Jiang Cheng leads in front while Wei Yi Yi followed the pace he was setting. At the back, Tang Mei and the nameless servant kept a small distance as they walked behind.
Comparing him with Jiang Yu and Jiang Liu, you could mistake him as Jiang Liu's direct blood brother instead. Despite the multiple layered of robes, his broad shoulders and well-defined jaw immits his vigorous aura. Under those clothes are definitely strong robust muscles.
Jiang Cheng looked as sturdy and handsome as Jiang Liu. If they stand side to side, you wouldn't be able to tell them apart unless you're very familiar with them.

"Then please be careful on your way Cheng Wangye."
The two bid farewell towards each other in an awkward degree of formality.
But then, Jiang Cheng didn't proceed to walk away and remain standing. Wei Yi Yi did not hasten him to leave as well.
Jiang Cheng swept his gaze around before resting them to Wei Yi Yi once again. He then spoke once again, "Yi Yi, did you finally stopped waiting?"
Under the bright moon, two people stare at each other. One with a mix of melancholy and the other with wide eyes.
The blowing wind brushed Wei Yi Yi's cheek as it passed by and the gentle breeze cooled her intense palpitation. Finally, she said, "You do know it is bad to eavesdrop to someone else's conversation?"
Jiang Cheng shrugs his shoulders. "It is not this brother fault that Yi Yi is careless. Thanks to heaven, Mao'er is smart enough to interrupt before this prince faint with high blood pressure."
"Mao'er came too late. We spoke enough words to be rewarded with poison wine," Wei Yi Yi crossed her arms.
The two end up in a staring contest until Jiang Cheng gave up. So this time, he turned more serious and stopped testing the waters. Jiang Cheng becomes more direct as he said, "Your servant..." Jiang Cheng gave Tang Mei a look. "Is loyal and brave. She thinks for your well being and worth to keep. The two of you have been together for a long time after all. But if you don't know how to reign her in, you might not able to protect her."
Hearing this, Wei Yi Yi loosens up her arm and the futile wall she was guarding against this man crumble entirely. She cannot stop the amicable feeling 'Wei Yi Yi' have for this person buried deep within bone her bones and stopped even trying in utter defeat.

With a sincere smile on her face, she said, "Many thanks. I will keep that in mind."
Jiang Cheng nod contently. "So, is Yi Yi no longer waiting?"
"I'm not waiting anymore," Wei Yi Yi answered with ease. "Are you going to say that it's too late now to regret?"
"No. You know I'm always on your side right?" Jiang Cheng gave her a quick pat. "Now that you clear your head, although it is impossible to back out now, there is still a lot of ways to live leisurely in the inner palace."
"Then, would second brother enlighten me?" Wei Yi Yi joked.
"This... I'm afraid to inform that this brother is not knowledgable in the art of war inside the harem."
Wei Yi Yi laughs freely at Jiang Cheng sarcastic tone combine with a serious face. It was not that he was trying to joke. The funny thing is he's completely serious.

In quick strides, he stood next to her.

Her gut feelings scream at her and she then contemplates on trusting it. For what it only gives her right now is anxiety!

Jiang Yu let him complete his salutations. "Cheng Wangye, what brings you here at the death of the night?"
"Nothing pressing, your majesty. This prince's cat accidentally bothered her majesty and I was inclined to at least escort the empress back."
"Is that so? Then let Zhen express his thanks," Jiang Yu pulled Wei Yi Yi to stand at his back and he stood between them.
"This prince is undeserving and dare not accept," Jiang Cheng direct his gaze on the ground slightly lower.

"Cheng Wangye must be joking. How could you not dare," Jiang Yu taunt but Jiang Cheng did not reply. Wei Yi Yi turned her eyes sideways and refuse to look at the sparkle between the two.
"It is already late, Zhen will no longer hold on into Cheng Wangye further," Jiang Yu said, indicating his disinterest.
"This prince will excuse himself then," Jiang Cheng answered with more disinterest and left without a beat with his servant.
Thinking she was not being noticed, Wei Yi Yi raised her hand and waved goodbye on Jiang Cheng's back.
Unfortunately, Jiang Yu was looking at her with an unamused gaze.
Death flags waved at her vision terrifyingly as Jiang Yu grabbed her wrist and entered the Luminous Courtyard.
