When he reached 12, his father started to teach him swordsmanship but he had no talent in swordsmanship nor did he have the stamina to practice for a prolonged period to improve.

Just a few swings were enough to tire him out.

His life was pathetic still he felt quite satisfied living under his parent's shade of love until...

His usual routine was waking up in the morning, training with his father, enjoying some time with his family and studying at night.

More than anything, he wanted to visit the capital and see the famous Magic Castle floating in the sky over the capital showing its majesty.

He would always rant to his parents, to guide him and show him how to awaken mana.

During, his childhood he had heard from his others and read many articles about bloodlines.

Even the low-grade bronze bloodline is enough to change fate. The City of Aegis where he lives doesn't have many awakened ones.

Except for the City Lord and a dozen guards, there are rarely any awakened here.

His father and mother were mercenaries who moved from one city to another for jobs but finally settled down in Aegis after giving birth to him.

He always asked them about what was his bloodline grade and can he awakened mana but the only response he got to the question was you will know when the time comes.

After living his life for 16 years finally, a miracle happened. He woke in the morning like usual and as he opened the door, he crushed the doorknob accidentally.

He panicked about what happened but his father calmed him down and spoke to him that he had awakened his mana and was now in 1-Star.

"What!" Lucas screamed in joy and started to cry out of happiness. His complexion had become better and he looked more alive than before.

He thought this was going to be the best day of his life but how can he know that this day will mark the beginning of a nightmare.

While Lucas rejoiced he had awakened and reached 1-Star and was training himself, his father came up with a letter that had the enrollment of Horizon.

Though, he felt weird about receiving the enrollment letter when he hadn't even been given any test.

As much as he knew, only the best of the best were able to enrol there and one has to pass many tests to get admitted to Horizon but he was admitted without any difficulty

He asked his father about this and he just replied nonchalantly that was just rumours and said to pack up and get ready to leave the capital.

Lucas was happy to visit the capital. He felt as if the cage that was trapping him was suddenly opened and he is allowed to fly.

But it was a pity, that his father didn't accompany him. He had to go alone to the capital still it didn't deter him not it curbed his excitement.

He clearly remembered the sorrowful expression, his parents made as if he was going to a battlefield to fight and his chances of coming are very slim.

Lucas packed up and enrolled in the capital. At first, he was very excited and thought that he will make many friends and learn to become stronger.

He was proud of having a bronze bloodline and being admitted to Horizon and though his ranks were somewhere around 2600, he was still satisfied with it as out of the millions of children, only a few were able to enrol here.

But he will come to know sooner that he was just a frog in the bottom of the well, a country bumpkin who doesn't know the way of the world.

But little did he know, he was just a small mouse who had been placed in between predators.

A mouse among the sea of wolves and lions.

Even after two 2 months when many had broken through a minor realm, he wasn't able to break through even after so much training.

Rather he was becoming skinny and weak in the class, and he was even bullied.

One day, while he was sitting on an empty bench and lamenting that his life at home was good and wished that he had a single friend here, a student who walked by him offered a hand and asked him to become his friend.

Lucas agreed happily and started to spend his time with him until one day he was invited to his young master's house and said he wanted to be friends with him.

Lucas excitedly agreed and entered the room, he saw Oskolov who belongs to the Marquise house sitting there and gave Lucas a smirk.

Lucas frowned as he saw a group of students lying on the floor and their bodies were covered with blood and bruises.

And from that day, his life of hell as a punching bag and disgrace began.

"Ahhhhhhhh" Lucas groaned and opened his eyes in panic and got up from his bed, panting heavily.

The bedsheet was drenched in his sweat and he looked as if he just come out after taking a bath.

His entire body was soaked in sweat.

Breathing heavily, Lucas spoke, "What was that?"

"What was that!" Lucas screamed in anger and punched the wall in anger.

He felt something inside him was breaking and he was losing his sanity.

The scene of getting beaten until he was on the verge of dying flashed in his mind.

"Aahhhhh.....Pathetic" Lucas yelled and slammed the desk in anger.

