just set up. Next, we need to compare it with the on-site exploration data, check the results, and then make some adjustments based on the actual situation.”
But Luan Wenjie and Li Nianheng both had expressions on their faces like "I've read so many books, you can't fool me"—
These two things before and after can't be compared at all, right?
If building an algorithm framework is like building a house, then adjusting parameters and checking can only be regarded as decoration.
Although it is also a necessary process before moving in, its importance and time required are obviously not at the same level as the former.
Now that the land equivalent to mine has been granted to you, the building has already been erected.
Absolutely outrageous.
However, despite being shocked, the two of them still had their sanity.
After calming down a little, he took Chang Haonan and Meng Zhenyuan to the computer room where the original data was stored.
To ensure information security, using a laptop to physically connect to a server is definitely not allowed.
Just make a copy of the data, and then you can do whatever you want.
Fortunately, there is no shortage of supercomputer at the measurement and control center, so Chang Haonan does not even need to return to Beijing Airlines, but directly works on site.
Compared with the radar echo data processed in previous tests, the amount of information contained in each hyperspectral data map is more than one order of magnitude, so it is impossible to obtain real-time processing like on an early warning aircraft.
In fact, it took five hours to complete the first step of local embedded feature extraction.
But the effect is also immediate.
“These places… seem to be different from the results obtained from data fusion…”
Li Nianheng held his laptop and approached him, comparing the pictures on the screen in front of Chang Haonan.
Compared with the picture I saw in the hall before, there is already a lot more information.
“It's strange…”
Li Nianheng pushed up the glasses on the bridge of his nose:
“Look here.”
He said and pointed to the position slightly above the picture.
North of Longyuan, a land parcel in Mongolia Province.
"This place should be an entire Alxa Desert, but the result after processing...not to mention comparing with other deserts, even within this area, the signal characteristics are all messy, and it feels like there is noise that has not been eliminated. "
This is not a place where the West-East Gas Pipeline will pass, but satellite images were taken together.
Chang Haonan followed Li Nianheng's instructions and took a look.
That's really the case.
“Don't worry, we will need to do regularized matrix decomposition and concept decomposition later.”
After looking at it for a while, he decided to give up temporarily:
“This picture is only a semi-finished product at the moment, and it is only exported for comparison with the finished product.”
“After all the data extraction is completed tomorrow, you should be able to see it more clearly.”
