In the chair next to him Malgrey became a bit silent, he did not Marvel in Taf's finding, Frankly, there was only fear.

The time has just flown by, hasn't it? I'll be on my way. My advice, be on your toes as this is all that can be done for now. A part of me actually wishes to be wrong."

After speaking, Taf took one last gulp of the liquor before making his way out of Kathy's home in a very nonchalant manner. 

At the table, Malgrey was left pondering his best possible course of action. Into the crowded streets of those who loved the nightlife of Starlight City, he saw Taf vanished.

Within a brightly lit room reserved for the visiting squads of the Dark Abylis Sect were too young ladies. One seemed slightly more mature with dark black hair while the other seemed somewhat young with some odd peculiarities.

" So quiet, come on what were you two discussing about me?" Taf then spoke as he stretched his arms.

" I was just telling Niesha how proud you are of the few strands of hair that lay beneath your chin. Highlighting the proud manner in which you walk around with such an added boost to your posture."

There was an added giggle from May as she saw Taf subconsciously rubbing his hand beneath his chin. 

" These are slight indications of my ascension into manhood." He shamelessly spouted then continued by saying,

"Interestingly I thought I was foiling Niesha's attempt at coaxing you. How dare she ask you such a thing as relieving the hold you have on my heart? Isn't that a bit shameful Niesha"

Hearing Taf's statement Niesha then interjected,

"I'm sorry I prefer my men totally ascended not on the cusp, Where a tweezer would be an inconvenience rather than the desired tool." She laughed

Taf chuckled as he entered seeing the two looking in his direction. Before changing his tone and once more uttering a few words.

" At this moment I think your role as vice squad captain is needed the most."

Soon Neisha left in a haste closing the door behind her. Seeing that she had left Taf sat next to May who had been puzzled at the wording Taf previously used. 

"  How far off are you from breaking into the 9th stage?" He then went on to ask.

" Given a few days, it would be but a cakewalk." May casually responded.

Taf then took a momentary pause before saying," Hmm, then if pushed it can be done tonight.

" What's the hurry?" From his questioning, there were certain hints decerning something had taken place.

"Some unexpected events have unfolded and we both need to be in peak condition. There is a lord realm cultivator within our midst."

" Lord realm! when did the circumstances change?" May then exclaimed before questioning.

Taf then disclosed all that took place at Kathy's home as May quietly listened. She had complete faith in his abilities and his judgment, therefore, taking all he stated as factual.

" May, I don't want you in harm's way so you falling back into a more supporting role might be best." Taf then came closer as he held her hands.

His words instead of appeasing May seemingly caused her to shout out defiantly as she pulled her hands from his grasp, " No! that will not do."

Seeing his words had ignited this unexpected reaction he then searched for anwers " Why Not? what's wrong with that?

If there is a need to fight we'll act similarly to our time in Braveman's Graveyard. Why change the formula when the recipe is perfect?"

" Don't you see what's happening Taf?" As May spoke she then once more took hold of Taf's hands before continuing...

"Remember how you teased me as a kid calling me a princess because you knew how much i hated it. Do you remember why I loathed those stories so much?"

While she spoke Taf was brought back to five years in the past as May continued.

" Because I always saw the princesses as hollow husk who always need to be saved from dragons and villains."

She then ended by say, "Taf I'm becoming your princess. Do you not see the pattern in play? I'm always under your protecting wings never in harm's way. I am the damsel in distress."

" I do understand where you're coming from however this is not your everyday foe, May. This is a Lord realm who killed his own lover.

Obviously taking a life is similar to picking weeds from a garden in his view. This would be life and death if things are seen to fruition."

Though he understood May's reasoning Taf thought it best to also give his as well.

 In reaction May then stood up taking a walk before looking out the window. Though it was dark the sky was filled with stars that twinkled as the moon was but a fraction of its size.

"Our pledge is hand in hand at the peak as we gaze in the stars and space." She uttered before once more continuing..

 "How is the peak achieved Taf? Isn't it through facing hardships with life and death situations? Yes, I might have gotten the phoenix blood, however, that can only help me slightly." 

Taf remained quiet as he heard May's words after a few moments letting out a big sigh,

" You're right. Subconsciously I admit I might have known this, however, my goal has always been to protect. Do you know the one thing i fear?"

Taf had a wry look on his face as he continued, "Throw me in a cage with tigers and lions soaked in blood on my last breath and  I might only laugh.  However, seeing your eyes becoming listless would be as though my soul is being ripped to pieces."

'I know but i do need you to have faith in me that I'll have your back, similar to I with you. I have faith in myself to meet this challenge head-on. Won't you also have that same faith in me? How about it?'

May once for sat beside Taf as she spoke with determination...

" Sigh and this you deserve but are you ready?" Taf seemingly started to cave into May's request.

With a smile May then responded, " I know i am."

" Then prove it." As Taf spoke he summoned 5 cores which seemingly were translucent with wild beast qi inside.

One of the cores was summoned by May into her awaiting grasp and within a matter of minutes, a crushing sound could be heard from her pawn. Soon another was in her grasp.

To the side, Taf watched as he saw the sheer overwhelming determination in May's eyes. He smiled before activating his space stone pulling himself and May within.
