Lucas was in deep thoughts contemplating the Princess's offer.

Seeing Lucas engaged in his thoughts, Julian spoke"You don't have to work as my butler for your whole life. Just work until I can fully trust you, you just have to stay under my eyes. After that, you can do as your wish."

"Now what are your thoughts on this, Mister Lucas?" She gazed at Lucas looking for an answer.

Lucas wanted to ask for some time to weigh down both the pros and cons, but he knew since she had raised this matter, there is no way she will let him leave without agreeing to her. So it's better to agree with her now rather than try to act tough.

Sighing deeply, Lucas spoke, "I agree."

"What do I have to do particularly?. I dont know the etiquette and the work of the higher society." Lucas asked Julian and waited for her reply.

"You will know about it later on. Since we have already talked about everything let's end the meeting today."Julian said.

Standing up from his seat Lucas bowed his head and spoke"Thank you, Your Highness, for wasting your precious time on me. I will take my leave now. Have a nice day."

There was no enthusiasm, no joy nor any sadness in Lucas's voice. His voice was neutral and was able to mask his inner thoughts properly.

After greeting Julian for the last time, Lucas started walking towards the exit. Julian waved her hand to one of the ladies to escort Lucas outside.

Seeing Lucas back disappearing a shadow flashed and a lady appeared near Julian giving her a slight bow.

The person was none other than Ami. She had been here before the arrival of Lucas.

Miss Ami looked at Julian and was about to call her Miss but changed her tone seeing Julian staring at her.

Cough...Cough

Clearing her throat, she spoke"Julian, what do you think of Lucas?"

She wanted to know what impression Julian had of Lucas. When The Princess started to pry into Lucas's information it was on Ami's insistence that Lucas was able to stay out of trouble till now as most of his tracks had been covered by the Princess.

She wished for Lucas to leave a good impression on her. Maybe she pities Lucas for having excellent talent but his potential is limited by luck or wanted to take care of him as a teacher. Whatever may be the reason, she wished for Lucas to stay under the shade of Princess and lead a good life but what she heard next shocked her to the core.

"Unfathomable."

"For now I can only say despite his background and low bloodline this person will be unfathomable in future unless he messes something, he shouldn't have and die before he can start to climb," Julian spoke as her eyes looked at the sky pondering something.

Tilting her Ami asked, "Julian, how can you say that when you just met him once?"

Crossing her arms, Julian's lips curved upwards giving a sweet smile and spoke"From my childhood I had met countless people. You also know why I dislike other men and try to stay away from them."

Ami shook her head in sorrow hearing her. How could she not know about this? After all, she had been with her from her childhood days and had taken care of her like a sister.

Princess had many friends when she was a child, most notable was the son of the captain of the first knight order.

When she was awakened in her early years, her body started to mature way faster than others. At the age of 13, she already had a well proportioned stunning body that can ignite the desires of any man.

The son of the captain who she had deep trust looked at her with eyes filled with lust and tried to force her to marry him but he failed and was heavily punished.

After that everywhere she went, many looked at her with eyes filled with lust. Even the well behaved nobles tried to form connections with her. Though they were able to mask thier inner thoughts, their inner thoughts were given away by the look of thier eyes.

Though not many were like that still most of the men carved for her. As she matured, she started to hate the man for the way they looked at her.

The memories that Julian buried deep inside the heart were always a sore spot as she had to deal with bootlicking people like this even if she didn't wanted to meet these type of people.

"Julian, please forgive Lucas if he had shown you any improper behaviour after all this may be the first time he had seen such a goddess-like beauty like you." Ami sincerely pleaded for Lucas.

Julian raised her brow for a second and giggled seeing Ami earnest pleading.

Waving her hand she spoke"Dont worry, Lucas hadn't shown me any discourtesy. But still, he somewhat had amazed me."

Rubbing her chin she spoke"When he saw me for the first time instead of craving, he had sincere admiration for me. I am not sure if he admired my beauty or other aspects but as our talk prolonged his admiring eyes changed to neutral at the end and he looked at me as just a simple person. For the first time in my time except for my father and my knights someone was able to remain indifferent to my beauty."

Although Ami was quite happy on hearing Julian's praise about Lucas still she was confused at her evaluation.

"You are still thinking why I said he will be unfathomable in the future, "Julian spoke.

Julian chucked and spoke to clear Ami's doubt"Cause he got terrifying adaptability, his ability to adapt the situation is praiseworthy. Even if he dont have talent in another aspect with his ability, one day he will surely become a foe to contend with."

"Now the only thing I need to know is how trustworthy he is?. Will he be blessing or poison only time will tell?" Julian stood up from her seat and retreated leaving Miss Ami wondering.

'I hope your future may be promising.'Ami whispered in a soft voice.

After returning to his room, Lucas finally breathed an air of relief.

Wiping out the sweats for his forehead, he tried to calm himself.

He has to use all his willpower so that he wouldn't get enticed by her looks.

From the moment, he talked with her, she was testing her by giving him that bewitching smile.

The moment Lucas looked at her with a lustful gaze that would be the end of him, after all, how can she bear to keep a man with her who would have improper thoughts about her.

If Lucas didn't know her character, he would have surely fallen into her trap.

After all, in no way, she will smile at a random stranger.

Today's event was quite surprising. The way it proceeded had shaken him to his core. He never expected in the wildest dream that instead of walking on a tight rope, he would be offered such a choice.

Honestly, he didn't want to be her butler. If someone except him would be offered this chance he would pour out a river of flattery in her praise for taking him under her but Lucas was not one of those people who like bootlicking.

Still, he has to accept.

''I thought she will try to get rid of me or warn me but offering me to come under her wing was quite a surprise.''Lucas tried to think about it carefully.

He went over the details, in case he had missed something.

Thinking about all the events and all the people he had met, he was finally able to get the missing link of the puzzle that he overlooked.

The reason he was given a chance instead of condemning must be because of Miss Ami.

After all, Miss Ami is going to be her maid.

On the horizon, Miss Ami enrolled as a teacher on the hero association recommendation to look after the princess still they don't have much interaction until the princess graduates from the academy after which she will leave her job as a teacher here and become Princess's head maid.

"She must have asked her to take me under her. It must be Miss Ami who send her to help me during the villain society invasion." Lucas muttered.

And that was the other reason for accepting her offer. As she has saved his life at the most critical moment when he was at his weakest, he can only repay her by working under her and helping her in her time of need.

Pondering for a moment, Lucas took out a parchment from his pocket.

If his life would in trouble, this parchment was the. the only thing that could save her. On it was the information about the magic circuit.

He has already started working on the circuit with Roan. Roan seemed to have excellent foresight in terms of magic and is quite efficient in drawing circuits.

'Talking about Roan, I fount that Roan ability to memorize id rather unusually.'I muttered.

His ability to memorize is quite close to an eidetic memory. It must have to do something with his bloodline ability. He can memorize a whole book in a day.

Lucas remembers most of the protagonists have been blessed with an eidetic memory.. Luckily, Fredrick is not one of those otherwise the wide gap between him and Lucas would have already been widened by a large margin.
