Roan was a typical nerd or you can call him a neet. A tiny ripple is enough to shake him in fear.

Resting his cheek on his hand Lucas gave a deep thought about it.

After reflecting on all my previous fights, I decided to increase my magic power.

Increasing my mana capacity can help me to use telekinesis much better and my skills consisting of spells or when I learn some spell in future will be much stronger.

" Fredrick I am closing up on you. Still only good know if I can overcome you."I said to myself.

I have gained a lot of experience but it was nowhere near upgrading my bloodline. My talk with Miss Ami had made me realise I have to take it slow and digest my gains first before speeding up again so I brought potions from my experience and sold it.

I don't know how will my parents react when they know their child has this much money.

It is more than enough for commoners to live their whole life without working their asses off.

They surely gonna think that I have donated my organ or have got my hands on shady business. I chuckled thinking about them.

I even thought I will be deaf if this goes on.

" This year will be different. As you know every mid-year we host an academy battle competition in which each year fought for the top position which can also decide their ranking."

"It can directly raise your rank a lot. "

There is a change in this year is due grand event that will be taking place at the end of the year.

I have got a year for it to begin.

Now the only thing I have to worry about is the written exam.

The combat exam was easy for me to pass but written I don't know if I will be able to pass.

"Oh God please help this poor and helpless person".I prayed to join my hands looking up.

I went to the cafeteria along with Roan. The boy who bullied Roan looked for him again to bully him but I had asked Parth to put that boy in his place.

One day ,I told Roan to purposefully meet the bully at the other side of the park where I asked Parth and Fredrick to pass through.

Noticing someone bullied in front of him Frederick unable to stay still and warned the boy that if he was found bullying anyone again he would surely repent being born in this world.

A warning straight from Frederick's mouth who belonged to the duke's house was enough to deter this boy to change his behaviour.

We quietly took our lunch discussing random things.

" Roan how good are you in studies."I asked.

Roan raising his specks said with pride"I may not be good in case of combat and but in studies, I can confidently call myself a genius".

"How do you think I manage to get a seat here."

" My marks in written was high enough to make up for my lack of scores in practical."

My lips twitched seeing Roan giving a smug smile.

I seriously thought he entered through the back door.

"Hmm. How about asking him for help. I think I can rely on him for a few days. I can think I can get a passing grade with his help".

" Roan why don't you help in studies and I will help in training."

Roan glared at me on listening to the word training.

He sure hates training and hard work.

"Listen I know you hate to train and all that but you have two choices in life."

" Train with me and become strong so that you don't have to fear anyone".

"Second keep living like this waiting for someone to ramble at you."Roan was surprised at my words and seeing my serious face he knows he can't change the topic.

" What did you think I helped you, so now you will have no trouble in your whole life."

"This is a dog shit world, where the one with strong fist has the right to speak. Weak like us are nothing but fodder for them."

" Do you want to live your life bowing down or raise your head facing the world with all your might"?

"The choice is yours but if you choose second we have to stop being friends cause there will be more trouble for you in the future if you stay with me because I have chosen the first option".

"So I have to meet many dangers at my end."

Our conversation has gone in the wrong direction still I want to make it clear from the start about the path I want to take as I don't want him to regret being my friend later.

Roan can be said a genius in calculating scenarios though he has a nerdy look, he is talented in this aspect.

I genuinely wanted him under my wing but let's see what he chose.

Saying everything I have to say I got up and left the cafeteria.

10 P.M after my training to my heart content, I was sitting on the bench all alone.

In the empty park, I stared up at the night sky filled with glittering stars shining brightly releasing the bitterness in my heart.

I reflected on what happened with all the things I have gone through since the time I came to this world.

Aside from Frederick and Parth, Roan can be said to be the first friend that I have made after coming to this world though we didn't fight still what we discussed was pretty serious.

I don't want to push him to edge but still knowing the future event where the war of flames will reach here, as long as you are awakened you have to take part in the war.

Just why a warrior trains hard. For glory, for wealth.

No these are all secondary things the real reason to become strong is to protect your loved ones shielding them from any danger.

Seriously sometimes, I wanted to stop trying hard and go back to my previous life. I wanted to see my parents laugh with them, cry in my mother's embrace. All the emotions I have buried deep with my heart started to emerge slowly but I can't no matter how I try.

At this point I had nothing. The memories I built up, the relationship, the feeling none of them was here.

It feels like I have to build everything from the scratch. Still, I will not back down from the challenges that I have to face. Overcoming them will just make me stronger.

If Roan came under my wing with this I can have at least one person on my side without counting Fredrick and Parth.
