"Hehehe, it really has been too long since I've let loose." Rei said with a smile as Lucifer appeared besides him.

"Maybe for you, but I've had my fill in overlord." Lucifer replied sitting beside him.

"Well not killing like this for a long time made me a little dull. I could only think of turning their bones into bone spiders to kill them from the inside. If it was before, I'm sure I could have thought of crueller methods to kill them." Rei replied as he sighed.

"True. So are you going to refine their essences?" Lucifer asked.

"Of course I am. Who would give up a free meal?" Rei retorted before waving his hand and condensed all of the blood into a pill.

These pills were refined together with the souls of the victims so they boosted his power much more than normal blood pills.

Downside, or rather the upside would be the fact that they won't be able to reincarnate.

After eating the pill, Rei immediately sat down as he felt the walls to Divine Rank 8 breaking.

It didn't take him long to break through as his Heaven Piercing Lightning physic absorbed every piece of lightning that came towards him. The 10% that couldn't be absorbed couldn't even pierce his barrier.

"I think I'll go challenge the War God trials." Rei said as he stood up.

"You're not heading back?" Lucifer asked.

Rei shook his head.

"Not yet, I'll let them absorb the information a little. Give them some time to digest and understand what kind of an existence I am." Rei said in a cold tone.

"System, enter Berserk War God Trials." Rei commanded as Lucifer faded away.

[Entering Temple of the War God.]

Rei felt his vision blur before he found himself at the top of a temple.

He could see the main points of this trial.

-Kill 100,000 Divine Rank 8 Puppets

-Kill 100,000 Divine Rank 9 Puppets

-Kill 1,000,000 Divine Rank 10 Puppets

-Kill 1 Low God Ranked Puppet

Rei felt his smile widen.

'Hehe, another slaughter after I just killed. Great' Rei thought as a grin formed on his face.

Walking out the temple, Rei could see the army of puppets approach him.

"Kyoki, Tengoku. You there?" Rei said as he summoned the dual swords.

"Yeah we're here." They both said appearing in their human forms.

"What do you feel about letting loose after a long time?" Rei asked as his aura started to flare upwards causing minor fractures to appear on the ground.

The trials grounds for the war god were reinforced continuously due to the explosive power that comes with a war god. Therefore, for Rei to be able to crack the surroundings just by flaring his aura shows how insane his strength had reached.

"I welcome it." Kyoki said as his scythe and chains appeared in his hands.

"It's been a while. I don't mind." Tengoku replied as her great swords appeared in her hands as well.

"Then let's party." Rei grinned.

"BANKAI!"

Thunderous clouds gathered above as a beam of light struck down where Rei stood.

His figure appeared as light armour could be seen. The armour changed a lot with every increment of his power. At Divine Rank 8, the armour was coloured a mix of black and gold. Each segment of the armour seemed like it was crafted from the spine of a demonic dragon. Sharp spike protruded from areas which surprisingly didn't conflict with each other. On his back, he had four metallic wings which lacked feathers looking like the wings of a bone dragon but made with metal. However, in the place where feathers would be, Rei had black and gold energy flare instead. With the changes of his armour, his appearance also changed slightly. His hair was a mix of black and white when he went into Bankai before, but now it was pure black as it had some hints of red and white albeit very little.

His eyes no longer carry any colour of red as it was silver on one side and gold on the other. However, even though the colour red disappeared, the silver and gold still formed their own galaxy in each iris.

"Shojun! Realm of the God Emperor!" Rei called out as his army descended behind him. Not only have their numbers increase but so did their strength.

The common soldier had the strength of Divine Rank 6 whilst the commanders were Rank 7. Tengoku and Kyoki were both at Rank 8 like him.

"KILL!" Rei shouted as his wings spread out launching him forwards.

Kyoki and Tengoku followed but tackled different areas of the Puppet army.

Due to his army of skills, the soldiers could easily fight against enemies much higher level than them.

As he came into contact with the puppet army, he used Kamui causing their attacks to faze through him.

Swinging his swords, Rei re-materialised only the swords when they were halfway through the body causing them to be destroyed quickly.

'Physical power of a Divine Rank but no skills.' Rei quickly analysed as he avoided their attacks.

Neon blue arrows could be seen flying around as each of the soldiers had a select number of Noble Phantasms that fit their criteria.

Cannons, bows, swords, spears and more. Each soldier was armed to the teeth.

Rei grinned as his killing intent surged

Summoning Enkidu, Rei merged it with his swords as their appearance changed. The two-sided swords became great swords with a shorter bade length but slightly wider blade. The chains had spikes protrude from the segments as it would weaken who ever touched the chains apart from Rei and his army.

Swinging the chained swords, Rei's senses were pushed to the extreme as he made sure to only materialise at the right moments.

*BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM!!!

