She landed in the living room, it was dark.
Maybe Amanda has fallen asleep already?
There are only two bedrooms in the house. She went to the first room and saw Amanda still awake, typing on her laptop, while her son was sleeping soundly on the bed.
Jessy decided to come back thirty minutes later, maybe Amanda was already sleeping during that time.
She went back to the living room and settled on the cozy sofa.
She had to mute her phone, she doesn't want the phone to ring suddenly while she was spying on the woman.
A few minutes later.
Jessy looked up at the wall clock near the window and saw that it's already 11:00 in the evening.
She goes back to the bedroom to check on Amanda. She found the woman already lying on the bed preparing to sleep.
The lampshade beside the bed was giving the entire room a warm glow.
Jessy wastes no time...
She waved her hand to the occupants of the bed and freezes them on the spot.
Jessy went to the woman's side and placed her hands on Amanda's head and starts reading her memory...
Thirty minutes later.
Jessy can't see any indication that Amanda and her father were seeing each other or they have communication through the years.
She had seen the photo of Jason Garcia.
Although she saw that Amanda meets a lot of people in her memory...
She can't see Jason's face in her daughter's recent memory.
Hmm, looks like Amanda no longer knows where her father is, however she noticed that Amanda was always logging into this dating site and regularly chatted with a woman online. And that woman invited her to a birthday party that will be held out of town, tomorrow Saturday, the celebration will start at lunchtime and will last until the evening.
That was the last thing the woman and Amanda were chatting about.
Since she still has no leads, Jessy has no choice but to invite herself to the party.
She will just wake up early morning tomorrow and come back here to travel with the mother and son.
She unfreezes Amanda and her son and exited the room to teleport back into her bedroom in the mansion.
A few minutes later, Jessy landed in her bedroom, she went inside the bathroom to clean herself and then jumped into her bed to sleep.
She set the alarm on her phone at 7:00 in the morning and shut her eyes to sleep.
...
The next day.
Jessy turns off the alarm on her phone the moment it produces its first ring.
She hurriedly went inside the bathroom and took a quick bath.
It took only thirty minutes for her to finish bathing, combing her hair, and donning fresh clothes.
Done dressing up, she immediately turned herself into her invisible form and teleported into Amanda's apartment. She landed in the living room and found the mother and son already awake.
They were eating breakfast on the dining table.
Jessy went back to the living room to wait for them there. She saw one backpack ready for travel in the living room.
She exited the house and hovered in the air, watching the houses and buildings below her.
Thirty minutes later, Amanda and her son exited the house and flagged a taxicab.
They went to a bus station nearby.
From the station, they rode the bus heading to Santa Monica.
Jessy followed the bus in the air.
One hour later, they were already exiting the city proper and moving ahead to the countryside where the long stretch of magnificent green fields can be seen along the highway.
It was a refreshing and relaxing journey.
Jessy was enjoying it, especially that the weather wasn't too hot, she welcomes the cool breeze of the wind kinds of pleasant and soothing to her skin.
Two hours later.
The bus made a stop at the Santa Monica Bus Station.
Amanda and her son flagged a taxicab.
Jessy followed the vehicle above in the open air.
Thirty minutes later.
The taxi stopped in front of a bungalow house.
Amanda and her son exited the taxicab and a middle-aged woman opened the door of the house.
The woman and Amanda hugged each other, and the visitors were being ushered inside the house.
Jessy looked around her...
For a birthday party, this is one event that doesn't look like it.
She went to an open window and took a peek inside the house.
Hmm...there were indeed balloons, a cake and some dishes prepared in the table.
She saw the woman, Amanda, and the boy sitting on the sofa in the living room.
Besides them, she also saw a clown wearing a yellow overall costume. The clown was wearing a baseball hat on his head and his face was painted with bright colors such as yellow, red, and pink. The clown was touching the boy's head affectionately.
Then the clown put the boy in his lap, they messed around with each other, and their laughter vibrated around the living room.
She looked around her, she noticed that the nearest neighbor was about 40 to 50 meters away from the house.
She was expecting more children or visitors will arrive later to attend the party.
Jessy went to the shade under an oak tree and sat on the wooden chair. She will just wait here and observe what's gonna happen later.
Dang!
She's getting hungry! She hadn't eaten anything for breakfast yet.
She rose in the air and look far and wide. She has to find a small eatery or restaurant along the highway.
She recalled that she saw a restaurant along the highway earlier.
Jessy zoomed to the highway and saw a gasoline station and restaurant a few meters away from each other.
She hovered around the gasoline station. She found an empty toilet, she entered it... inside she transformed into her visible self.
Done with the transformation, she exited the toilet and sauntered towards the restaurant. She went inside, ordered some food, and pay the cashier what she owed and brought the tray containing her food on the first table near the door.
She just ordered Potato Salad and Yellow Squash Soup, she picked up the spoon and tasted the potato salad, then the soup, in fairness, they tasted flavorful!
Her phone starts ringing...she answered it.
"Hello Partner, where are you?" Oliver asked.
"I'm at Santa Monica, outside the city proper," she answered.
"Huh? What are you doing there?" he inquired in confusion.
"It's related to the job. I will finish my lunch first. I will call you later and explain everything," she said.
"Okay, enjoy your lunch. I will wait for your call. Bye!" Oliver said.
"Bye!" Jessy ended the call and put her phone back inside her sling bag.
She resumed eating her lunch.
A few minutes later, she was done devouring her food.
She exited the restaurant, walked a few meters away from the restaurant, and called Oliver.
"Spill the beans, partner! Do you have a strong lead why you are in Santa Monica right now?" Oliver asked excitedly.
Jessy shook her head. "I dunno. I'm not sure. I followed Amanda and her son, here. They're attending a birthday celebration of a friend? I will know later. I will call you again if something good will come up. Bye... partner!"
"Bye," Oliver replied.
Jessy went back to the toilet.
Inside the toilet, she transformed into her invisible self and teleported back into the house where Amanda and her son were staying.
