In a small house.

A lady with long hair was cutting some vegetables on a wooden board while singing a song. Her graceful and delicate movement of cutting was a sight to behold.

Every time she used her knife, a crisp sharp sound rang which made her look as if she is a master of cutting.

As she was humming while doing her work, the chopping sound of cutting halted abruptly and she frowned as she noticed the presence of two unwanted people who appeared out of the shadows.

"What happened."The woman asked without turning back but her voice was cold which sent a chill down the spine.

"Mam, we have shocking news."One of the shadows spoke.

" Mam, you will be delighted to hear the information we have."

"It's better if the information is worthwhile. You know it well that I and my husband have retired and we just wanted to live peacefully and your presence may draw unwanted attention" The woman said in an annoyed voice.

"And if not, you know what is going to be chop next."The lady back and went back to cutting the vegetable.

Gulped.

" Mam, it's about the young master."

The woman's movement stopped abruptly and she looked at the two coldly.

"What!" She exclaimed.

Two of them swallowed their saliva in fear and spoke about everything that happened recently and mostly about the Battle of Aler where the huge storm of events took place.

The woman listened to their speech nonchalantly but her hands trembled when she heard about the student horizon taking part in their battle.

"What!!The students of the horizon." She exclaimed in surprise.

"What were they doing out there?" She asked.

"They happened to have dungeon exploration but there was a dungeon outbreak many months ago and the goblins had a from a tribe and it is also reported that the member Darkness Cult had planted something in that area turning the place into an endangered area." The man reported everything.

The woman's heartbeat hastened and her breathing became rough.

With a trembling voice "That means he was there?"

"Mam, that's where the crux of the whole matter lies. There is both good news and bad news."

"I think we should wait for the chief to tell the further details."The shadow man spoke.

The woman nodded. Her inside was already in turmoil.

Though she looked calm, she was quite anxious and prayed in her heart for his safety.

'Please God, I beg you. Please don't let anything happen to him. Fate had already been harsh on him even when he was in my womb.'She prayed inwardly.

While the entire Cyrus Kingdom had been turned upside down, under vast darkness, two-man stood facing each other.

"Why the hell is this place so dark?" Lucas asked curiously.

He had been pondering about it for quite a while.

The man whose facial features looked similar to Lucas answered"It's your sea of consciousness, you can mould it any way you like."

"What!! Really?"Lucas asked.

"Just imagine, how you want this place to change into?"Lucas's other self spoke.

Lucas closed his eyes and started to imagine.

The darkness rippled and started to fade. On his left side, a warm breeze blew as the sea along with a beautiful beach appeared, on his left, a mountain started to ascend and the sky turned into the blue where many green shades seemed and on the ground, many beautiful flowers started to bloom, emitting a sweet and pleasant fragrance.

Lucas opened his eyes and was mesmerized by the scene that he saw.

Lucas took a breath of turbid air and looked at his other self as his expression turned serious.

"Now that we have finished everything. I want you to answer my question." Lucas spoke.

"First who are you? No, what are we and how did you have so much power and why do I feel as if I have killed countless beings."

The man rolled his eyes and thought about something spoke."You already know who am I or what are we."

"The answer is, You have been reincarnated and I am a regressor." He spoke pointing his hands towards Lucas.

Lucas frowned and furrowed his brows as he heard the answer.

Lucas wanted to speak but he was cut off.

"Let me finish." The man spoke with a stern voice.

"I know you wanted to ask about the reincarnation thing."

"Let me explain."

"As you know there is an uncountable number of parallel universes and different types of words that are present in the universe. Every person that lives had a soul that dies and then goes into the cycle of reincarnation. There are also chances of the same person living at the same time in many different parallels world."

"As you already know, the world and the events you are going through now, happened to be the ones in the novel you had read."

"This is just a coincidence that the story you have read seemed to have a world and you have unknowingly reincarnated into it but as you have already seen many things are different from the event and even without your intervention there is no guarantee that the future events you will face will occur in the same way you have known."

"This world is just similar to the world you have read but not the same. Now did you get my point?" The man asked.

"Moreover, the origin of the soul of Lucas of this world and that of yours from the earth is the same."

"You both are the same. Your earth self was just another version of Lucas of this world." The man explained.

Lucas listened carefully and noted each word the man had spoken and felt some of his questions had been cleared but still, there was something that was making me uneasy.

Lucas can sense that his other self was hiding something from him. He can feel it.

"Let's leave the reincarnation to the side. I want to know about the system. What is the origin of the system and what is the goal of giving me a system."Lucas asked as this was the most important question, he wanted to know about.

" The system is a soul artefact that is bounded to your soul. There is also the divine power coupled with the artefact ."The man replied.

"Hein!!A divine power."Lucas scratched his head.

" Do you know, what is the experience you get?"The man asked

Lucas shook his head.

"The exp you get from killing is the life force. Every time you kill an enemy, some of their life force is observed by the system and the system used this life force to give you the things you buy from the shop and also the stat points."

"You were too engrossed in the events and forget to note a thing. You didn't get any experience points from killing the dark trees or the dragon. Have you wondered why?"

"Ohh!" Lucas exclaimed in surprise and asked, "Why?"

"That's because their life essence is corrupted by the seed of darkness and if it enters your soul, there can be many unwanted problems so that's the system didn't absorb its life force." The man explained.

"That is the work of the divine power."

'The experience is the life force of the ones, I killed. It's quite unbelievable, just what type of artefact is the system moreover about being a divine artefact, does it have got to do something with Goddess."

Lucas pondered something as he thought about the system.

"Lucas, don't waste your brain on the useless thoughts. This is not a game or a fantasy novel like the ones you have read where you get quests and level up after killing. This is real life, don't joke around. Moreover, let me remind you of one thing."The man spoke.

The man's expression turned solemn and he looked at Lucas with dark hollow eyes full of anger.

Gulp.

Lucas shivered as he saw the man's face and muttered 'Isn't his face similar to mine. Do I look like a demon when I get angry?'

"Throw away that damned attitude that Fredrick is the protagonist. There is no such thing as protagonist or plot armour. You are the one who decides what role you have to play. Don't let others do the things, you could have done."

"Everyone is a protagonist or hero of their own life. A soldier who saved five of his teammates in war is no less than a protagonist who saved thousand people. Everyone fight and helps in their way. The only difference is skills and strength. If you are the strongest in the world, you are the protagonist of it."

"Now think about it from another angle. What will happen when the person you think will be the hero and will lead the era in the future, is suddenly defeated?"The man coldly.
