The Extra's Survival Chapter 22

The excitement of victory got better of me. I was too caught up in the moment that I forget about others.

"Yeah, that's how you do it".I shouted to show my dominance. The stress that I have accumulated till now was somehow released with this victory.

I would have given a victory speech and start dancing, if not for Aaron putting his hands on my shoulders and snapping me out from my delusional dream.

Turning around ,I found that the other troll has been taken care of quite some time ago and everyone was spectating my battle as an audience. Seeing me in a new light they were stunned up to the point, thinking that I was possessed by someone.

Even Aaron was shocked to speak anything.

Feeling embarrassed for the way I behaved ,my face was red in shame. If I was in the academy I would have closed myself in my room.

I was just too caught up in the moment.

Still, it's not my fault I am just 16. I have hot blood running in my veins. The victory somehow made me arrogant.

"You fought quite well. Meticulous planning using your every card decisively. It was quite good. But don't go bragging around about it."

" Yes"

I lowered my head in shame.

Honestly, who doesn't like to brag and boast about his achievement. No matter how humble or composed you are there will be certain situations in life whether you knowingly or unknowingly boast about yourself.

One day I will openly brag about my achievements. Just you wait.

Putting the corpse in the storage ring. In skies, you can store your kill in your ring till the end. I brought a low-end storage ring of 1900R before the raid.

I have two corpses which can cost up to 30,000R. But it will not belong to me as a whole and it will be distributed. Reynolds will handle the after-sales.

It was past the afternoon. Being my first time here I don't know when we will camp or we are going to hunt the entire night.

"We have a hoard of monsters coming".Before us, dozens of monsters were coming in the horde from a distance. They seemed like monkeys with thick hands and huge fangs. Their tails have ball-like objects at the end. I felt a headache seeing them. The strongest among them was E star where some were in G and F ranks also.

Fortunately, there were no C and above.

But what confused me was that these monkeys were running instead of jumping from tree to tree.

" What a weird world".

" Get in position ".Everyone took their stance. I gripped my sword tightly.

" Time to rock and roll"roaring Aaron took on the first brunt of attacks with Morgana at support.

Some of them passed Aaron and thought Morgana was an easy opponent in close combat.

Within a second her image blurred,.Morgana beheaded two while throwing a dagger in one of the heads of monkeys.

She was quite fearsome as I have read about her. Esper and Agnus had already engaged.

I looked around for minor F ranked. Searching for my target I used fireball to fend off and using flash steps I took out two without giving chance.

A monkey sneaked on me using the tail. I was able to draw my sword in time still it hit me hard at my belly though I blocked the hit the attack forced me to fall on the back. It was about to be attacked me, my mind went blank for a second but Morgana killed it using a rock that pierced its chest.

Esper being a tanker stood in front of me killing the few. I drew a deep breath thanking God for the luck. I knew if the attack connected I would have been gravely injured or injured.

"Are you fine?".Esper turned around and asked.

" Yes".

"Do you want to fight or stay behind"?

The fight with a strong monkey has already made me afraid. Grinding my teeth I answer I wanted to fight.

I have to overcome my fear. If today I will hide in fear then there is no way in future I would be able to take on the behemoth troubles that are about to come.

I glanced across others fight. Aaron was just swinging his axe as if he was playing golf. Morgana was fighting close combat and looking at others in case of help.

She has quite a strong battle awareness. The earlier spell was from her. "I should thank her after the battle".

Esper was near me defending with his shield and crushing the head with the temple.

Agnus was doing the same defending and killing with his sword.

Taking a long breath I formed a fireball in one hand and sword in the other I decided to fight at a distance till my cooldown for flash step is not over.

"I am not alone, though we are not close they will surely protect me in case of trouble".

Bracing myself I threw the fireball.

Boom

A blast was heard across the ground. The lower-ranked of them were heavily injured. The blast pulled quiet attention. Without caring for them I jumped stabbing my sword at one of them.

Clang... Clang.

Monkey was closing on me swinging theirs. Every time my sword hit their tail, having ball sounds of metal clashing reverberated back.

"Just what is their tail made of"I was losing my patience but still I dragged on waiting for a chance to use flash step.

Huff... Huff... Huff

After an hour of struggle, I was out of my breath. I was supporting myself with the sword to stand up.

I wanted to lie down but the ground was full of corpses with blood flowing like a river.

Except everyone seems to be fine. I overexerted myself because of my experience. I now have 97,567 experience. I was able to kill six ranks which gave me about 10,000 to 15,000 experience. Previously I have killed two E ranks but the exp I got was near around F rank.

"It must because I have not fought it one on one and just gave finishing blow".

Killing F rank took a toll on my stamina and mana. If not for my sword I would have passed out as I was too exhausted to stand on my feet.

My clothes were now drenched in the purple blood from these monkeys and trolls. For the past hours, I have been fighting these low ranked monkeys unable to get the upper hand in pure sword moves. If I haven't purchased spell skills and flash steps I never knew if I would be able to defeat them.

I thought dealing with two to three would not be a problem after I got experience from fighting the troll but I have overestimated myself.

The fight with the troll was one vs one PVP match but with many around, one has to maintain their vigilance across the field for possible sneak attacks.

I was able to survive all thanks to my teammate, they interfered every time I was in danger and cancelled all kinds of sneak attacks.. They also made sure the monster I fought were all around the same level as me.
