Just before Tang Mei run out of gas, Wei Yi Yi stopped in front of a very tall tree with a large trunk.

"Climb, Ah Mei!" Wei Yi Yi said with urgency.

"You first!"

In an instant, Wei Yi Yi hugged Tang Mei by her legs and raise her. Having no choice, Tan Mei grabbed the vines coiling around the tree.

Once Tang Mei started climbing on her own, Wei Yi Yi's attention snapped back towards Jiang Liu's group. She didn't start climbing after Tang Mei. Instead, she reached for her back...

Only to realize that Tang Mei has been carrying her bow all this time...

Glancing up, her bow and arrow lay perfectly fine at Tang Mei's back.

"..." Wei Yi Yi and Tang Mei were beyond speechless.

Just when the two is having a 'lag', one of the foxes decided that it was the perfect time to get his most awaited lunch.

A fox, with fine fur, pounce on Jiang Liu!

Bai Huo instantly dives down to grab him up while Bai Shui prepared to tackle the fox away.

The fox notice it though and subconsciously dodge away.

This gave the twins a few second to take Jiang Liu away. He was hauled half-running and half-dragging.

"Up! Up! Up!" Wei Yi Yi grabbed his collar and push him to the tree.

"Wait! I don't know how!" Jiang Liu declared which cause everyone faces to darken.

"It's the same as sneaking around the palace!" Wei Yi Yi almost hit him. Aren't they use to climbing the walls?!

"If I can climb on my own, I wouldn't dig dogholes you know?!"

Suddenly, the group heard a loud yelp and when they looked back, one of the foxes nearest to them is down on the ground.

"Eh?"

Seeing their comrade injured, the rest of the pack carefully approach.

With their sharp teeth showing to establish dominance, the pack slowly circle around the group of humans.

The group, "..."

Without words, Tang Mei lean down and extended her hands. Jiang Liu desperately jumped to grab on to Tang Mei while Wei Yi Yi pushes him on the butt.

"Hey!" Wei Yi Yi shouted as Jiang Liu stepped on her shoulder. He almost slipped down if not for Wei Yi Yi immediately catching his foot.

Raising her arm and using her hands as a foothold, Tang Mei finally reach Jiang Liu and pulled him up.

As for the twins, one of them acted as the base and throw the other up in the air after a run-up.

After reaching a certain height, Bai Shui grabbed a vine while her sister reach for her hand. She then threw Bai Huo up towards the nearest branch. Bai Huo then pulled her up and just like that, the two climb on the tree.

Jiang Liu, Tang Mei, and the twin securely reach a safety height.

Except that the empress is still on the ground...
