Lucas's pupil shrank as a sudden revelation struck him. From the moment he reincarnated here, he has been thinking about Fredrick as a protagonist but by staying with him and getting to know him well, he can feel that though he is overpowered, he is not invincible and there will always be times when he need help.

"Wait, you should he can be defeated. Don't tell me he was defeated and killed." Lucas spoke with disbelief as the sudden thought of Fredrick being killed flashed in his mind.

The man looked at Lucas with a solemn expression.

Seeing the expression of his future self, he thought that, it might be true.

"Means is it true," Lucas asked again.

Though he accepted the fact that Fredrick isn't a protagonist but even with his monstrous talent and his artefact he was defeated.

The man neither refuted nor accepted Lucas's claims and only said"I can't say anything about it."

"Then do you know about the Fredrick artefact? Are there other weapons like that?" Lucas asked with curiosity.

He wanted a sword with an ego or something similar to Fredrick but his hope was crushed.

The man sighed and spoke"Fredrick artefact is something special. I can only tell you that it is an artefact or weapon of God. I can't say more about it."

Lucas sighed but he furrowed his burrows as he heard the word God again.

He looked at the man for a moment and asked"You said Fredrick artefact is a weapon of God and the system of mine is a divine artefact."

The man's expression became worse.

'Shit! did I reveal too much?'He cursed himself inwardly.

"Yeah! I understand what you wanted to ask. In future, I had a chance to get something similar to Fredrick but I took another thing." The man spoke and then he looked at the sky.

As Lucas was wondering what the man was looking up for, he heard his voice.

"Lucas, if you wanted to know more about it and wanted something similar to Fredrick, you have to break through 9-Star and reach a level higher than that."

"A realm, where a human shed his mortal shell after surpassing his limits preaching high up in the sky.A realm that will make you feel closer to the world."

"The quicker you reach that realm, the quicker you will get the answers or you have to wait for the time to come."

"It's your choice." The man spoke nonchalantly.

"But remember one thing. Don't think that if you have a diamond bloodline, you will be able to reach that realm. Having a higher bloodline has got nothing to do with it. The diamond bloodline will help you reach 9-Star but after that, it will just become a shackle and it totally will depend on you, how you move from forward." The man explained.

"The universe is mysterious with full of strong people. Many couching tigers and dragons have secluded themselves from the world." The man warned.

Lucas sighed.

The more he listens to his other self, the more confused he became and more questions pop off in his mind but he knew his other self will not answer him fully.

Still, Lucas already got the point.

"But as you said the system is an artefact so where did I get the artefact," Lucas asked.

"It is a gift from the future you to the present you. As for why? You will know about it later along with the reason for this regression."The man answered.

"Knowing too much you will do more harm and will put you under heavy pressure."He spoke.

"You just need to get stronger and slay any obstacle you encounter."The man spoke.

"But I can only say that I had many regrets in my previous life." The man spoke.

"What regrets," Lucas asked curiously.

The man smiled and spoke"You remember the incident, where you followed the person and you were trapped in the dungeon. I regretted that incident a lot. I turned a blind eye to what was going on and a calamity happened and that man whom you followed was the main initiator of this event."

Lucas's eyes widened as suddenly a small memory flashed in his eyes.

How can he forget that? Every time he thinks about it, a question always pops up in his mind, why the hell did he follow the man. There was a 99.99 chance of him losing his life.

At first, he thought he was just curious but the more he thought about it, the more he became confused.

That day, he felt as if something was forcing him to follow the man and an impulse which asked him to no matter what you do, you have to find the root of the trouble.

"You have saved the lives of many people. Though you didn't get rid of everything, you were able to delay an inevitable tragedy. You were able to get rid of the remorse that I carried in my heart all through my life." He spoke sorrowfully.

"Now did you understand? My actions and choices will always affect you in one way or other. Though our existence is different at the end of the day, we are the same, we are Lucas."

"The regrets of my life had to be carried by you and solved by you."The man spoke.

Lucas sighed.

The man looked at Lucas's expression and patted him and spoke" Lucas the road that I walked was full of thorns and I walked on it all alone. I didn't have a system nor was there a novel that told me about future events. The road before you is still the same but the only difference is, I walked on thorns barefooted but you have shoes to help you walk on them."

Lucas looked at his other self with a solemn expression and thought, what the hell did he go through, how did he get there without any memory of the future or system.

The reason why Lucas was where he was now was because of the system and reading the novel.

Without a system, he would have no skills or bloodline potions.

That means that his previous self wasn't able to break through quickly but still he become so strong that he can regress at his will.

"You will know in future." The man spoke as he sensed Lucas's thoughts.

A vein bulged on Lucas's forehead. This man is making the mystery more mysterious.

Before, he wanted to know about the system. Now when he knew about the system another mystery popped up.

Not knowing anything is the same as knowing many things for him. The amount of information he got, had already made him anxious, it felt quite irritating to leave in the middle.

It's just like you have been given a gift but you are stopped from opening it until a certain time arrives.

"Then can you say something about the last move you used? "Lucas asked with a hint of excitement in his voice.

" Dimensional Slash.Hmm."

"Dimensional slash is a move that can crush your bodies into millions of pieces and spread into many parallel dimensions."The man spoke.

Lucas's eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

"Take an example, you have a brick. When you use a dimensional slash, it will cut the brick

into thousand of pieces and will spread into all other dimensions where the brick's other self

exists. The move is generally used for defending and neutralising the attacks as the energy from the attacks can easily be divided and transported into other universes."

" Since it's an energy particle, it can easily merge with the other energy particles in another universe." The man spoke with a sorrowful expression.

Lucas didn't understand why he was unhappy while explaining it but he was sure if he asked, he would get the iconic answer 'You will know in the future.'

"Since the dragon was close to death and was weaker, I used the skill I could carry out in your current state. Even if you learn it, don't use it unless you have reached 8-Star."The man warned

After explaining about dimensional slash, the man's figure started to become blurred.

"What is happening?" Lucas panicked.

"It's nothing serious. I tore a part of my soul and merged with the system when I regressed in time. So, it's my time to leave."The man spoke with a faint smile.

" Lucas, don't repeat the mistakes I have done. You are already doing quite well and before parting, there are two things you must remember."The man spoke before disappearing.

"First thing you should take a note of is that demons are and aren't our real enemies."

"And for the second thing." The man's gaze turned serious and killing intent flashed in his golden eyes.

Lucas took a few steps back as the entire scenery changed.

Lucas looked at the land filled with bloody corpses. Even the sky was dyed red.

On a mountain of corpses.

The man stood looking at the rising sun. He was wearing a white armour etched in golden and his cloak fluttered in the air.

He spoke without turning back and his voice reverberated across the whole place like thunder.

"To defeat a demon, you have to become a demon yourself. But, if even that's not enough."

"You have to become the one who had transcendence the peak of terrors, one whose name will evoke fear in the beings who wanted to harm this world. You have to become the Devil who will slay all the evil."

"Only then, those who eye to devour this world will stay away from it. Don't hope for others to protect this world. You should be enough strong to protect the world and your loved one with your own hands." The man spoke as he clenched his fist

"Moreover, Lucas takes care of our parents, don't let them down as I did."The man spoke and the scenery changed back to before.

The man's silhouette glowed and dispersed into countless particles of light.

As Lucas looked at the figure of his future self fading, he felt a feeling of emptiness.

Though his future self didn't say much, he felt his feelings of helplessness and sorrow that were buried deep inside the heart of his other-self.

"Lucas, I will make sure to get rid of all your regrets."
