The Extra's Survival Chapter 78

Finishing his morning sparring routine with Roan, Lucas walked through the corridor heading towards the classroom.

"I dont understand, why am I feeling others are peeking at me?" Lucas spoke as he walked towards his classroom.

He could see some of the students standing in front of thier classroom were taking a glimpse of him and then turning thier head as if nothing had happened when Lucas looked at them.

Each time he passed through a student, they looked back at him staring him from toe to the head.

At first, he thought this was merely a coincidence and they may be looking at somebody else but as more and more people looked at him, rolling the corners of their eyes, he started to feel uneasy.

Opening the door of the classroom as soon as Lucas took a step into the room, he instantly felt countless stares directed at him.

If not for getting the stares from the morning, he would have looked back to see if someone of high hierarchy is standing behind his back.

Lucas looked at the expression of the students who were looking at him, he could feel thier mixed feelings of shock, surprise, hatred, jealousy and some even looked at him with disdain.

'What did I do to receive such reaction? The ones present here were looking at me like I was some sort of animal escaped from the zoo.'Lucas thought as he hadn't done anything recently to catch this much attention.

If he was paper, he was sure thier gaze could make a hole or burn the whole paper.

Ignoring the stares, Lucas indifferently made his way towards his seat trying to remain calm and not showing the inward uneasiness that he was feeling.

One of the aspects he learnt from the Princess about the nobles was that it was all about maintaining faces or facades.No matter what situation one may encounter, one must not let his outside expression reflect his inner thoughts no matter how troublesome the situation becomes.

Walking toward the seat, he could hear faint whispers of the students talking about him.

"Is he the one?"

"Isn't he just a sub-par?"

"How did he get so lucky? A commoner like him got the chance to stay with Princess. How is that is possible?"

" He must have used some black magic to gain her attention."

Among the student's whispers, a rough loud sound of someone was heard as he spoke"Why are you wasting time discussing somebody. Isn't it clear? He is just a dog. The Princess must have taken pity on homeless dogs who might have been good at bootlicking others and is perfect for working as a slave."

The students that were murmuring about Lucas stopped as they heard the loud voice.

Sitting in his seat, Lucas rested his cheek on his palm and closed his eyes which made the students think that he was trying to ignore them.

Only Lucas knew that although he looked calm from the inside, a huge storm was blowing in his heart.

He finally figured out what the matter was all about. It was about him taking the job of princess butler.

"Hush." Lucas took a deep breath. He knew it was going to know to everyone sooner or later.

Lucas knew that other reactions would be quite intense after all getting a chance to stay with Princess is like winning a lottery worth billions where the odds of winning it was very close to none.

Lucas knew that once this matter spread outside, he would be the public enemy of all the men in the kingdom.

Some may even distribute a wanted poster of him.

Still, that doesn't give anyone the right to mock him.

It's okay to verbally abuse him but call him a dog, isn't it too much?

Lucas calming down himself, opened his eyes to took note of the ones who were whispering about him. His gaze landed on the boy who called him a dog.

The boy who called him the dog was Darnell. As far as Lucas could remember, he belong to some baron lineage.

'Why did he look so much irritated as if I have stolen his love.'Lucas cursed him inwardly.

Lucas taking a good look at him took out a small pocket diary from his pocket.

After clashing with Brock, Lucas decided to write the names of the people who have a grudge against him or could be his potential enemy in the future and take good note of their information.

The first fortunate person who got the chance of getting his name written on the list was none other than Brock.

Lucas smirked as he thought about Brock's recent situation, Lucas using a voice modulator changed his voice to Brock's voice in the conversation where Roman was cursed, adding a few more curses and abuses in Brock's voice and Brandon, he passed the recording to Roman.

To open that file one had to transfer the amount of money to the sender and then the file will be unlocked and after hearing the audio for one time, the file would be deleted.

Lucas also added a note to make sure Roman opened the file and the day before yesterday, he received the amount which meant that Roman had opened the file and the cold war between Roman and Brandon had already started with Brock being a scapegoat as Roman first directly aimed at Brock's family assets.

As they were going over each other's throats, Lucas just looked from the sideline enjoying the show.

Yesterday there was a brawl between Roman and Brandon where Brock was thrashed very badly. Lucas chuckled remembering the scene where Brock was beaten and his face was swollen like a pig.

Now at the present moment taking out his dairy, he put Darnell's name on the list of potential enemies in the dairy.

Lucas decided not to do anything now as Darnell had just verbally abused so his counterattack should be verbal without any physical abuse.

"Darnell just prays to God that you dont meet me in the inter academy battle otherwise I will make sure you stay in bed for months?" Lucas mumbled closing his dairy putting back into his pocket.

Lucas looked around as he waited for the class to start and noticed Parth was looking at him with a mocking smile making Lucas's expression grim.

Seeing Parth's face, Lucas thought 'Should I put this bastard's name in the list?'

With Miss Ami's entry, the whispers of the students stopped.

As she entered everyone could notice that her mood was off for some reason.

Crossing her arms, Ami looked at all the students and sighed.

She thought it was too fast for these students to engage in real battle. After going through a bloody fight during the exam, she doesn't want her students to take risks unnecessarily as most of them haven't even gotten out of that nightmare still she had to comply with her superior.

"I have an important announcement. As you know in a few months, at most 2 or most 3, you will be having an inter academy battle. So before that, we higher-ups all concluded that you all seriously lack in real battle."

"So two weeks from now, you are going to enter real dungeons. Due to many recent events, the hero association and hunter department are quite busy so we thought as the citizens of the nation we should extend a helping hand to them." Miss Ami's voice was followed by shouting and chatting among the students who couldn't understand what was going on.

"Quiet." Miss Ami's yelled which had been further amplified by her mana shut up everyone's mouth.

Lucas thought, his eardrum would burst if this keeps going on.

"Just stay quiet and listen. All of you are going to the low-rank dungeon that is G rank. And many instructors would also be there so there is no need to worry. They will be keeping an eye on you from the distance, they will keep you safe if you are in deep trouble."

"So start mentally preparing for it from now. Each class would be given a specific location to which they would clear up. Every one of you will get a certain amount of potions and weapons according to your ranks and capability. Each class will also have a healer to accompany them."

Everybody was shocked on hearing a healer will be accompanying them, if diamond grade bloodlines are considered rare then having the power of healing was even rarer.

While everyone was excited, Lucas's eyes glowed with excitation on hearing the term healer and wished if somehow he could manage to get a healer on his side in future.

Miss Ami finished his speech and hold the tablet to start the attendance and spoke casually"Just because you are getting freebies, don't just go on wasting things. Potions are very costly. Don't gulp the healing potions when you just have a minor injury."

"If anyone would abuse the potion and take it unnecessarily, I will make sure to fork out the money of the potions from your pockets."

Miss Ami's words sent chilled the spine of the students. After all, 70% of the student hasn't seen or held a potion till now. So they were already curious how effective the potions were.

"Can I grow back my limb if I lose one with the potions?"

"Limbs.Haha.You can be given grow back your head if someone cut it."

The surrounding students went into laughter hearing thier talks.

Lucas at the side chuckled listening to thier conversation when someone condemned them by saying "Why don't you say, you can bring the dead back to life with the use of potions."

Unlike other events, Lucas was not so much worried about the trip as there would not be any mischance happening here. They will just go, hunt the monster, clear the dungeon and return. In the novel, except for a few skirmishes between the students nothing major happened here.

But he can't let his guard down after all there is no guarantee that the events will unfold just as described in the novel.

Little did he know that his so-called worries were going to be true.
