The Master of Cards Chapter 35: Trying the Lotus Seed

Alex spent the next week competing in the Card Frontier. He had crossed a 20 streak in PvP as well as increased his speed, defeating the 20th level of the 1 Card Trial Tower. He had also been defeating the Warrior University Freshmen, which had become a gossip event in itself.

The ID Your Dad is a Noob had become a notorious figure in Card Frontier. If his achievement in the 1 Card Trial Tower wasn't amazing enough, his malicious destruction of Warrior University students had made him infamous.

People began to guess who this person was, but his face was blurred. Most guessed he was a mysterious genius from a powerful family or a freshman genius at one of the Universities.

Meanwhile, the slimy gossiper who kept posting scandalous posts against warrior university students was being hunted down. The Warrior University Students had recognized him as the number one enemy of the school and his ID Master of Ducks was constantly challenged by them, but he never accepted the challenges. Instead he used his dangerous hands to spread malicious videos about how pathetic and weak the Warrior University Students were.

At this moment, a low key student in Warrior University was snickering in his dorm room. He was none other than Master of Ducks.

"Haha, I will take my revenge on Warrior University! Your Dad is a Noob is really the best. I must make some publicity for him!" The student had a cruel smile.

Because of his constant viral posts about Warrior University, he had been made a VIP reporter, much to the irritation of the Warrior University student.

Suddenly a new pinned post arrived on the news forum courtesy of Master of Ducks.

"The Mysterious Identity of Your Dad is a Noob - His father was bullied by Warrior University. The Warrior University suppressed his father's talent. To take revenge he secretly joined Warrior University and maintained a low key, picking the arrogant students one by one to humiliate and destroy them!"

This post shocked thousands upon thousands of people. The forums had exploded and the Warrior University Students were stunned. They were suddenly shocked, could this story be true?

In actuality, this was the story of Master of Ducks. Although he didn't manage to take revenge himself, he just put up Your Dad is a Noob as his own representative. He felt a weird satisfaction and excitement as he riled up the students of Warrior University.

The Warrior Students were furious. They had to find out who this mole inside their campus was that was hell bent on destroying their reputation.

"He has to be defeated at any cost!" Students yelled in anger. Even Master of Ducks was hidden among that group, faking his anger while evilly snickering inside.

Meanwhile Alex had come to the store to purchase two Lotus Seeds worth 1000 points each. He too read the news forum and was shocked by the absolute crap Master of Ducks wrote, but he smiled. These posts helped him get a lot of points from these Warrior University students.

After purchasing the Pure Lotus Seed, he asked for them to be anonymously shipped to the Dojo. A few hours later, to Alex's shock, a small package had arrived by drone.

He opened it to find a two seeds in it. The seeds were white in color and actually glowed like diamonds. Along were instructions on how to consume the lotus seed. The gentler method was to dissolve it in hot water and drink the water. The other method was to directly swallow it, which was intended for breakthroughs.

Alex was planning to try both methods. But first he entered his inner world and tried to sense the seeds through the inner world. He could see a bright glow of the light element attribute within the seeds.

He found an immense amount of Light attribute energy, but he quickly realized that this wasn't source energy. It had light attribute, but the movement of the energy was almost chaotic and violent, compared to the relatively gentle flows of the light attribute source energy on Earth.

"The attributes in the Card Dimension display a different behavior than the attributes on earth? The light attribute is actually frantic much like fire attribute on earth instead of being gentle like water." Alex murmured.

He didn't think too much anymore and took the water in which one lotus seed was dissolved and swallowed it.

The moment the liquif entered his body, it turned disappeared and turned into a gentle silk like energy flow that slowly moved around his body before coming to his base card. Alex could see the base card turn to the light attribute form and absorb the energy, which delighted him. He quickly began to practice the Flash card absorption formula to convert that absorbed energy into the chain leading to the Rank 1 card path.

However, running the formula didn't work at all. It was as if the formula didn't detect this light attribute source energy in his body. The energy was directly absorbed by his base card and Alex couldn't sense it anymore, nor could he feel any changes.

Sighing, he swallowed the second lotus seed directly. Once again the same thing happened, though the energy was more violent this time. It was directly absorbed by his white card. The absorption formula for the Flash card was completely useless.

However, Alex suddenly noticed something peculiar with his inner eye. He immediately summoned the base card out in its light form.

What used to be a completely blank image filled with white at the center of the card now had a single dot on the top left corner. Alex wasn't sure what it was, but he guessed it was probably the energy from the lotus seeds that had turned into this dot.

"So the special items from the Card dimension are not useless, but their use is not clear. However, the training formula is completely useless for me. Now the thing left to try is the card dimension. Looks like it is time for me to enter it."