Countless sounds of battle rang out as Re slaughtered his way through. His cultivation had already reached half was through to Divine Rank 9 as his soldiers were holding up better than he expected.

Throwing another blade forward, Rei targeted the closest Rank 9 puppet. The chain wrapped around its neck as it struggles to get it off.

Pulling himself towards the target, Rei kneed the puppet's head clean off the torso.

Throwing the blades behind him, Rei killed two more Rank 9 puppets.

'Not fast enough.' Rei thought with a frown.

His instant cast worked its magic as spells and skills were being broken down and fused instantly giving new skills to fight with.

Throwing both blades as far as he could in in opposite directions, Rei twisted the blades as they spun without materialising once to kill the enemy.

The moment they made a full circle, a huge magic array glowed under the puppet's feet.

Slamming his palms into the ground, Rei summoned each of his avatars as they started to tear through the army. Once they reached a heavily populated area, they self-destructed as each of them took a huge chunk out of the army.

Checking towards the requirements, Rei couldn't help but sigh.

He suddenly had an idea as his body floated upwards.

Lightning surged as thunderous clouds loomed over the entire battlefield.

"HAA!!!" Rei shouted as he threw the blades downwards.

*BOOM CRACK!

The ground shattered apart as lightning dragons crawled out of the crevasses.

*BOOOMM!!!!

A beam of energy would shoot out of each dragon's mouth causing an empty line to appear in the army.

In addition to this, the beam of energy would shoot out lightning which chained across each of the puppets.

His kill count increase exponentially as Rei nodded. This was much more efficient.

The Rank 10 puppets were the main problem as he had to kill a million of them.

Raising his hands into the air, Rei's mana surged as the skies opened up. They could see several thousands of huge meteors as clutched his hand causing them to break apart. Waving his hands down, the meteor shower shot towards the army.

*BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM

Countless explosions of meteors rang out as Rei watched.

He had already tried to disintegrate them but it seems like disintegrating a mass of enemies higher level then you were a lot harder.

'If they were real people, it would be even harder since Divine Ranked people higher than rank 5 gets a passive regeneration. The higher rank the stronger.' Rei thought seeing the effects.

"But I guess that will change once I reach God Rank." Rei muttered as this disintegration skill was very powerful. At first it was just him crumbling the data away, but after gaining the God Title He was able to incorporate nothingness into his attacks which effectively deletes his opponents. But due to his cultivation not being on par, he couldn't use this skill to its full extent.

It had been two days now and Rei had finally killed the last Divine Rank 10 soldier. Even though he was fine physically, he was mentally tired.

There were only one opponent left as it was the Low God Ranked being.

Rei told all of his soldiers to kill themselves before the fight so he could have an edge. His rank surged up to the Peak of Divine Rank 10 instantly.

Rei could tell that the being would arrive in 5 mins as it was time to let him rest.

Rei set up a single trap as it was all he needed against a single opponent.

Five minutes passed as a golden light descended.

"I am Extalis, remnant power of the first war go-"

Enkidu suddenly rose from the ground as it wrapped around the being instantly weakening it.

"Fuck off!" Rei shouted out as he threw his sword coated with nothingness as it disintegrated the being.

"Fuck me. I've been killing you fucks for the past two days now. Sure I ask for some stress relief slaughter, but it became tedious after the first day ok?! Fuck!" Rei ranted his misgivings as the system notification rang out.

"The moment the True God Emperor died the enemies attacked. It took us off guard so we've already lost quite a few Low Gods and some God Ranks. High Gods managed to stabilise the situation but we're getting bombarded from almost every direction."

"Can you tell us about any unique individual? Such as the Perception True God." The Beast god asked.

"No, right now it is only Low Gods, Gods and High gods fighting. Peak Gods and True Gods haven't made their move yet."

"We can estimate that they don't have a True God Emperor since they would have attack long ago. Therefore, Peak Gods and True Gods make up their powerhouses." The Element god said as a few other gods nodded.

"In this case then we should split out forces for now and have the Space Peak God teleport us should a battlefield suffer from a powerhouse. I would suggest having a main camp where the strategic gods would stay so they can assist everywhere. Each battlefield should have at least Three Peak Gods. True Gods will stay behind until a battlefield starts to lose. In which case there should be two True Gods going to assist or One True God with a concept title." Another God said as most Gods nodded.

"How many Peak Gods and True Gods are there? Are you able to give a rough estimate?" Ophelia asked.

"We don't know about True Gods but there are definitely around 400 to 700 Peak Gods."

"700 Peak Gods... How did they get so many?!"

"I'm guessing some were either false gods that hold the power but no title or.... They were the remnants of the enemy forces back in the Old War." The system god frowned. It would be a blessing if they were false gods. Should they be remnants however, the consequences would be dire.