BANG!

The desk shattered and one of its limbs broke but still, his anger didn't subside.

Lucas got up and walked to and fro, biting his teeth.

The nightmare had shaken his mental stability, he was feeling an uncontrollable urge to kill the persons who made his life miserable.

But more than just a mere thought of that name made his body tremble.

After walking to and fro for some time, Lucas finally calmed down a little and sat on the bed, trying to analyse.

First of all, he was sure this wasn't just a dream or nightmare, as, like the bombing incident, this must be also what his future self must have gone through but still he found it hard to believe that his future self was this much pathetic.

No, pathetic is not the correct word, his future self was like a worm whom any can step on it.

"Moreover what the hell! His future self behaved more like a kid who doesn't know the ways of the world, like a simp."

"Haaaaa..." Lucas exhaled deeply.

Fredrick was fighting with his opponent. Though he could finish it in a moment, he decided to take it slow and win purely relying on his martial skills.

Fredrick spun his spear to deflect the incoming earth bullets and founding an opening, thrust his spear towards his opponent, his figure blurred and appeared before his opponent.

With a loud bursting sound, his spear tore the air and a powerful pressure concentrated in a straight line moved towards the opponent creating mini sonic explosions which blew away his opponent from the stage.

Fredrick finishing the match walked towards the spectator's stand where his group stood.

Seeing Rose finishing her match, he talked with her for some time and watched another match.

"Wait! Where is Lucas?" Fredrick asked

"Hmmm.Now that you asked where is he? His match is coming in a few minutes" Charles answered.

Parth and Roan entered the stands and as they were asked about Lucas, Roan answered that he was in his room and seems to be busy with something.

"Seems, like he is preparing himself for the opponent," Fredrick spoke rubbing his chin.

"But isn't it weird, knowing Lucas he didn't need much preparation," Parth asked.

As they discussed, it was time for Lucas's match and his opponent Osklov stood on the stage and waved his hand gathering everyone's attention.

"That annoying bastard showing off again." Parth spoke and further added"Where the hell is Lucas, he will be disqualified if didn't reach five minutes of the match after the appointed time then Oskolov would win."

Fredrick became tensed for unknown reasons.

'Don't tell me this Oskolov, played underhanded tricks.'Fredrick thought after all this was quite common. After all, the King of underhanded tricks stood beside him, Fredrick thought rolling his eyes at Charles.

Julian while sipping coffee frowned, as she saw only 30 seconds left and if Lucas didn't arrive in 30 seconds he will be declared forfeited.

The crowd looked at Osklov's arena and thought, that his opponent ran away in fear after Osklov is one of the most talented individuals to look for while his opponent is just a commoner.

While booing and cheers were heard, a boy finally stepped out from the gate silencing the entire crowd.

He walked slowly and steadily, his body was bent and he looked as if he is tired and is dragging his body.

Julian blinked a couple of times and looked at Ami to see a shocked expression on her face and asked"Ami is that.."

"Yes, Princess."

"I don't know what happened but his mental state seems to be quite unstable. I can feel a murderous aura leaking from him. It looked as if a hunter is about to hunt."Ami spoke as he looked at Lucas worriedly.

" I have a bad feeling about it. He looks like he wanted to kill Oskolov for some reason."

Even Fredrick blinked a couple of times and asked with a shocked expression"Hey, Parth did you piss Lucas unknowingly."

"No, I didn't even see him since yesterday."

"Then did that Oskolov pissed him," Fredrick spoke but everybody shook his head.

"I don't know what happened but I can feel that looking to control his anger. Anger, disgust, sorrow pity. All the emotions are mixed in him. He is a ticking bomb now who is going to blast."

"And the unfortunate one will be his opponent."

Parth looked at Lucas and for the first time in his life spoke with a serious expression which shocked everybody.

They were now more shocked at Parth's words rather than Lucas himself.

Under everybody's watch full gaze, Lucas walked onto the arena with his shoulder dropping down.

Anyone who saw him thought that the kid had lost hope at the thought of facing a strong opponent.
