Chapter 3: Entwined Destiny
How dare he? How dare he? That one phrase echoed inside Sienna's mind. He was teasing her. Impertinent? He was long past that. She needed to have him tied up and sent to prison for his crimes.

"Princess!"

Both of them flinched as an urgent voice called from the other side of the curtains.

"Princess, are you alright?"

Her knight escort was asking too late.

Sienna didn't answer him. She didn't turn her eyes away from the man who was still looking intently at her.

If he had shown any hesitation or apprehension, Sienna would have yelled out to the knight. She would have told him to immediately bring Kuhn to his knees.

Instead, Kuhn became even bolder. He didn't disguise the desire in his eyes. He took his hand that was caressing her cheek and held up her chin as he lowered his face to hers.

He wasn't forcing her with his strength. His other hand on her wrist was actually loosening its hold. She could have struck his cheek and run away.

"Princess, I will enter."

"Don't come in." (Sienna)

Kuhn narrowed his eyes.

"Don't come in until I call for you." (Sienna)

"...Yes, Princess."

Their faces got closer together. Their lips were just about to touch. Their breaths tickled each other's faces.

"You could have stopped this, but you're the one who let go of the reins, Princess."

He spoke in a low whisper. He brushed his lips against hers. As if asking for permission, he gently looked down at her.

Sienna's eyes wavered. His hand on her wrist was burning. She was familiar with the tension brewing between them.

The Imperial family was normally void of emotions, and children were rare. An active sex life was actually encouraged. Therefore, the members of the Imperial family were rigorously taught the subject of sex education. When Sienna had gotten her first period, a man and a woman were called and they had sexual intercourse right in front of her as a demonstration.

She thought they looked like a pair of animals at the time. She was displeased to learn that she would have to perform this act with a man as well. But now she understood. She hadn't lived in abstinence for moral reasons. It was only because she hadn't met a man she liked yet.

Sienna chuckled pompously.

"Looks like you don't have enough manly vigor."

Kuhn's eyes widened before narrowing as he let out a burst of laughter. Sienna flinched as his gaze changed. She imagined that his eyes were similar to that of a predator before it leaped on its prey.

His hand moved from her wrist to the back of her neck. His lips suddenly covered hers. As her breath was taken away, Sienna closed her eyes. Kuhn sucked on her lower lip before taking it between his and biting it.

His tongue entered her parted lips. He tasted her mouth before rubbing her tongue with his.

Sienna didn't hate his explicit touch or this unfamiliar feeling. She didn't feel that this was dirty, and neither did she hate the way his hand was touching her body.

Her small tongue slowly responded. She had coldly been avoiding him but was now cautiously approaching him. Kuhn was getting impatient as he wanted to catch her tongue and pull it in. He sucked at her mouth as if he wanted to devour her whole and swallowed.

He felt her slender arms wrap around his neck, and something inside of him snapped. Her mouth was so sweet that he felt dizzy.

Her milky cheeks were softer than he thought. He didn't want to touch her with his rough hands. But he also wanted to take off all her clothes and touch every part of her body.

Swept away by his desire, he wanted her lips and her mouth. The tips of his fingers were tingling. His head was buzzing. Every instinct in his male body screamed at him to take her. His lower stomach tightened painfully. In his wildest fantasies, he would be parting her legs and firmly entering inside her.

'No!'

He quickly caught himself. Having barely recovered his senses, he realized that his arm was tightly wound around her waist. He also found that his other hand had traveled up her body and was currently grabbing her breast. This was the first time he had been unable to control his urges.

Even now, he was hesitating. His whole body was on edge. He couldn't calm his excitement and was throbbing. He could feel the pressure of his arousal pressing up against his pants. He wanted to surrender to this wave of desire. When he saw her swollen lips, he felt as if he'd go crazy.

Kuhn bit the inside of his mouth until it bled. Tasting the rusty flavor of blood, his insides barely calmed.

Her arms around his neck loosened. He straightened her disheveled dress. Seeing that her wig was half-off, he fixed that too. Not moving too fast or too slow, his hands moved calmly.

The sizzling atmosphere around them quickly cooled. Sienna's chest rose up and down with her breaths as she calmed down as well. Rage slowly filled her golden eyes as she glared at Kuhn.

His calm, cool, and collected face pricked her pride. She felt as if she was the only one that had gotten worked up. It felt insulting. Her fingers went cold in humiliation. She felt like killing him.

"I'm sorry."

His apology finally made Sienna's barely-suppressed anger explode. With all her might, she slapped him across his face. His face whipped around as he took a proper blow.

Sienna clenched her stinging hand as she fiercely shouted.

"You cowardly bastard. If I ever see you again, I will never let you off unscathed."

Kuhn watched blankly as Sienna coldly turned her back and walked away. Time seemed to slow down as she began to throw back the curtains.

Kuhn was very troubled. It wasn't too late. He still had time to grab her arm and turn her around. A sweet voice whispered inside his head.

'Just follow your impulses. When you don't know what to do, sometimes just messing around can get you an answer.'

Kuhn was lucky that he still had some of his self-control left. Or maybe it was a misfortune. Regret made his fingers twitch, but otherwise, Kuhn stood completely still.

His last chance was gone. She left the balcony. Kuhn unintentionally let out a groan.

Kuhn stood by himself for a long time. He couldn't move until the pressure inside his pants had calmed down.

He covered his face with both of his hands before letting out a deep sigh. He was regretting it all. He had touched the forbidden fruit. If he hadn't ever tasted it, he would have been able to live with it. But now that he had tasted that sweetness...

Crazy bastard. What have you done?

He didn't think she was serious. He understood her personality very well. As a member of the Imperial family, she wasn't one to ever forget his position. She probably only thought of this as playing with fire at a masquerade. If he didn't win over his desires, he would have gladly played with fire as well.

However, this was the right thing to do. He was right to stop it here. He could still give up.

Kuhn blankly stared at his broken mask on the floor. The princess had trampled on it as she left, and the porcelain mask was now in pieces.

He laughed bitterly and mumbled.

"...How generous of her. I got off with just a slap to the face."
