Zach didn't even know whether to laugh or cry at Keira's expression after his grandmother's words.

He quickly went inside the room and smiled at his grandmother and said in a jest, "Grandma, stop that. You're scaring our guest."

Then, he added, "She's also a patient you know. I will leave for a while and take her back to her room because I'm sure she'll be scolded by the doctor if she's found out roaming around like this."

Zach did not wait for his grandmother's response and quickly pulled Keira outside the room.

"Grandma, don't worry, I'll be back," Keira said with a wink as she turned her head to Zach's grandmother.

"Let's go before she started to talk because that, for sure, will take forever. Trust me, you'll be stuck inside the room with her." Zach whispered in her ear. He was pulling her outside by her hand, gently, to not touch her dextrose.

'I don't mind staying as long as you're there,' Keira answered silently.

She pursed her lips and did not voice out her thoughts because she felt a bit nervous due to Zach's nearness. Her breathing seemed to be not in sync with him.

That was Zach's impact on her whenever he was near her. She had never felt anything like that to any other man. Even his simple touch was already sending jolts of electricity up her body.

It might sound exaggerated, but the beating of her heart was so loud at that moment, but she hoped that Zach couldn't hear it.

Finally, they arrived inside her room which was only meters away from Grandpa Shen's.

"Where the heck is that..." she murmured, looking for the step stool so she could at least not sit on the bed.

But to her surprise, Zach lifted her up to sit her on the bed, so she unconsciously wrapped her arms around his neck not to lose her balance.

Then their eyes met and as their gazes locked with each other.

Zach sighed and muttered, "Keira, about the kiss. I am not sorry at all that I did it. But, I still want to apologize because I feel like I took advantage of the situation. I took advantage of you, knowing that you like me. You are right. You have the right to believe that we are already in a relationship..."

Keira remained quiet as she stared at Zach but she suddenly felt nervous.

'Why do I feel like his sentence won't end well?' She mused.

Then Zach continued, "I may like you, but that doesn't mean we have to be in a relationship. It's because I still believe, it's too early for us to be in a relationship. You are too young and I'm not rea..."

"Stop! I said that you don't need to answer me now! So, stop! I did not hear you… I'm not in a hurry too, so don't..." Keira exclaimed and she deliberately put her palm on Zach's mouth to stop him from talking.

She felt like her tears were about to burst at any moment. There's a sharp knife tearing her heart apart at that moment and that really hurt. She knew and she understood what Zach was explaining but she did not want to hear it.

They were still in that awkward position when Xander suddenly entered the room humming and said, "Keira Chan, the Chan Princess, who have become the sly fox, a cunning fox, I've brought your favorite ice cre…"

Xander paused as his jaw dropped when he entered and saw Keira and Zach in that awkward scene: Keira's palm was covering Zach's mouth while Zach's arms were wrapped around Keira's waist.

'What the heck are you two doing?!' He wanted to shout out but the first thing Xander noticed was Keira's facial expression that was of a person who was about to burst into tears at any moment.

So his voice vibrated with anger as he asked, "What's going on here?"

Keira managed to smile as she pulled back her hand and said, "Oh, Dr. Yang is here. Go back to grandpa, General Lim. I'm sure grandma Terri is already waiting for you. Dr. Yang is already here to accompany me."

She tried to hide the stammering of her voice.

Zach had a conflicted expression but he let go of Keira's waist and turned around.

However, Zach did not move away and glared at Xander.

"What?" Xander hissed with an arched eyebrow and added, "Please, leave now, because my patient needs her rest and must not be stressed out."

Zach turned his head to Keira as if he was waiting for something.

Keira smiled at Zach and said, "Please leave, I need to rest. I'll see you tomorrow."

Zach left with a conflicted expression on his face.

As soon as Zach left the room, Keira burst into tears and Xander ran towards her to hug and comfort her.

"What happened?" He asked as he gently patted Keira's back.

"Nothing, it's just that he is turning me down," Keira said sobbing.

Xander tried hard to suppress his laughter but failed.

Keira hit his shoulder and exclaimed, "It's because he's still afraid!"

Then, she told Xander everything, about Zach's first love.

"The heck, he is bloody right. If I were him, I would have absolutely rejected you. You should be thankful he is a gentleman. I mean… the age gap is another factor too," said Xander as he massaged his chin.

"Why don't you wait till you turn on 21 at least, or 22 years old? I mean, you are still young so enjoy your youth first… the puppy love can follow next," Xander suggested.

Keira pursed her lips and said, "But it's not puppy love. I'm serious, I've already set my eyes on him. I want him. I already want to mark him as mine. I don't want to get bypassed by others!"

Xander burst out into a fit of laughter.

"But you can only mark him if you marry him!" He commented in a jest.

"You are right! Marriage is the answer!" Keira murmured as if she was in deep thought.

"What?!" Xander exclaimed as he stared at Keira unbelievably.

"You are really crazy!" Xander mumbled as he stared at Keira's expression: that was the face of Keira Chan when she definitely up to something hilarious.
