The Master of Cards Chapter 17: Minor Interference

Alex saw that the network was finally established and he received a call from Old Ren.

"Kid, you did a good job. We will get you all out." He said.

"How do you know what I did?" Alex asked in seriousness.

"I can see you right now on the rooftop, as well as everyone else gathered here observing the hostage situation." Old Ren said.

Alex tried looking around, but didn't manage to see anyone. He described what he had seen inside the school as well as the powerful Lord and that many members of scarlet tide here were from the school itself.

Alex sighed and then told Old Ren his plan. "Old man, I have put a member of scarlet tide unconscious. I was thinking of disguising as them and hitting them from the inside."

Old Ren stopped him. "Alex, you have barely generated a seed, don't try anything stupid. Just hide."

Alex sighed. "Some students inside have been killed."

Old Ren was stunned into silence. Beside him a powerful man who seemed to be emitting electricity looked towards the school rooftop and saw the young man on the phone as well as the robe in his hand.

The man, Will, then spoke into Old Ren's phone. "Kid, did you find any cards on the Scarlet Tide person?"

Alex was stunned when he heard the voice, for he identified it as the Will from earlier. "I have. Let me send the photos, now that I have network."

Soon the group from the special department looked at the three cards in Alex's hands. These were three one time use cards. If the scarlet tide member had any battle cards, they were probably within the body.

"A stun card, explosion card and a disguise card and all are blood type." Old Ren sighed. "Its possible, but I can't allow this. He is a pup under my care. If something happens to him..."

Will looked at Old Ren. "Ren, you old bastard. You know the stakes here. How many lives we could potentially lose? Besides, you shouldn't stifle the boy, he came up with the plan himself. We can distract these Scarlet idiots from outside while we guide him from inside."

"Will, this kid has never used a card before. He just formed a seed a month ago." Old Ren shook his head.

Will took the phone. "Alex. Can you use the one time use cards?"

"I have never used one. If you explain the method I could try." Alex replied.

"You need to connect the card using your inner world and then guide the source energy into it, directing the release at a target." Will sighed. "Can you do it?"

Alex didn't reply. He took the stun card and then immediately fused with his inner world statue and tried to connect with the card. It happened within an instant and then Alex could see that he could direct a huge amount of Source Energy into the card and activate it.

"I just tried it. I can connect to the card and activate it. I just haven't tried the final step to activate and set a target." Alex spoke after a minute.

"Good! Here's what we hope you can do, while we try to distract the Scarlet Tide members." Will spoke with renewed vigor.

Inside the Lord was also feeling a little desperate. He had hostages, but his escape route had been cut off. "Just how did the special department find out despite my barrier!" The Lord hissed in anger.

At this moment Will's voice blasted through the school. "Scarlet Tide, today is the day your little cult is eradicated off of this earth. Your base has already been besieged!"

"Impossible!" The whisper hissed.

Meanwhile, Alex quietly wore the Red robe with the black hood and covered his face. He then quietly walked down the fire exit. According to Will's instructions, the Lord was on the third floor.

Alex calmly made his way to the ground floor and found two scarlet hooded individuals on the door to the entrance. Those two didn't look too surprised at seeing the third hooded figure.

"Did the lord decide to send more initiates here?" He asked Alex under the hood.

Alex nodded. But then, he showed a fearful expression as he pointed behind the two. The two were trigger ready and immediately looked behind them with vigilance, but suddenly they felt a powerful shockwave hit their backs stunning the both of them.

Then Alex hit the two of them with all his might on their heads, making them pass out. He tied them up and searched them for cards. He found a couple of stun cards, a couple of disguise cards, an explosion card and a barrier card.

Alex quietly used the disguise card as explained by Will to turn into one of the two felled initiates before calmly moving around in search for more initiates on the ground floor. He found three guarding the room where the teachers were locked in. He immediately fooled them as before, stunning them and then knocking them totally unconscious.

The teachers suddenly saw the door open and a robed person enter and their hopes crashed again. However, they saw the robed person raise his finger to shush them and then brought inside the five knocked out individuals and dumped them inside the room.

Alex looked at the teachers. None of the card tutors were present today. "Is anyone of you proficient in using cards?" Alex asked.

The teachers looked at each other in dismay, but then Alex's own homeroom teacher raised her hand. "I can use them."

Alex nodded and untied her. "Clarence Teacher, use this disguise card on that Scarlet Tide initiate and wear the robe. Your phone should be working now, just call my number, I'll put you on a conference call." He quickly instructed.

The other teachers looked on in shock. But Clarence teacher blankly did as she was instructed.
