"I have no idea why have we been summoned but I don't wish to go," Sam told Wei, petulantly .

Grandma Li had called up early on this Sunday morning and told Sam that she needed to come to the Li mansion along with Wei . They had something important to announce .

"Well, I don't think you can ignore a direct command from your grandmother . And I will be there right by your side, so why are you worried?" he assured her .

Though they had been married for more than eight months now, Wei was yet to confess his love to her . But Samantha didn't mind it at all because she could see it in his actions . The care which he showed towards her, whether it was when it came to her family, or even when they had faced disapproval from his mother regarding this wedding . He had told his mother to stay out of his business else she would find herself bereft of her son .

"Either you respect my choice or choose to walk away from my life," that had been his ultimatum .

Samantha had ensured that they share a bed from the wedding night itself . She had nonchalantly given him the logic that since they had already done it and enjoyed it, why should they abstain from it now? After all, they were legally married, no matter the reason!

Since then, she had found herself in his arms every night and morning . If this wasn't love, what was . And he was battle ready again today, to go fight her demons .

"Ok, we shall go . Let me go get ready," with that she got up from the breakfast table .

Li Mansion

"You look healthy and radiant . It seems that your husband is taking good care of you," Grandma Li remarked .

Gone was the haunted look and the gaunt cheeks which Sam had brought with her from London last year .

"You mean to say that I have put on weight," Sam said ruefully .

"No, she is giving me a compliment . You need to accept it on my behalf," Wei said smilingly from behind her .

Yimei came to greet them with her cherub baby . She looked a little fatigued . Maybe it was the demands of the infant, Sam thought to herself .

Taking him from her sister's arms, Sam immediately went to sit down by the window and play with him . She loved the way he gurgled and responded to her touch .

"I think she is ready to start a family . Look, how happy she is," Yimei told Wei softly as they both turned to look at the aunt and nephew .

Wei's lips curved involuntarily as he imagined a dark haired, pixie featured little girl, just like Sam .

"I can see that you are not adverse to the idea . You should go make some babies tonight," Grandma Li cackled standing next to them, causing Wei to blush .

Right then, Li Yichen came into the hall and cleared his throat . His wife had come to stand next to him and had an identical sombre expression on her face .

"I have gathered everyone here to apprise you of the happenings of the past few days . To tell you the abridged version, I happened to travel to Beijing for business sometime back . I found Zhu Cheng there with another woman . That woman was not someone whom he was having an affair with or sleeping around . She was his fiancée and heiress to a rich family settled in America . He had brought her to Beijing to look at a couple of business investments which he wanted her parents to finance . His plan was to settle in America post the wedding and continue working in China . When I confronted him, he handed me the divorce papers which he wanted me to pass on to Yimei," though he had been uttering these words in a monotone, his voice shook with emotions on the last line .

Sam looked at her sister in shock who was standing there with a serene expression on her face .

Sam got up and handed the baby to the nanny and asked her to take him away from there .

Once the baby was out of the earshot, she whirled around and shouted, "how dare he??? And what is wrong with you? Don't tell me that you didn't even break his nose . You were never there for me but atleast for Yimei, you need to grow a spine . Actually, never mind, where is he? I will take care of this, once and for all . "

Mrs . Li came to Sam and forestalled her .

"We think it is a blessing in disguise that we got to know about this now . Who knows how much more damage would he have caused to us had we discovered it even later . Your father and I just wanted to tell you and Wei about it since you are family," she said .

Sam went and hugged Yimei fiercely and whispered in her ears, "I don't believe in forgetting and forgiving . "

Wei had been taking it all in quietly till now and finally spoke, "in this case, I agree with Sam . I think we shouldn't let him get away scot free . Just give us a couple of days to figure out which family's daughter has he entrapped this time . If nothing else, we may be able to save that girl's life from getting taken for a ride . As for you, Yimei, Sam and I both are here . We are sorry that we haven't been around much but henceforth, we intend to change that, isn't that right, Samantha?"

As always, her husband had figured out what she was feeling and needed to say . She nodded her head, sending a grateful smile towards him . After a quiet but a cosy dinner with the family, Sam and Wei headed towards home .

"Uh… Sam, Grandma Li has asked me for a favour," Wei started on a casual note .

Her thoughts still on that bastard, she asked, "let me guess, she wants us to find that ass**** and castrate him?"

Wei shook his head at his wife's bloodthirsty tendencies . He wondered if he should reconsider the next few lines but then smiled to himself and decided not to hesitate any longer .

"That thought could probably only come to your mind . Her request also involves physical commitment but is less dangerous than what you suggested," he said cryptically .

Sam looked at him in confusion .

"She has urged us to go ahead and take care of the Wang family lineage . The growth and prosperity of it lies in your hands, rather your…ehm… you know what I mean," he said suggestively .

Sam threw her head back and laughed . She couldn't believe that her husband had come up with such a lame excuse to inform her about his intentions for the night .

Nevertheless, she didn't want to hurt his fragile male ego and replied, "then we can't afford to disappoint Grandma Li, can we? I will do my best, you better brace yourself to be able to keep up…"
